Use caution when booking and only do so if the cost savings is good, because it may not be worth the headache. I booked my Tiger flight before reading the Skytrax reviews and was terrified that things would go wrong, which they did. Fortunately I was prepared. The day before my flight, I noticed that it wasn't listed on their site. Contacting them was impossible, so I went to the airport 4 hours early. Luckily, when I joined the Tiger line I got to ask a "real employee person" about the discrepancy. Told that my flight(Melbourne/Avalon)had been cancelled, rescheduled for the next day, and an email had been sent, I politely explained that I had not received any such thing. I was offered a flight leaving in several hours later to Melbourne's main airport instead. Since this had been my original preference, I actually ended up getting to where I wanted to go for a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately this wasn't the case for two other passengers booked on the same flight, who hadn't noticed the "date" change on their email. Based on my experience, if you have read all the documentation, have hours to spend at airports, and can deal with abrupt changes and disappointments well, you might want to consider this airline. You get what you pay for. If the price makes the risk worth it, then go ahead. Expect no services, no customer support, no extras, absolutely nothing, and you may be pleasantly surprised. The flight we ended up taking that day left and arrived on time. I feel sorry for the agents who do everything but actually fly the plane. Irate customers are commonplace for them, so if you run into a problem, try to remain calm and the outcome may turn out positive. Late flights are commonplace, regardless of the airline and excellent customer service is often a thing of the past. Look up your airline service on Skytrax before booking. Check specifics on airports and your route. Use tripadvisor and other reviews. Research and the internet can really help.
