“Alibris -- Some homework needed”

There are a lot of resellers on Alibris, some of whom are not so reliable. My suggestion is to check the number of positive + neutral ratings vs. negative ratings that a reseller has. The other trick is to do research on similar sites, like TextbooksRUs (aka TextbooksRush) and contact the reseller. Resellers that reply quickly are more reliable than those that don't. Be sure to ask about the edition and the condition of the book again, even if they are specified in the listing -- at cutthroat prices, the reseller may be trading in used items. (Personally, that's fine by me, as long as the reseller is honest, because I know why I'm getting a good price.) Other than that, Alibris offers great bargains! :D

The second book by the same title, that I ordered for my friend, after being pleased with my first order and recommending the book and the site to my friend, came on time, but was in very poor condition and was a tattered paperback. I had planned on ordering more of the same for friends, but now I hesitate to do so.
