Tracks are twice the price of alternatives, then they add charges and tax right before you click pay so it's hard to notice, and don't let you download more than once (so if you accidentally delete you have to buy again... Basically a trick, avoid.

Beatport is definitely a great site for DJs hands down but maybe not for people who just want to listen to the music and buy. Me as a DJ/Producer, I feel the only area where they could advance on is by sorting their genres out to a bigger range! For example, Electro house shouldn't be mixed up with all Melbourne Bounce. It makes finding music very difficult to your style. Other than that, it's a pretty awesome website.

Beatport has EULA that is baloney. You buy songs, yet they don't want you to redistribute it even as part of another work, even for non-commercial purposes including fair citation. So I can't include the sounds in a YouTube video? A personal remix over a nonprofit shoutcast?

I think part of the experience, and part of the purpose, of purchasing legal music is so that you can play it for others, mix it, and be interactive. In my opinion, that IS "personal use." Its not about sending the mp3 to all your friends, I can understand they don't want that, but if they think I can buy the "priviledge" to listen to their song, then they are kidding. The whole point of acquisition is ownership, at least partial ownership.

Very very expensive compared to other sites. One track I listened to and downloaded was a totally different once it downloaded.

Look else where and save your wonga.

I"m surprised by the negative beatport reviews on this site. I've used beatport for several years and have downloaded 100s of songs with only minor problems. Downloading songs can be a little tricky because Window Explorer resets the webpage each time you try to download material. However, you just refresh the page and your fine. I've never had password problems and I've never lost a download. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for the hard-to-find electronic tracks. Your account allows you to save your favorite artists, genres, and labels so you know when new material is out (the electronic music industry is known to come out with new "singles" all the time). Its a great place to learn about different genres and see what's hot in the industry. Support Beatport and the electronic industry, stay away from the corporate giants like apple.

The store continually declines my credit card for mysterious reasons, blaming the problem on my bank in my opinion.
The customer services was not helpful I feel, as I felt the the site might have a problem.
