Received this as a wedding present and loved how it looked. However, after only a very short space of time the paint started to chip badly, making it look very tatty. It was not a cheap kettle and I would have expected a more hard-wearing finish. It broke today after 4 years of use - again I would have expected it to have lasted longer considering the price. Would not buy again.

Got this Prestige Appliances 42331 as a wedding pressie. Best kettle I've ever had. I often find steam leaks out the handles/lids of the more upright kettles after a bit of use but this one has been water-tight (and steam tight!). It still feels very durable and hard wearing. Well worth the extra money in my opinion.

Won't be replacing my Prestige Appliances 42331 with same again when it goes wrong next time. Need to be careful when it boils. When you pour from it, the steam forces the water out too quickly - and we don't overfill it.
First one - lid came apart in first few weeks - very normal use.
Replacement - conked out after a few months.
Replacement 2 - bottom seems to be corroding very quickly after about a year.
NB previous kettle dies after 25 years!
