UkChatterbox used to be a fantastic site. Lots of people signed in at the same time, and plenty of 'popular' rooms to go and get involved in. However, at some point (around the start of 2015), the moderators started really losing their impartiality, especially in the two most popular rooms. A growing 'clique' of 'regular chatters' started being able to dictate what was allowed to be discussed. If they didn't like it, they'd attack the person trying to make conversation, to the point where the person being attacked would get a ban for trying to defend themselves. When queried, I was simply told it's easier to ban one person, than ban the 'group', and that as 'regulars' they were offered more leeway in their overall sense of 'chat'. I didn't agree with this, and tried to get it changed. However, my actions didn't go unnoticed by the 'clique' and several fraudulent claims were made about my character and rationale for seeking chat. This got to the point where people were actively avoiding chatting to me, in order to not associate themselves with someone the 'clique' didn't like. Eventually, after months of complaining, the 'clique' members were given a warning for their actions, but it didn't stop them. They just made complaints themselves about being persecuted. In the end, one of the moderators left, and it got worse and worse. Anyone who didn't go along with the 'clique' mentality were continually attacked, or slagged off when they weren't in chat. It got to the point where 95% of the conversation was dedicated to discussing people not in the 'room' at the time, and what would happen when he/she came in! I ended up receiving a permanent ban after I apparently 'offended' a moderator. No warning, just had my account deleted.

i was on this site years ago,was curious as to whether it was still up and running.After googling,i found a video which shows how the site admins kept all the pics people uploaded. Many of them unsuitable for profile pics (pornographic?) the user was lead to believe that the pics weren't accepted.They were,however,kept.Bit naughty that?

Ukcb originated from a group of student chat rooms created by IT student Bobby Amlani (aka Blaster / almond81). He was a geeky student type with not a massive social scope. So him and his brother Paural it created hope with regared to meeting women mostly. There was great plans to market the website that was crated as a basis for his university project as a business later on. Bobby became involved with dancing the Ceroc and preferred to meet women that way. The family property development business took a nose dive. Bobby became move involved with Ceroc dancing and real people than in the website. It still sold advertising and therefore created a stable income for a time whilst the website was managed by a team of Voluntary workers. The moderator staff changed hands several times, senior moderators where actually part of other chat sites with a secret intention of a take down. Thus hoaxed hacking attacks that had been supplied with admin passwords destroyed the site. Admin creating silly rules to bring down the standard. Bobby and friends cannot really care with the hassle of the place and never really want to chat. There will no doubt be other sites popping up now as ukcb has dominated internet chat in the uk for a long time. :D da guru :D

Well I'll go into the positive points first. It has an X in the top right hand corner. That is all. Now for the negatives. I'll start off with the 18 rooms which you are supposedly allowed to swear in and have no filter, but that is until one of their jobsworth mods comes in after a bad day and decides to abuse their power. Then there's the Countdown room. Supposedly any word in the English dictionary can be used, but enter a word that a mod doesn't like and you get a warning or a ban! This added to the amount of bullying that goes on without being moderated, then when the victim finally retaliates the mods decide to kick or ban them and let the true culprits off scott free. Try and complain and they say to email Dragon or Mackemlady, then Dragon doesn't even have the decency to reply, while Mackemlady will just send an email saying she has read the logs and the mod was right, whatever the circumstances. Well it's been down for over a week now. Hopefully Japanese investors have taken over UKCB towers and opened it up as a 5* hotel and chucked all the staff out into the gutter. If they ever do get it back online, don't bother going on there. There are much better chat sites and networks available. Unless you're an idiot, where you will feel right at home there!

UKCB is a java based chat site..about 15 years behind in technology and applications.No voice..No cams.....just scrolling chat rooms with poor graphics and age old smileys. It is supposed to be moderated, but the so called moderators are not put through any checks. no background checks...no CRB checks..nothing. They use their moderator status to settle old scores, or in the case of the male ones Bob in particular ....uses his status to get women to talk to him...(how sad). The females that use the rooms..gang up on any unsuspecting male that might like to chat...or more likely..doesnt agree with them. In my experience the women are mostly fat bitter old hags that have had bad experiences in life and tar all men with the same brush. Summary: avoid....its not a site for adults,and certainly not for kids, the moderation is a joke, and pays lip service to the UK law only.

i was followed from room to room by a b#### who wanted to tell people i was a nasty bad person ( or words to that effect ) and i was threatened by one of the males who was in with the rest of them. and when i reported this to the big boss what action did they take ? .nothing and they are still giving me problems.

Where to begin.. UKCB is full of degenerates, dossers & single mums, you will find the lowest of the low on this site. Don't under any means think you can come on UKCB for an intelligent debate or actual conversation because the majority of the users don't have any GCSE's & have the conversational skills of 7 year olds. I've had more thrilling discussions with a teapot. Perhaps once upon a time it was a decent way to spend time, but right now it is full of lonely hearts looking for love. The female to male ratio is screwed so the males are short of options which means you will get the odd obese myspace angled female thinking she's Megan Fox just because some desperado from London gives her the time of day *cough Charlotte cough* Saddo's like that lack something in life so live it on chatrooms which turns into a tedious episode of Eastenders which drives interesting people away from the site. Then you get the cyber bully gangs who think they're online hardnuts, they take chat to extremes by not contributing to a chat without hurling abuse and saving your photo's to their dusty packard bell pc. Granted, they have a bit more banter than the normal normans who frequent & chat all day long about cups of tea, but they have single handedly sent the majority of the site packing. Do not even get me started on the moderators, I swear some of them are disabled.. they were clearly bullied at school & now looking for some kind of authority somewhere, UKCB was their only hope. They take personal dislikings to users & will sit & wait for them to say one slight thing out of line to get their ban button at the ready whilst letting others get away with murder. They are constantly on a power trip.. but you've got to feel sorry for them for not having a real job. Overall this site is an intelligence drain & attracts the most mundane people on the internet, it's not a good way to spend time. If you're a loner with not much else to do, I'd favour staring at the 4 walls rather than this, it's the same difference.

The problem lies with the moderators on this site. They come across very uneducated on most subjects which leaves there moderatoring skills alot to be desired. There outlook differs from the next person and who are we to argue as we would only receive a warning, kick or ban. The site is aware of the issues but nothing will ever change. In all fairness we have to pitty the moderators on the site. Most have been on there for years now and have made it there way of life. If that is the only way they can achieve there authority in life then so be it. UKCB is on a downward spiral and has been for a long time.

I been going on UKchatterbox for 7 years and it use to be a safe site a lot of the mods on the site are racist towards Asians they allow a lot of non Asians to call Asian people camels and camel faces and the site is always out of control and the mods allow chatters to give out other peoples personal information and details and pics and full names of people and the mods don't always do anything about this UKCB is a dangerous chat site its full of Racism and recently for over 2 months there has been a Asian gal on UKCB recieving abuse and racist comments from non Asian chatters in Asian and Manchester and Liverpool and London rooms and the mods haven't done anything about it and recently today on March 13th there was a lot of threats in Asian room and abuse in Asian room on UKchatterbox the site is full of racism and abuse and it should be shut down because the mods don't even stop the racism and abuse on UKchatterbox and the mods even ban chatters who do not do anything wrong they ban the good ones but not the bad ones.

I now struggle to find many apart from the regulars that I talk to but now also have on my msn and facebook... There are many more chat sites out there that give the users a lot more freedom and more services as far as I am aware therefore I do not recommend UK Chatterbox.
