Do Not Buy From Sofa.com!!
DO NOT BUY FROM Sofa.com!!
Ordered 5 months ago and still no sofa! First one got lost when they changed warehouses so reordered but still not got a sofa! I thought they were manufacturing me another one but obviously they didn’t and were hoping to locate original one! No apology from the company. Despite constantly contacting customer services only actually managed to speak to an actual person once who guaranteed would call me back but guess what they didn’t. Requested a refund but no response so drove 60 mile round trip back to store to get money back. Staff didn’t care and said not their fault! Read reviews on Trust pilot. They are a sham of a company. Had my money since July now back at the start looking for another sofa.

Smelly And Fly Blown
I bought a feather-filled sofa bed. It was expensive but thought would be good quality. Bit concerned it seemed to attract a lot of flies...the kind you see on roadkill....they seemed to be trying to get down the sides of the sofa.
Then the smell started developing. And has been getting worse and worse. Been spraying with loads of Febreze but now deeply regretting I ever ordered it and wished I had complained and got it taken back when saw the flies.
I think the feathers could not have been cured properly, hence the attraction to meat flies and the ensuing stink.
Never buy from them again nor recommend either!

Awful Service, Once They've Taken Your Money...
I originally placed my order in February, in the Chelsea store, for a Florentine bed and Lulworth mattress. Staff in the shop are very friendly and helpful, unfortunately it's all downhill once they've taken your money...
We had 4 delivery dates rearranged. No weekend slots are ever available. Ultimately when we took time off work for a morning delivery time (today), the bed turned up, but the delivery guys (3 of them) refused to carry beyond the 3rd floor - we're on the 4th. We made it clear when ordering that we were on 4th. When told we would need to provide people to help with the final floor, we agreed, but would only be able to do this on a weekend. As no weekend slots available at all for the foreseeable future, a 4th floor delivery was finally agreed by Sofa.com. We showed this email to the delivery men this morning (and offered to help), but they refused, and have driven off with our bed. Tried to call Sofa.com this morning while this was happening, but no answer! Also no response to various emails.
Now we've paid the full amount and have no idea if we will ever receive what we've paid for! Now they have our money there seems to be no interest providing the product, let alone customer service.
I have never experienced such awful service. I would strongly advise against using Sofa.com ever.
Hello,
Thank you for leaving your review and bringing this to our attention. We certainly never want for anybody to receive anything but the best service and it greatly saddens us when this is not so. I understand that there has been some issues with your order so I am taking it upon myself to personally have everything confirmed and rectified as per our conversation. We truly are sorry for the service that you have received up until this point and wish to assure you that this is not how we wish for any customer to feel.
Kindest regards

Terrible
The sale was perfect, the website was perfect, the delivery was perfect.
Our sofa is nearing 3 years of age and used by 2 adults who treat it with great care. Still, the frame needs repair already. I contacted sofa.com under the 10 yr warranty for the frame. They were quick to send a sub-contractor out to take a look. Sadly the fault was worse after his visit. A new call-out was scheduled but cancelled on the day of the appointment, some 2 hrs after they were due. A new appointment was offered in 2 weeks time, which means 2 more weeks without a sofa, a third day annual leave in order to be at home and who knows if they will show up or are able to darry out the repair? I never had any of this with Multiyork or Colins & Hayes. Invest a little more and save yourself a lot of trouble. The quality seems sub-standard. Worse than Ikea.
Failed Christmas Delivery......
I spent over £4k on sofas and was promised a pre Christmas delivery...I had to chase sofa.com and would not have known my sofas were not coming if I hadn't. Unfortunately they are great at sales point, but terrible when there is a service failure. To add insult to injury they offered me initially 2 scatter cushions to compensate! and after further complaining a further insult of £150...instead of the scatter cushions! They didn't quite get it when I tried to explain that scatter cushions was not going to fix the situation...
We have had to cancel Christmas at our house as I have nowhere to sit my aging mother and father in-law. We have also cancelled our order! I recommend they seriously need to look at their service failure process.
We are heading back to John Lewis....
Unfortunately for us their demand is high so they don't need to react. I definitely felt like a number rather than a person...

Great Styling But Poorly Made.
I've had two sofas from Sofa.com and both have problems. They are both Stellas. One in a rental flat, one in my own flat, bought in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
The first one seemed to have only feathers in the seat cushions and they are constantly going flat. I'd say this was a pretty basic design fault. They seemed to have rectified that problem with the second sofa bought about a year later, however with that one, the feathers are constantly working their way out through the material. Again, this is a really basic design fault. I assumed it would get better over time but it hasn't, and I am constantly cleaning up feathers. Also, despite the sofa being stain protected, some strange marks have appeared on it. They look like stains, but I haven't spilled anything on it. It's almost as if the dye has reacted to something and degraded. It's out of its warranty period so I think my only option is to either buy new covers or to get rid of it. Not very impressed Sofa.com. Great looking products but not ones that are well designed or that last. My parents still have a sofa they bought about 35 years ago and it's in great shape. Mine started looking a bit shabby after only 2 years. Not good enough.
The only reason I bought from them the second time was that they do guarantee they will get the sofa into the building, and as they come apart, this is amlost always possible. I have a very narrow front door and corridor so this was important. If it wasn't for that I'd have gone elsewhere, and will do in future.
Great Review Post, thanks for sharing. It would be a very kind deal if you also include my blog (http://www.bestsofareviews.com) in this list.
Alex
Hi, has sofa.com offered a satisfactory solution? I have the same problem with their sofa - seat and back cushions going flat, out of shape, and need daily re-plumping, which gets quite annoying.
Hello Comfy team,
Yes, I'm well aware that the warranties for these sofas have long since expired. However I was simply pointing out on this website some basic design / manufacturing issues I had experienced with your sofas. From your response I assumed that maybe your after sales team was willing to help me out in the name of good customer relations, warrantee or not.
I have just spoken to someone there who was very helpful and is currently consulting her colleagues as to how they can proceed.
I will update this as and when a solution is found. Hopefully I'll be able to leave a glowing review and be confident enough in your products to buy further sofas from you in the future.
Dear Customer,
When you call, please ask for the email address for our after-sales team. You can then email all the pictures and details to us so we can take a further look into this for you. The Stella is one of our most popular sofa designs and the feedback from our customers over the years has been overwhelmingly positive. The warranty on your sofas has long passed (and this only covers manufacturing defects, not stains or general wear and tear) but we will certainly do our best to help as much as we can.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Kind Regards

Hello Sofa.com comfy team,
I did get in touch directly a couple of years ago, but was told that the solution was for me to buy 2 new cushions for the first sofa at £50 a pop, and new covers for the second sofa at approx £500. That wasn't really an option for me. If you think you have a better solution I'll gladly get in touch and leave a happy customer review after this one.
Is there anyone in particular I should call? I live fairly close to your London showroom.
best regards

No Customer Service!
Bought several pieces at NYC store, only a year later and store closed and can't get anyone to help me with my "fabric warranty" that I purchased to ensure my purchase for 5 years. Attempted contacting them 3 times!!!! Not so much as a one word response. Nothing. Expensive merchandise with no customer service backing, showing little care for anyone that tried to support them in the U.S.

Hassle Free Shopping But Poor Quality
Purchased a sofa, chair and chest and enjoyed the sofa.com showroom and customer service. Unfortunately, after a few years, the material on the sofa has feathers poking through and visible worn spots. Contacted the company and despite purchasing a warranty, they would not honor it or offer assistance. I would not recommend their product - shoddy stuff that doesn't wear well.

Hello,
We're so sorry to hear this. May we please trouble you to contact us again and we can look into this issue for you. Our cushion pads and fabric have a one year warranty from delivery, the Guardsman fabric protection if purchased comes with a five year warranty from delivery. We would be very happy to investigate if you wouldn't mind to drop us line or email.
Many thanks.

Q&A
Does the teddy sofa keep its looks over time? Are the scatter back cushions supportive enough?
Does anyone have an honest and detailed review of the Jack Wills sofa? Thanks.
