Kenwood BL740 5 Speed Blender

I had my Kenwood BL740 5 speed blender for around 18 months before I recently upgraded. It was always.. ok. If you wanted to crush ice, blend together a quick sauce, or make a smoothie from soft fruit (like bananas, nectarines etc) then it was more than capable. It is easy to clean and disassemble. However, if you're blending more complicated creations, this blender just hasn't got the power. I would attempt to make smoothies using things like blueberries, strawberries, kale etc, and no matter how long you blended for, there would always be lumps left. It also had a tendency to get quite hot as it reached the end of life; and drinking hot smoothies is not very pleasant! Soups were a struggle too - the different ingredients just wouldn't come together and often you would find the spices just sitting on the top.

It was only when I upgraded, I started to realise just how weak this blender was! If you're serious about blending, I'd recommend investing a little more in something of higher quality.
