“disappointed with car after purchased ”

Went Hilton garage to look at a Volkswagen scirocco and was happy with the text drive. I went round the car and pointed out bits I wanted doing with the salesmen. I gave them a week to get the jobs sorted I went to pick car up and it wasn't finished being cleaned so I waited when I wad called to get the car it looked ok but when home and had a closer look it look like it was rushed being cleaned and the bits I wanted doing had only been touch up when you pay £11600 for a car you expect it to look good and the rear tyres are close to being illegal another cost I didn't expect and to pay a fee £98 for a bit of paper it a joke. I personally wouldn't recommend going here out have a better supermarket car shop 15 miles down the road.

“Terrible service so lost a sale”

We visited today with 'cash' in our pockets ready to buy a car. Unfortunately we were met with a rude sales assistant. He showed us where the car was but as he was walking past again we asked for a drive. He continued to walk then turned to say "Do you have a part ex?" Our answer No and could we have it as soon as? Nah, was his reply, Thursday or Friday. So rude. He didn't deserve a sale...and he didn't get one! We didn't need to part exchange and we had the money to go. We definitely wanted a car today but he didn't get our sale. We went somewhere else! Not recommending this place at all.

“really not happy”

I asked will it be serviced, told yes, light insecure air filter filthy, spots of car polish still on it, fuel filter not changed, tyres no where near correct pressure (too low by 8 & 10 psi) on front. I rang to ask about getting the fuel filter changed and was told its not their problem so its going to cost 30-50 for me to get it done, no car mats, engine cover & bay filthy (yellow colour) & fuel light came on after driving less than a mile after buying it.

“poor sales”

I called beforehand enquiring about the vehicle I was interested in, explained I lived 50 miles away but after thorough research it was the vehicle I wanted,I arrived only to find the car had already been sold. Selected another vehicle but unless the car is in the high price range they're not ready to drive away. I was assured by the manager that the scratches would be repaired before I picked up my car and it wasn't and no manager there on the day to speak to, there was also an electronic fault which meant that the battery drained with the engine switched off so all in all 6 round trips and zero customer care/satisfaction!

“Falsely advertised”

I purchased a 1.6 TDI SEL Volkswagen Polo from Hilton Garage. While the car is running fine, which you would expect with a car not even 4 years old, there were specific items that were advertised which the car simply does not have! This has left me with a slightly disappointed feeling and annoyed at the seller. While I accept I purchased the car "sold as seen", the advert said it had cruise control. It simply doesn't. It also doesn't have a 6 CD changer. They gave me a reasonable price for my car, but the whole experience left me feeling like I didn't trust them. This led to me paying an extra £190 on a full service with a garage I trusted, and then also recharging the air conditioning, costing an extra £50. Therefore, while Auto Trader is a good way of getting a car, I specifically would not recommend Hilton Garage unfortunately. I don't know who will read this review, but if it is Hilton Garage, and they want to speak with me about this, I would be happy to do so.

“Time wasters ”

Visited here last week to enquire about a Suzuki swift sport. I had seen 3 swifts on the website so thought I would go down and have a look. We were approached by someone with a stock list, I asked where they were located on the pitch and he said one was in there depot down the road and he didn't know where the other two were. We walked round the whole pitch with no guidance to where anything was and they were nowhere to be seen. We approached another man this time and asked for his help, he said that 2 of them were in the depot and he also had no idea where the other one was. He offered to go down to the depot and bring one for us to look at, I quote a "2 minute job" he said! Half an hour later, after he messed about talking and looking for the missing keys he finally left to get it, only to return fifteen minutes later saying it had a flat tyre so they couldn't bring it back! He did apologise but offered no alternative and made no effort to locate the other 2 cars, he then said we should give THEM a call back in a few days to see if it's fixed, no thanks you should be ringing me! So after an hour wasting my time I never even got to look at the car I wanted, appalling service.

“Sales assistant wasn't too helpful ”

My sales assistant was very blunt & didn't checked some facts properly, when I went to pick the car up I had to wait half a hour because no one could find him, a window wiper could have done with replacing, & I think they rushed to get it ready for me as it wasn't very clean inside or outside, not what I expected from a well known garage like hilton. Quite disappointed with the service, the sales assistant also joked about how long I was taking to make a decision on buying the car which I wasn't too impressed with it's not everyday you splash out on a £10,000 car

Was very disappointed in Customer Service. I arrived and no one could be bothered to show me the vehicles I was looking for. The salesman just pointed and said "over there"! Having found what I was looking for and purchasing my vehicle I was told that I would have two keys to my vehicle and on picking the vehicle up there was only one. I have been to a Nissan dealer and to get a second key it would cost me 200 pounds instead of 40 - 50 pounds that the salesman told me it would cost.

“ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!”

Phoned these people up, friendly is not the word I would choose. Maybe I got someone on a bad day, he made me feel like I was bothering him when I simply asked for a valuation. This is not what I expect from customer services. I took it no further and went elsewhere.

“bad service, poor attention”

nice car but bad service, just treated us like a number and not an actual customer! not friendly, more like stern talking to us like we are nothing. they promised us that the cars nicks and deep scratches would be repaired to a new condition but it just looks like the car has been coloured in with a felt tip pen, PATHETIC!!! so hoovering the car and cleaning (badly) and colouring in the scratches took a whole week. then to top it off they sent the bloody log book with me without even signing it, ridiculous!!! so lame its untrue! i would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this garage if you require nice friendly and helpful, and above all HONEST service.

“Poor after sales service”

Having bought a car from Hilton Garage with 5 seats, I expected to use all of them. 6 days after purchase I discovered the rear center seat belt catch did not work. A quick call and the car was booked in. I was told the part needed replacing and left presuming all would be taken care of. I found the service team very informal(I'm now thinking slap dash) A month later I am still waiting for a courtesy call to say my part is in and would I like to book my car in. Yesterday i called the service department and spoke to a man with a very off hand attitude who told me to 'hang on I'm just moving a car'(!?) I left my details and contact number and surprise- No call. I went to view in the snow, so I can concur (as per earlier review) that Hilton do not clear the snow, but this is a very big site. The sales man did make great effort to show us around in the cold and did get the car out for us to test drive. Up to the point of collection I was happy. NOW I am appalled at the diabolic level of customer care and clearly cannot trust the MOT certificate which was dated 3 weeks before my purchase. In the meantime I have been sent 3 requests to rate the service provided- unbelievable! If someone from Hilton Garage bothers to check these on line reviews I look forward to some serious but kicking (yes spelling is wrong but they won't allow the correct spelling- good job I didn't sat A) for all concerned.

“Vehicle Service history,spare key, and aftersales service.”

After purchasing my vehicle last month I arrived home to expect there to be a second key in with the vehicle pack. There was no key so I phoned the Sales Advisor to see where the second key was, he advised me that all vehicles were sold with existing keys,he also told me to call to remind him to order the service history for my vehicle to be sent on to me. At no point throughout the sale was there any mention of one key being available, he then went on to say that there is nothing the garage could do about the second key and wanted to put me in touch with the garages locksmith for me to purchase a second key. I did not agree to this and found it totally unacceptable as someone potentially had access to my vehicle. Two weeks passed after being passed from salesman to salesman finally the garage tracked down the previous owner that conveniently lived near to the garage. The spare key and what I thought was the service history for my vehicle arrived through the post, I had a look at the service book it turns out the Chassis number and the vehicle registration in the back of the book had been tippex'ed out and the garage were claiming this was the service history for my vehicle, my vehicle hasn't even done the mileage which was claimed it had in the service book. After phoning the garage extremely annoyed I spoke to operations manager [name removed] who again said that there is nothing that can be done and he would issue a covering note for the vehicle explaining that was what was issued for my vehicle, again I wasn't happy with this so after further negotions we agreed that the right service pack would be sent to me through the post. It arrived today I am pleased to have received it and have no further comunications with this garage All in all satisfied with the car, however After Sales service and customer care lots of room for improvement

“very disappointed poor customer service ”

I recently brought a car from Hilton garage being the 1st time I’ve have brought from this garage and it will certainly be the last time, thinking back I wasn’t happy when I first looked at my car the salesman made me feel stupid for mentioned the alloy nut was rusted is there anything that they could do about this 'its only on the alloys'! when I picked the car up there was no customer care they took the money for the car before I had looked at it to make sure I was happy with it then handed me the keys and said its outside no-one showed me to the car and then when I find the car which you would expect buying a new car to be 'nice and shiny' it had dirty water marks on the outside the alloys were dirty and the inside was dusty I felt very upset about this as buying a new car you should feel happy I felt far from happy and will not returning back to this garage and will certainly not recommend my family and friends to this garage.
