Paid for an event that later got cancelled. Skiddle kept the booking fee. It’s not much but that’s not the point. I’m out of pocket and have paid a fee for the privilege of staying at home and watching TV.

I bought 2 tickets from Skiddle in the evening and by the morning I had whatsapps and emails addressing me by name from a random person with a phone number based in Indonesia telling me to delete Skiddle's tickets and download new tickets from them. I informed Skiddle of these communications and they assured me that the person was the promoter, and that the original tickets I had been sent by Skiddle were valid. A couple of hours later, I received a new email notifying me that the tickets were not valid and my transaction was cancelled. Upon receiving this notification I emailed and called Skiddle to find out if I would get a refund, and what other info they had given to this 'promoter' (home address/bank details?). My requests for a call back and emails have been met with silence. I received a new notification of a refund, but this contained no response to my questions about what other info they had given to this random person who was still whatsapping me. No respect for their customers data - no complaints procedure. DO NOT USE.

Buy 1 ticket & you get a deluge of junk mail... Your details are then sold on to their promoter centre; I don't like promoters as many of them sell 'stuff' other than music events & certainly don't want the likes of them having my personal details... Shortly after I complained to them publicly on twitter my email address was compromised & personal emails forwarded from my account to them!!! Avoid them at all costs & contact the Information commissioner's office, they are VERY bad news!!

One general advice to people reading reviews: If you see too many 5star reviews be suspicious who wrote them and read the negative reviews carefully.
It is normal that gigs get cancelled or postponed but I certainly did
not get an e-mail from Skiddle about this (although they claim they
send an e-mail). To make matters worse they tried to keep the 5GBP
booking fee. Great way of making money on all postponed or cancelled
gigs!
I wrote reviews at 2 different review sites and both were removed
with skiddle intervention. I needed to submit proof of purchase to get
my review back online again. Great strategy to remove all negative
reviews if reviewers don't have time.
Finally one more reason I will never buy from Skiddle again: They dont send e-tickets so you have to show up with your card to get the ticket. What if I could not go to a postponed event and wanted my friend to go? I cant because you need to take the credit card to pick up the tickets at the event. I think there are better places to book tickets with better customer service out there although they did refund my 5gbp booking fee at the end although it took me a lot of effort (including keeping these reviews on-line).

I prepaid tickets for an event 3 months in advance, rocked up to the door to find my name was not on the list..! Contacted customer services for a refund for them to say not their problem and I should contact the promoter..! Thanks skiddle. Take my advice, use ticket master. They're a lot more helpful..

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear you had issues at the venue, this is certainly something that we can look into for you - I have escalated this to our customer services team. As we don't have access to your order number could you please email us so we can ensure we have your correct contact details.

We went online to pick a bar to celebrate Halloween with my partner and found the Zenna Bar through skiddle.com and we bought tickets as the site was stating that we need one. When we turned up at the bar we found out that we didn't need tickets so paid for something that was free. Not good. Wouldn’t use them again.

I object to having to give information that is not relevant to buying a ticket, such as my birthday. I don't mind you asking, but it should be optional. I also don't know why my phone number has to be required as well.
Written on: 09/11/2013
Thanks for your feedback, We ask for your birthday as most tickets have age restrictions. For example sometimes they are adult or child tickets or the event/venue may only allow those of a certain age in, for example 16s and under, 18s and over or 21 and over. Phone numbers are also essential should there be a problem with the event or with your order and we need to contact you to resolve this. Once again, thanks for your review.
Written on: 10/11/2013
Then why not have a tick box - I am over 16, 18 etc when necessary. Similar sites do not have your birthday as a mandatory request. I consider this an intrusion into my privacy.
Written on: 10/11/2013
We're sorry you feel this is an intrusion, it's not an issue we've come across to date. The answer is probably because it's the easiest way of doing it or that's the way we've always done it. Please be assured your feedback will be reviewed and considered.
written by on 09/11/2013
Skiddle was the only company selling the tickets I was after. You still have the old fashioned trick of pre-ticking the box for receiving information - very turn of the century... I un-ticked the box but it looks like you probably also have that old trick of re-ticking it automatically during the form filling-in process. I have since received messages every day from Skiddle. And despite saying I would buy a ticket as a guest you made me a user name. Even for submitting this review you are asking for more info, and again pre-ticking the send me info box. You should make your minds up, do you sell tickets or data? The rest of the service is fine, does what it says on the box, but respecting customer preferences is absolutely essential in this day and age. I'm not certain but you may also be dancing on the fringes of legality with this behaviour.
Written on: 09/11/2013
Hello, thank you for your feedback. Please let us assure you of the legality of Skiddle's practices. Also, please be assured we don't sell our customers' personal data to third parties. You can change your email settings on our site.

Decided to send an email 24 hours before it stared to say we needed tickets as opposed to just bank card. Had no printer. Jokers.

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
On some occasions we need to change the ticket delivery method for an event, for example from e-tickets to RapidScan (our barcoded entry system). We would normally only do this where there has been an increased demand for an event and we do this to prevent long queues, ensuring smoother entry management.
Please email [email protected] with your order details and we'll happily review the order and give you a more in-depth update.

I appreciate high demand for tickets, but I cannot comprehend how you can make tickets available on the website, add a ticket to your basket, then when you go onto the next page, expecting to pay for it... it disappears. That is very poor service and I think that needs re-coding better for future events. In a real life situation, that would be classed as queue jumping. 'I had one of the few tins of beans in my shopping basket and before I got to the till, somebody took it out and paid for it and ran, even though I had it in my basket'. Every other website does not do this. If 'said' company on the internet had 4 items left in stock at that shop, and on my laptop I placed all 4 into my basket, without going to pay for it, it will be classified as 'out-of-stock' on another laptop. I have tried this myself. So it can be done. Sort it.
Written on: 04/11/2013
Hi
Many thanks for your review. To reassure you, our system works exactly as you've recommended, as soon as an item goes into your basket it is reserved for you and nobody else.
For the event in question, there was an extremely high demand for only a few tickets. Tickets are only reserved once placed in your basket, and unfortunately another customer would have added them to their basket and reserved them before you reached the basket, perhaps a fraction of a second before yourself.
We are always improving our systems, but please rest assured this event was exceptional in its circumstances.

I purchased 3 tickets for the Dodgy gig on Nov 14th at Darlington Forum. However my father who was supposed to be coming has had a Heart Attack as he is 67 years old and now we cannot attend. I am disabled and live in Newcastle and with all going on I cannot attend. I paid the Ticket Payment Insurance which by the looks of it was a complete waste of money. I would be happy just getting half the ticket price back. I doubt if this situation is not sorted I will ever use your company again. Very Disappointed. I think I should contact the office of fair trading and trading standards.

Hi Pete
Sorry to hear about your circumstances. TicketPlan is designed to protect your purchase in cases like this. Its run by a 3rd party company -have you contacted them about claiming your money back?
Written on: 04/11/2013
Yes I have and they said no for some stupid idea! Have been completely screwed over! :-(
Written on: 04/11/2013
Hi,
If you want to send over details to us we can take it up with TicketPlan - they may be rejecting your claim if it doesn't meet the T&Cs you agreed to. If you can let us know the reason they have rejected things we will be happy to check for you?
Written on: 05/11/2013
What details do you require? I can call you too make it easier and get this problem fixed.

I asked for and paid for a text message of my order to be sent to my phone but it never came, now its only 10p but its the principle of it, skiddle has said they will do something and then not done it. so i cannot trust them with my personal details

I was charged 10p for an sms I didn't get. On the door of the event there was no list which caused confusion and delay. So I won't be using you again! Please delete me from your email list!

Booked a show in Blackpool to see the cavenites perform a sixties mania night, with video footage etc etc.Booked it for my sisters 50th birthday, we only had one night in Blackpool and wanted to make it memorable. When we turned up, we asked what was on and how much it cost, i had paid 25 for 4 tickets and a bottle of wine.My sister didnt know i had tickets in my bag and when she inquired she was told it cost 12 for 4 tickets, in other words the cheapest bottle of wine they gave us cost us in effect 13 pounds. We got talking to the promoter, who didnt believe how much we had paid until i shown him the printout, he said he was totally disappointed that skiddle was still advertising the event, when it had clearly been cancelled 2 weeks previous. The whole thing was a complete shambles, and skiddle refuse to give a refund. Certainly wont be using skiddle in the future, i wouldnt trust it.

On arriving at the event just after 12 I was told that although i'd reversed a ticket online that my place was not guaranteed after 12 and that after that time they were selling tickets to the public despite being sold out! This was not specified anywhere on the website and meant that anyone who had bought a ticket online would have to wait for someone else to leave as they had filled capacity which even after waiting for half an hour was not guaranteed . I was very disappointed by this as I booked tickets for my birthday and wasn't allowed in. I don't think this sort of system should be allowed and that anyone who had pre ordered tickets for that night and didn't gain entry should get their money back!
Written on: 18/10/2013
Hi
Thanks for your review. The ticket you purchased for this event was a special reduced price ticket but with a condition that you would be guaranteed entry before midnight. After this time entry would depend upon capacity.
These conditions are set by the organiser and made very clear on the event details "Tickets only guarantee entry until 12".
Written on: 19/10/2013
I don't think it was made clear enough! and still disagree with the system, you shouldn't be allowed to sell tickets for something that is sold out you're ripping people off.
Written on: 19/10/2013
Hi Elmo, we will discuss this with the event promoter to see if they can make things clearer on their event description.
If you have a complaint with regards how the venue honor tickets please do take this up with them direct, as any sales made on the night are not in our control.

purchased e-tickets for and event at the weekend and my tickets weren't on the list when i arrived. i showed the organiser the emails i had received from skiddle but this was still not enough to gain entry without paying again. i've contacted skiddle like the organiser advised me to in order to get a refund but i still have not heard back from them.

Thank you for your review, we're really sorry to hear you had a bad experience on this occasion. Skiddle's e-ticket solution is used by thousands of events week in, week out throughout the UK and this has proved to be a very reliable system over the years. Unfortunately, on this occasion it appears the event promoter did not follow procedure and this led to the error occurring. Please review our support email response, your order has been refunded.

Our printer broke and we telephoned to ask if you could send our ticket.Nothing came but our new printer saved the day.At the event the process of checking our bar code took far longer than the cash queue. We will not use skiddle again

According to your website the event hss been cancelled in Preston tomorrow. I have not had a email informing me. I just hope I get a refund without me having to chase it on one of your premium rate numbers.
Written on: 02/09/2013
Hello, thank you for your review. We always refund cancelled events and you should receive an email to confirm if an event has been cancelled. To clarify the situation please email [email protected] with your details and the event details.
Written on: 02/09/2013
Well no email has been sent. I wouldn't of even known if I didn't check their website.
Written on: 03/09/2013
Hello, having reviewed this please send the event details to [email protected] mentioning this thread there.
If an event promoter cancels an event it triggers a process which results in the customers receiving an email. As this hasn't happened it's likely the event promoter hasn't used the event cancellation function. Your help would be appreciated.

Not impressed with your service skiddle.com. Had to answer questions about my phone number, age, which I did not want to when booking my tickets. Had to pay an extra 50p on my booking for rapid scan, had to queue at the event because the scanner wouldn't work!! How do we get the 50p back?
Written on: 01/09/2013
Thanks for your feedback. Please email your details through to [email protected] with specifics about the event and the issues you had, we will then speak to the event promoter and sort things out from there. In terms of your comments regarding our registration we take them on board and are currently reviewing our ticket sales and registration processes.

Despite paying over £25 for 5 of us to attend this event, we were not on the 'list' as promised. The poor guy on the door had a brief list from another website I think but no Skiddle list. Thankfully, because I produced the confirmation email, he kindly let us in. This is completely sub-standard when I paid almost a fiver in booking fees.
Written on: 30/07/2013
Many thanks for your feedback. This is certainly something we'd like to investigate as it sounds as though the venue may not have printed the list we provided them with. If you could please email your order number to [email protected] we will look into this further and refund any booking fees if appropriate.

Thanks for your review. We have looked into this for you an can confirm an email regarding the gig cancellation was sent to you, so apologies if you didn't receive this. We also post this information on the event info too.
With regards booking fees, as with nearly all ticket agents, we incur costs to first process your order, then refund the money afterwards - we do try to refund booking fees where possible, but we can only do this should the event promoter agree to cover such costs.
With regards our entry method, we certainly do send barcoded tickets, as well as physical tickets and the method you described - the options available for each event will vary depending upon the event and venue, so it's not always practical to offer every option. However if you do decide you can't attend an event, you can certainly call us to transfer the order to a friend.
