Vauxhall Signum 1.9 Cdti Elite 150
I've has my Signum for 3 years now and the plus sides are, good space, clever rear seats and relaxed motorway cruising with 45+ mpg.
The bad bits are numerous, the waterpump failed at 60k which stripped off the cambelt which bent the valves in the head. The repair bill was carried out by Vauxhall at £2500.00! At 68K the dual mass flywheel needed replacing a further £950.00. Tyre wear is horrendous we've spent over £1000.00 in 3 years which includes numerous alignment checks (always OK). Fronts generally last 10k and driven carefully (225 45 18" tyres are v. expensive). The interior light keeps blowing its fuse and the problem can't be trased by Vauxhall.
At 80k there's now lots of clonks and groans from the suspension and water in the passenger footwell!
The spec is also odd as there's no traction control which makes driving in slippery conditions challenging.
I'd previously owned VW and Seat's which have been totally dependable, I know my problems aren't unique (there's still the common EGR valve, inlet manifold swirl flaps and 3rd injector wiring faults to come - joy!), so avoid at all costs!!
