“Poor customer service”

★★☆☆☆

written by Bricem362 on 13/07/2017

I ordered a 300 pound out n about pram as it was about 5pound cheaper on here. It was meant to be next day delivery. After 4 days I had not heard a thing, then I read the other reviews and was very worried. No phone no and replies to emails 72hrs. Terrible. Received a text 5 days later with dpd delivery, it was then delivered-great product but poor poor customer service. I received a reply from kiddicare 8days after my initial order!!!

“Appalling Customer Service!”

written by on 26/01/2017

I would not recommend buying from Kiddicare purely based on my own recent personal experience. I ordered 2 x Ferrari car seats (I have twins) and paid extra for the delivery to be made on a specific day so that I knew I would be at home to receive it. When the delivery arrived, only 1 seat had been sent. As there was no accompanying paperwork I had no idea what was happening with regards to the outstanding seat. I was not contacted by Kiddicare despite the fact that they had charged me in full for both and also deducted the additional £4.99 for a specific delivery. They simply sent one text to say the delivery was coming and then another to say that they couldn’t make the delivery….! Seeing as the telephone number has been made unavailable (how ridiculous?!) I emailed them to make them aware of the situation and they basically made an excuse about a delay and asked me to wait 48 hours to be updated by the courier!! (In the meantime, the seats were still showing in stock online and available for next day delivery…) I was not at all happy with their response. One seat was no good to me when I needed two! I chased them over the course of the following few days and although they did reply to all but one of my emails, in the end I spoke directly to the courier at my local depot who confirmed that they had not been contacted to be made aware of another collection. I made Kiddicare aware of this and they then decided to send the replacement. I had to request a refund of the delivery charge and was told it would take up to 14 days to process! As it happened, it was done in less than a week (and rightly so! They were quick enough to take the money in the first place despite only despatching half of the order!) Both seats were sent with the protective covers simply thrown in to the box instead of actually being placed over the seats. I can only assume that the poor customer service and lack of due care and attention is down to the fact that the company is getting too big and the staff are inundated. My experience has put me off ever using Kiddicare again. The most infuriating part of all this is that you are unable to actually speak to someone! It all has to be done via email since they no longer have a telephone number in use. In this day and age, I find that absolutely ludicrous. The issue could have been resolved a lot quicker had I been able to speak to someone from the outset. Customer service is paramount and I feel that they have failed miserably. Sort yourselves out Kiddicare, you are going to lose business fast at this rate!

“Poor customer service. Unacceptable packaging and care ”

★★☆☆☆

written by Jenvtr on 14/03/2016

I recently purchased 3 items from kiddiecare, 2 maxi cosi car seats and an isofix base. After a few days wait I received 2 packages. The isofix base and the larger of the car seats. The car seat had be shipped in a cardboard box which was at least 2 inches too small and held shut with one piece of tape. Needless to say, in transit the piece of tape buckled as the car seat was sticking out of the box at either side, I'm surprised it even arrived. Anyways so I was looking for the invoice to see what was sent and why I only had 2 out of 3 packages. There was no invoice, either that or it had fallen out of the box. I contacted kiddiecare who advised me they were a paperless company and do not send invoices. Which was fine, however an email would have been nice to tell me my items had been dispatched, and the last would arrive in due course. I also sent them pictures of the package as I could not believe they would send an item out with packaging in that condition. There response was that this was a courier issue. I'm pretty certain the courier wasn't the one who used a box that was too small!! I tried to tell them this but they didn't appear interested. So I wait for the next package thinking that it can't be any worse...the baby car seat arrives and low and behold it is worse! The box is all ripped, there is again one piece of tape attempting to hold the box together! I couldn't believe the state it arrived in. Again, I was angry and again I contacted kiddiecare. They unsurprisingly stated that it was a courier issue. And again I sent photographs and attempted to explain that this is impossible because quite clearly it is them who package the items and the courier is clearly only providing a delivery service. My comments fell on deaf ears. For a company supplying child safety products, they have no concern as how these items arrive to the customer. And despite numerous emails they will avoid accepting blame and ownership of their mistakes. Very disappointed and will not use again!

I ordered a very expensive push chair ( Phil and Teds ) , and before it had even been used , 2 inner tubes exploded .I spoke to customer services , who said , reluctantly , that they would replace them .Next thing , someone else phoned , and was not only very irritating and repetative , but refused to send out replacements for these faulty items

“Need to learn a thing or two about customer service ”

The bristol store opened earlier this year (2013). The first few times I went along there I was pretty amazed by the variety of kids stuff and reasonable prices. The cafe was great, the staff were really pleasant. I purchased one or two items, there was one other item I intended to purchased but I only realised when my total bill seemed too high - that they had misprinted the stuff on some of their shelves but I put this down to being a new store new staff etc. On two other occasions I went - again I intended to buy stuff which turned out to be misprinted on the shelf and other items I wanted to buy where out of stock I started to realise not only by frequently visiting the store but by asking staff that they were fully aware that there were incorrectly priced items that were not corrected - leading to customer complaints Also I realised that on a weekend there was very little stock. Then.... on one occasion were I attended the store to exchange a walker store manufactured because the wheels did not roll in a way that my child could ever use it to walk. I spoke to someone who claimed to be the store manager who's response was 'if the display model wheels didn't roll well then we would need to expect our walker to be the same as it was the design of the product' Absolutely baffled by this I began a big arguement with the man and finally he agreed on this occasion he would exchange the product. After exchanging the walker I went to the cafe ... There was a woman with her husband and she was crying. I then saw the guy who claimed to be manager walking towards them and I then saw the staff in the cafe looking at him in disgust. Being the sarcastic woman that I am - I shouted over to them that their manager seems to be upsetting everyone and I asked if they knew what the problem was. They responded- he is not the manager he is a warehouse team leader, he bosses us about all the time and he's just upset the woman that is crying. I asked why she was crying and found out it was because the wheels on her stroller did not work but he would not allow an exchange. I started a further arguement with the so called manager and was advised by the cafe staff to write a complaint. I never recieved a response to my complaint. On one other occasion (weekend just gone) I'm not really sure why but I chose to buy a car seat from the store. The adviser spent an hour recommending a particular seat but when I agreed to buy she told me they were out of stock again She couldn't tell me when the stock would be back but assured me if I paid for the seat it would be delivered to my house the following day. Dissapointment but wanting the seat I paid for it and waited in the next day (today) it's now 6pm on 30th December I called kiddicare to find out were my delivery was- they called their courier and got back to me Apparently because the weather is bad they decided to cancel my delivery but they may deliver tomorrow (New Years eve) Thier service is just diabolical !!!!!

“Mixed experiences”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 18/07/2013

Unfortunately it's a very bad experience that's caused me to write this review but we have had some good experiences so I'll give an overall review. We've used kiddicare numerous times and we've even got money back when we've found the item cheaper. We've had a pram and a high chair with no issues what so ever. Kiddicare's problem comes when something goes wrong, they're woefully inadequate at putting things right and their customer service couldn't care less. I recently bought a dolls house for my daughters 2 year birthday. When we built it we found there was a crack on the base. We contacted kiddicare who arranged a new one to be sent out. Great customer service upto now. The night before we boxed the old one up ready to be returned. The new one arrived on time. Warning signs were there straight away when I could see it was clearly a return they'd sent me. It had a quality check label on it and old tape over new. Only it hadn't been quality checked, there were vital parts missing stopping me building it and knife slash marks on the wood where someone had opened it badly. Again I contacted kiddicare only this time I got no response. Then I got an e-mail saying they would refund my account. I rang kiddicare who said that's it, have your refund and we're done. So I now had my daughter asking where her dolls house was and no dolls house.

Prices promise a con (they will do anything to get out of price-matching), customer service defensive and rude, and I'd love to know who told them kiddicare was "the UK's favourite baby website".
Will not buy from them again and will not recommend to friends. Takes time, perseverance and far too much effort to get any level of service out of them. Happy to take your money, not at all professional when things go wrong.

written by mumofmax on 08/06/2010

Before my car seat broke I would have rated Kiddicare top marks. Since I have had to deal with 'aftersales' they have been poor. One phone number which you call and are told to send an email. You send 3 and there is no acknowledgement. You phone again and are told to send another email - you do. You chase - your car seat is finally collected 6 days after promised. It is then delivered, 1 day late - and to the wrong address. (Despite having provided delivery addresses!). Not good aftersales. They seen to have forgotten that it's childrens items and things like car seats are essential to most parents on a daily basis.

written by on 11/11/2009

Finding it difficult to give a star rating as for some aspets and days I'd rate them fairly high, however it is a bad today, so would give them no stars. This is not the first time I've had problems with Kiddicare. The first time, I order pushchair acessories which were not in stock but should have arrived within 5 days. After waiting 4 weeks and numerous phone calls to customer service manager I did end up with £80 of free goods. Having been so kind to me we did end up visiting their store to buy a new travel system - to avoid delivery delays. Oh dear, should have learnt my lesson. The raincover wasn't in stock. They did promise to send it on within 11 days. Checked their web site on the 11th day and found they were not now getting them until 30 days after my purchase. I contacted them and to cut a long story short, they sent me a different model raincover assuring me it would fit. It didn't and now I get to keep the useless one and still have to wait for my origianl one. Watch this space...

written by Oliverem0712 on 29/02/2008

I ordered a travel system from Kiddicare at the back end of 2007 and started using it in January 2008 only to discover a serious fault, the chassis collapses!
I rang to find out what I could do about it (given that a rely heavily on the pram) and was charged £1.50 to ring a premium line customer services number. Not yet resolved the problem, but I would think carefully about ordering with them as if you have any problems you will spend the money you saved calling them up. Can only liken to Ryan Air, all great if runs smoothly but if your flight is cancelled you are stuffed!!!

I am desperately trying to locate spare parts that I require for a Hauck Baby-Center Travel Cot. I have misplaced the 4 x corner brackets that support the basinet poles and also 1 of the arms that attach to the side of the cot to support the changing tray. Is there a possibility that these spares can be located please?
