“Faulty off and on switch”

Really nice looking kettle but for the price the switch mechanism is poor quality at best, worse still you can`t buy a replacement switch. Easy fix though, gently prising off handle cover, remove screw below switch pull out switch, remove plastic L shaped part, superglue a 3mm piece of plastic or similar to the angled face that the switch comes against, reassemble and voila lid now opens.

“leaking at base of handle”

bought this kettle on august 2008 found it noisy but done the job no problems with the lid ,filter or boiling stopping but now leaking at bottom took the stainless part of the handle off but got no further there is a lot of reviews on this kettle but no solutions has anyone any idea how to remove handle and water level indicator and reseal would think that would solve this problem have asked magi mix for a breakdown of this kettle and fix myself just call handy andy still a good kettle with a leaky problem which can be sorted & resealed

I first bought this in December 2007 after about 10 months the lid would not open. I received a replacement Dec 2008. I am on my third now replaced October 2010 and have just noticed the kettle is not boiling when switching off. I have realised this but for those who are not standing next to it may think it has boiled, this could be an issue i.e. sterilisation. At this rate I may never need to buy a kettle again! Have they started to recycle them yet? It is such a shame as I like the design although a smaller version would suit.

We're a working couple on or third kettle now. The 1st was returned as the numbers rubbed off, the 2nd returned as the lid button stopped functioning, the 3rd one now has a problem with switching itself off before boiling and we have to press the on button about 3 times per boil. Customer services have been great and replaced the kettle every time without fuss, however we're out of warranty now so we'll have to live with the dodgy button. True the kettle is loud but very very fast and looks great. No problems with leaks here.
