“OK but be wary”

★★★☆☆

written by Jasonr132 on 07/02/2015

Most of these reviews are written in the showroom before you have even seen the car you are picking up. Why? Because they offer you a bottle of wine and a chance to be entered into a monthly prize draw to win a good amount of cash if you write them a review. I feel there is pressure to to this. They are not genuine reviews if you have to 'buy' them. The £100 'Admin charge' is an absolute disgrace as it is well hidden on the website under 'legal'. It should be on every advert for every car because then we wouldn't have driven 100 miles in the first place as I feel these admin charges are nothing short of extortion. The car was actually prepared to a decent standard although it was advertised as '1 private owner' when it was in fact an ex mobility car. The original advertisement had many inaccuracies. Having said that I knew the car was a good one due to my own knowledge and experience. Had I relied on the information supplied by Eddie Wrights alone I would have been very upset. It is a shame that the silly nonsense of being obsessed with reviews tarnished the buying experience for me, if they had concentrated more on returning my calls, not pressuring me to leave an online review and not selling me Gap insurance they would have got a better review. Ironic huh?

We are very sorry you feel wary of us. We would like to respond to your concerns in order, every customer who leaves feedback is entered into our monthly prize draw whether this is done on site or from home. We give our customers a bottle of wine as a thank you for their business. The £99 fee is an Indemnity fee which covers a range of different things including 3 months RAC Breakdown and Recovery, full mileage check with money back guarantee, HPi certificate, a full service and MOT (should the vehicle need one) if not a 77 point safety check along with discounts from our Service and Bodyshop Departments ongoing, annual MOT reminders and 50% RRP Mot discount, pre delivery valet, if you require a number plate retentions we can also arrange that for you. We have compared our Indemnity fee to other dealers and have found it to be one of the most comprehensive and best for value on the market. As you are aware In relation to GAP motor dealers are bound by the FCA regulations to ensure any products offered are fully explained so the customer can make an informed decision. We are very sorry if you felt pressured as this is not what we aim for. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team should you have any other queries.

The advisor was a pleasure to deal with and made the process relatively hassle free. Car as described. Only a few minor details not stated.

“Just found my new car at eddie wrights. Found them on...”

Just found my new car at eddie wrights. Found them on the autotrader website and clicked through to their site. Found a good deal on a 2nd hand audi a3 - best price I'd seen anywhere in 2 months searching online.
Spoke to the sales guy - John - who couldn't be more helpful and was happy to haggle... No hard sell or hassle
Am collecting the car next week and am confident that everything will be fine - would recommend

I bought a car from this company and have never dealt with any company like this. When I tried to complain I was told that no one could get hold of the managing director and I had to go through the operations manager, quite hard as it is him I want to complain about. What can I do about this?
