“Terrible Airline”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MonicaM04 on 03/12/2015

I traveled JFK - ROS -MIA last November using Aerolineas Argentinas for the convenience of the connection flight to Rosario, Argentina. The planes were old and uncomfortable, the food was awful, worse plane food ever tasted!, the TVs at the back of the seats were also old and not functioning properly. The flight attendants were MIA after diner, when I asked for water during the flight they were rude and looked annoyed for my petition; during the return flight they even skipped breakfast "for weather reasons", while the weather was fine. But the worse of all, was that in our way to Rosario, our suitcases got delayed, they arrived 2 and a half days later, and they were open, and rampaged, all the best stuff, new and of popular brands, mostly gifts for family, were stolen. I made a claim, and to my surprise, they said that I was going to be compensate! But the inefficiency continues: First they want me to go back to Argentina to receive the payment, then they said that will send it to Miami (I live in Michigan), and finally they went silent. I never received the above mentioned payment. Also, their norms of embark are ridiculous, just before I got to the airplane, and on the boarding line, they made me throw away a bottle of water I bought inside the airport, and as they go through all my stuff in my purse and carry on, they insisted that my lipstick(!) should be in a re-sealable bag or thrown away. I will never again fly with this airline.

“Horrible returning flights to NYC”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tayloros1960 on 22/04/2014

I used to travel with American in my trips to Argentina. I decided to give a try to Aerolineas Argentinas in my trip JFK-EZE-JFK Business Class / Club Condor. The airplanes was ok, the crew had no idea about what to do and were arguing about who was taking care of what in the segment NYC-EZE they did not have cocktails, only wine, sodas, water, cognac and whiskey. They provide you with a menu including one appetizer, three main courses and one dessert. The salad was really lame, the main courses came presented with the same horrible quality of economy class (we paid business!), the dessert was ice cream, hard as a rock, unable to eat. The breakfast was with old bread, old croissant, eggs (horrible) and a sandwich that was a real trash as an option. No need to say that the returning flight was of the same poor level of quality for a business class flight. The lounge in Ezeiza has only packed food what you may understand is not fresh an is of a horrible quality, some alcohol, sodas, and water. I truly do not understand how is Aerolineas Argentinas planning to compete with American Airlines. I truly doubt of the current administrators. I heard that is a political area called La Campora.

“WORST AIRLINE FLYING”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 17/01/2014

I have flown the Atlantic 64 times along with other long distance flights. I am an experienced traveler and when I booked my recent flight to Argentina I went along with my grandson's suggestion that we fly Aerolineas Argentinas but I had misgivings because I had read a dim review. There were many problems. They DO Not answer the telephone and do not communicate nor do they return messages. The flight desk at Miami airport was closed. I was flying business class and my ticket was not cheap and the service was very poor. uncomfortable seats. Very few 'goodies' or perks. Over the Amazon somewhere the plane took a dive downward. The seat belt sign was never put on. The return flight to Miami was far worse. Airline went on strike. Four hours late. NO help with communication. No estimated departure . The plane was old. It shook and in spite of severe turbulence the seat belt sign was seldom on. The turbulence lasted for most of the flight it seemed. Again, few perks in business class. We could have all used a STIFF DRINK! Was the pilot in TRAINING or what. The landing was aborted and we flew out over the Atlantic to return and try again. The landing was worse than terrible. I thought perhaps the plane would fall apart! BANG and SKID! The flight attendant prayed along with other passengers. Please, whatever you do.... DO NOT FLY ON THIS AIRLINE! I was never so happy to be on the ground again!

“Avoid!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/12/2013

At all costs, if possible. Very lengthy, very scathing review below. I purchased tickets for their flights with trepidation, having read all the horror stories. We didn't really have another choice in regards to time and flight routes. They have NOT improved. We're now on the 2nd of 4 domestic flights and they have already screwed us over bigtime. First was Iguazu to Salta. They'd already changed the time by several hours between my buying the ticket and our arrival to Argentina. Good sign, right? They do not bother sending out flight delay alerts and don't update their site even though I checked flight status the morning of the flight. I don't know why either of these are difficult to do. The flight was delayed over an hour upon arrival at the airport so, in total, 4 hours later than I had bought the tickets for. We were MORE screwed because we were driving to Purmamarca, approx 4 hours. It was raining heavily. It was dark. We were on unknown roads. Not exactly a good time. Flight 2/4 - we got up at 4am to catch a 6am flight. No one in their right mind gets up at 4 unless they have somewhere to be. Upon arrival at the airport at 5, we were informed the flight was cancelled, even though by the crowd it looks at least half full. Our given option was to wait for an Andes flight at 8am. At that point, I was beyond pist at having woken up at an ungodly hour when we could have slept for 2 more hours. But, it gets even better! Upon arrival in BA, the next flight to Mendoza is at 2:40 so we must wait 5 hours in the airport (assuming of course the flight leaves on time ha) and our entire day in Mendoza is shot. Can I return to the non-usage of flight updates that every other airline implements? Are they a bunch of sadists who enjoy making hundreds of people wait at airports everyday, wasting their time and ruining carefully planned vacations? I am just waiting in horror at what they will do to us for the remaining flights - one whose time they have already changed 2x. I expect only the very worst. I can't return my tickets, but they can change, delay and cancel to their heart's content. I have traveled quite a bit and on different airlines. Aerolineas are truly the worst and I know my story is hardly new or unique, but I will be posting this in every nook and cranny of the Internet with the faint hope that someone in corporate will change this godawful bull. They do not deserve to be in business. Update: flight 3/4. I'm sitting in Aeroparque - quelle surprise! Our flight left on time from Mendoza- I thought it was a Christmas miracle. I bought, as 1 ticket, a flight to BA with a connection to El Cafayate. There was 40 minutes between flights, which I knew was tight. We were not issued boarding passes for both flights which I didn't realize until on the first plane. I raced to their counter and asked the guard if I would make the Calafate flight waiting on the line and was told yes, No problem. Of course I was told differently by the man checking us in. Silly me, having flown extensively, to be so naive as to think Aerolineas would hold our connecting flight for us when they saw we were on board and needed that connection. As any other airline would do. I asked the manager if they wouldn't make an exception since this was their fault, not ours. We had no baggage to check and only had to get past security. Nope. Didn't care. We were sent first to wait on line at the ticket sales desk, and then told from there to go to an unmarked office across the hall to get tickets for the flight in 3 hours. Super. So why in hell do they sell these tickets as a package when they're physically impossible for anyone to do? 11 days in the country, 3 of them ruined by Aerolineas.

“Aerolineas Argentinas: terrible”

★☆☆☆☆

written by nl2ar on 08/11/2013

On my way to Floripa I did the check online: wrong. Usually you don't have to do more than drop your luggage at the desk and airlines are very happy. Wrong, Aerolineas have people at the desk that don't care about making things easy. The guy there can't send my luggage directly to Floripa: "You did the check in online and I don't know how to put your details so that your luggage at the stopover in Porto Alegre are further sent with GOL." But I bought the ticket from Aerolineas, Buenos Aires-Floripa-Buenos Aires? And Aerolineas do work together with GOL, why not sending it all the way? "Sorry, you'll have to take it out in Porto Alegre and do the check in there again." On the way back a stopover in Sao Paolo. Two hours of delay waiting for the flight of Austral/Aerolineas. Nothing was told, no reason given for the delay. I asked one of the stewardesses why we had 2 hrs delay. "Didn't they tel you at the desk? Most of the crew wasn't in time at the Aeroparque". And the horror was not over: my backpack didn't arrive, it came one day after arrival. Grrrrrrrr for Aerolineas.

“A shame for Argentina”

written by on 25/02/2013

Last month, my brother and I had to fly from Buenos-Aires to Ushuaia to board a cruise to Antarctica. We bought our ticket a couple of months prior to the flight. At B-Aires checkin desk the staff told us they do not see our seat (although we had tickets in our hands) and that we should complain to our agency in Europe. I told them we had to have a seat on a plane as we had our cruise ship living at 5pm and we paid 20'000 USD for this Antartica cruise but the guy just told us that there was nothing he could do. Finally i did give 2'000 USD to a random passenger to buy his ticket so i could board that plane in last minute. The airline at no point helped me for whatsoever. I am very disappointed about the airline and the people in general. Never i will go back to Argentina. But i recommend to everyone for Antarctica!

“Aerolineas Argentinas a flying disaster STAY AWAY”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KretinaKK on 26/11/2012

I was an employee of Aerolineas Argentinas for nearly 10 years. I no longer work for them anymore. I can tell you that this airline is one of the most poorly run and dangerous companies to work for in the world. Everything gets stolen, the mechanics tools, the equipment, the passengers luggage, every piece of luggage gets opened and anything of value will be stolen. The government has their political group "La Cámpora" running the airline of Aerolineas Argentinas. They have made this airline run at a defecit for millions of dollars and they take anything that can be stolen, computers, office supplies, safety equipment, someone was even stealing the fire extinguishers from the aireplanes and selling them for $30 dollars each! Any employee who complains about corruption they get threatened and fired, they go to your house and break the windows and scratch your car from one end to the other for speaking up about the corruption. There are no safety standards you are risking your life flying this airline, there are some countries that will not allow Aerolineas Argentinas to fly their planes in to their airports because the airplanes have no safety and maintenance records. The international community must get involved. The government of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, have stolen everything and corrupted this company and people in the air and people's on the ground life is at risk. AVOID AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS YOU CAN BE KILLED BY THEIR OLD UNSAFE UNMAINTAINED AIRPLANES!!

“Do yourself a Favour, Pay More and Fly a Real Airline”

written by seanhennessey on 09/02/2012

The whole process from buying the air ticket to actually flying with Aerolíneas Argentinas was possibly the worst air travel experience we have ever experienced. Their website is a complete joke, I couldn’t even pay for the ticket I purchased on the website. I couldn’t check-in online prior to the flight. As a result, I spent a minimum of 10 hours on their toll free lines trying to book, purchase, modify, and then travel on the airline. Upon arriving at the airport to check-in, we had to wait 55 minutes with the agent to get a boarding card. That is not inline to arrive at an agent; that is the time spent at the counter with the agent. I have spent less time at funerals. And we still have no understanding as to why, as the agent spoke almost no English. To date, we have donated over $1,400 to Aerolíneas Argentinas and have had just a terrible purchase and flight experience. We bought Condor class and after travelling, I have no idea why anyone would buy Condor class as, other than the seat, there is no benefit. I don’t think Aerolíneas Argentinas realizes that other airlines offer lounges, priority check-in, food that is edible, beverages, etc in business class? They offer nothing other than a nice seat at the front of the plane. I have travelled all over the world on numerous airlines, and I have absolutely no hesitation in stating that Aerolíneas Argentinas is the worst airline I have ever been forced to deal with. I would pay another airline more to avoid dealing with this company again. In fact, I already have as I was originally planning to fly back to Miami with Aerolíneas Argentinas, but I paid more to fly with Air Canada as I knew that at least I could buy a ticket, and actually be able to check-in online the day prior to the flight, plus even get a boarding pas when I arrive at the airport. As I have told my friends and colleagues, do yourself a favour and never travel with Aerolíneas Argentinas; this is a company that is again heading into bankruptcy as they do not have a clue about customer service.

Aerolineas Argentinas is the worst airline to fly with. When I left Sydney to Auckland (2012), my plane was delayed four hours; and on my flight back, it didn't turn up at all! Auckland International had to re-book my flight with one of their aircraft the next day. Also the food was of a poor quality, the service was non-existent, the plane was old, my seat rattled and I felt unsafe. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN.

We had 4 flights with AA. The first was cancelled at the last minute; no information was available and assistance consisted of being instructed to queue for two hours to be told 'get the bus'. The second flight was delayed by two hours. The third was rerouted and involved a 4.5hr bus transfer and the plane stank of sewerage. The final flight was cancelled and then the replacement offered went from El Calafate to BA via Ushuia meaning a 3 hour journey took 6 hours. Staff were indifferent, there was no information available, and clearly AA do not care about the passenger experience. Such a shame as Argentina is a beautiful country, we met the most amazing people, and if AA continue to operate in this way it will prevent a strong tourism industry from being established.

I flew Montevideo-Buenos Aires, in Aerolineas Argentinas. As usual, Aerolineas´flights are delayed or cancelled. In my case, the delay was about 2 hours. There was nobody to ask what the problem was and how lond they estimated that the delay would be about. The plane (Boeing 737-500) was old. No entretainment, food and drinks, were included in the ticket, but they only gave you an orange juice and cereal bar. Crew´s attention was not good. I won´t fly again by this company. I hope yo don´t do as well.

For a 40 minute flight what sort of entertainment and food do you require. I am not a fan of AR, but I think you expect much too much.

If you want your trip to be disrupted and ruined, please fly with AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS If you want to be abused, disrespected, not listen to and robbed, please fly with AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS There's has to be something to be said when the locals tell you they will not travel with their own airline. My flight was delayed, lost my next connection, and they refuse to help with that. Local Argentinean crew was supposed to contact me when exiting the plane, I am still waiting for this, I arrived on Sunday, today is Thursday... I left a message in their answering machine which says they will contact me ASAP, I guess 5 days and still waiting is ASAP...

We spent 4 weeks in Argentina and took 5 flights with this airline. In this time, they lost my baggages for two days, stole my 400USD micoach (electronic device), cancelled one flight with no previous notice, were delayed two times and worst of all: the last airplane we took tried to depart and stop last minute twice due to technical diffculties. We had to wait for 24 hrs for them to fix it and lost our connections to Mexico. The company REFUSED to assist us to solve any problem and kept saying: there's nothing we can do, present your claim on line.

I will never, ever, flight with Aerol neas Argentinas again!

Delayed for almost 24 hrs in Aukland (they lied and said it was an engineering issue and we latter found out it was industrial dispute). Pubic hair on breakfast tray!!!!! On return flight, Captain and crew turned up 2 hours late, sat on runway for another 45 mintures, baggage broken into at Ezirza and personal goods stolen and bag ruined. Same movie played 3.5 times during 12 hour flight...hell in the sky!

I fly frequently all over the world.this was the worst experienceI have ever had with a airline. My luggage and wheelchair as I am Disabled was never put on the flight in Sydney. In San Paolo no one could help us and the worst part they would not give me a wheelchair to use. It took 4 days and at least 40 phone calls with nothing to wear and no toiletries for our luggage and wheelchair to arrive.
We had 3 delayed flights.
Aerolineas dont care and are rude andnextremely unhelpful.
The planes are old and the cabin service does not exist. Not one cabin memeber responded to any calls from Buenos Aries to Aucklnad.
This Airline should be boycotted by every Australian
Suggest you fly LAN instead

What a terrible experience! " internal flights in a month both delayed by over 5 hours. What they seem to do is Cancel flights until they have a full plane. The staff a rude and cl;early do not care at all about their customers. Not once did we receive an apology or even an acknowledgement that we might be inconvenienced. In addition other passengers related tales of lost luggage. I would avoid using them at all costs.

written by on 02/09/2010

Aerolineas Argentinas is the worst airline i have ever encountered. We booked through a travel agent and were unaware of how terrible this airline was run. We had five flights throughout south america and every single one was delayed by over 2 hours, with one flight being cancelled all together. Trying to get information out of this airline is impossible and a complete waste of time. People who have flown with this airline will remember the poor service the dreadful food (gross ham sandwich every flight) and the lack of drinks (even water). On a flight from Rio to Buenos Aires a passenger passed out from dehydration. Admittedly he had been sick before getting on the plane, however the service was so terrible that we were in the air for two hours before a glass of water was anywhere to be seen. My advice on this airline is to avoid at all costs. Accepting the cheaper fare offered leads to long delays, poor service and a terrible start of finish to any holiday.

This is the worst airline I ever flown with, no joke. The flight got delayed by 7 LONG hours, the crew didn't communicate with the passengers at all, so nobody knew what was going on. The actual plane itself looked like something from 80s. There was actually no space at all! No in flight enterntainment, no TVs.
The finale of our journey was when we were goign back to NZ and the flight got delayed again. Twice in 2 days - can't be a coinsedence. You should avoid this airline at all costs, there're cheap for a reason. You will regret flying with them as you'll waste a LOT of your time.

written by on 09/07/2010

worst airline I have flown, first they were late, then they took off before the scheduled time,
my luggage went to Brazil, I arrived to Santiago the abusive employee would not take
my report, I had to insist, gave me a number to call that no one ever answered, finally
got another number, the woman obvously knew about my luggage, but was abusive
as well, and told me this was my fault because I had not made a report in Santiago,
I told her she was wrong I had the report in my hand, she immediately acknowledged
that she knew where my luggage was, said she would schedule a delivery and call me back,
never called me back, I was in the ski resort with just the clothing that I wore on the plane.
she told me that maybe Argentina Airline would give me 100 dollars , and one time only deal.
I am in my third day, ready to go back to Buenos Aires, and no luggage still.

All the employees are arrogant and abusive, they treat you as if they were doing you a favor
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE , and this is shared by most people that fly this airline.
