Honda EU3000IS

I own three Honda generators, a EU2000, EU3000isCA and a EU6500IE. As an electrical contractor you need the most reliable machines on the market for durability, reliability, performance and cost-of-operation. Also they are all very quiet on the jobsite which makes for a healthy relationship with customers and neighbours.

This Honda EU3000IS is easy to use, my wife can use the electric start. I use a manual transfer switch. It's easy on gas. Quiet Engine noise. I live in a Condo so important.

I have owned this unit for about a 1yr and have it wired into my house via the Honda transfer switch. I have used it in several short outtages, but was most impressed when we had an all day outtage. I ran my whole house, inc refrigerator, microwave, TV and DVD player to keep the kids happy, and threw a cord over to my neighbors house so he could run the fridge as well. (heard the microwave run a few times as well) I ran from about 7am to 5pm using the eco throttle feature on 1.6 gal of gas. The unit never kicked out once though I heard it working hard a few times. I had no hot water or electric stove as there is no 220v output, but in an emergency, runtime and durability are everything. Definitely worth the price paid. Oh yeah, is this thing quiet.

Purchasing a EU6500IS next week, will let you know how that one goes.
