On Sunday 15 Oct 2017 I had the misfortune to loose all electrical power to my motorcycle while in slow moving traffic on the M5. I managed to get to the hard shoulder and call Britannia Rescue. Due to the heavy traffic it took just over an hour to get recovery. during this time the lady at Britannia Rescue contacted me three times to check that I was okay and to keep me informed as to when recovery would reach me. Car would not start after overnight stay at Dunstan, Northumberland. Called Britannia Rescue around 1000am, who advised AJK Thompson (Seahouses) would attend. Around 30 minutes later technician arrived and diagnosed defective battery. I was concerned that the nearest battery fitting locations all closed around 1230 on Saturdays. Called Britannia Rescue on 13th Jun as my car had lost all electrics. The main man from Noble Autos was on the scene within the hour and diagnosed a faulty alternator. A replacement battery got us moving again as far as their garage in Littlehampton, where Nobles made every effort to get us back on the road in time for our Gatwick flight. My car broke down with a major fuel leak whilst visiting Dumfries from Nottingham, I was advised the breakdown recovery would attend within 90 minutes, Border Cars Dumfries arrived within 30, the mechanic soon found the problem and repaired it. When the car wouldn't start due to engine management issues he persisted and finally got it started, the car was then taken to their garage to be wash due to diesel contamination. Over a 2.5 hours waiting period for someone to come and have a look and sort it in a few minutes. I live in central London so this should have been a 0 minute job. “Damage to my car”

I broke down on my way to holiday towing a caravan. The breakdown driver suggested a garage to me in Leeds and a hire firm and said he would take me to pick up the hire vehicle to get me on my way again and then he would take my car to the garage. Everything fine until I went to pick up my car to be told the breakdown driver had damaged my car. £800s worth of damage. Britannia are refusing to pay and blaming the garage. “Overcharging, patronising charlatans ”

Failed to liaise with my insurance company, gave me the wrong price and refused to let me listen back to the call. Terrible patronising communications, take days and several reminders to get back in touch. The agent sent by Britannia was professional, knoiwledgeable, friendly and spent much, much longer than the "usual 15 minutes" trying to get my car working again. He also explained everything he was doing and why. Local knowledge was excellent, as he knew both the garage I'd arranged to have the car taken to and once at the garage stayed to explain what he'd tried and observed about the car. In the past the service has been excellent but was badly let down when needed most. From call out to pick up 5 hours just off a motorway slip road at night for a lone female. A comedy of errors and very stressful. I complained and left my contact number-never heard back from them. This was my first time using Britannia Rescue as I have never broken down before and I was very pleased with the service I received. I called the helpline as soon as I was on the hard shoulder, the operator was very helpful and supportive, as I had no idea where I was on the motorway as it was pitch back and there was no nearby indicators except an SOS phone. Called out Brittania Rescue for the first time ever today. My car had intermittent problem with starting. When I subscribed yet again to Britannia Rescue this year for again the comprehensive rescue package, it took a flat tyre for me to learn that the service provision in my area (Worcestershire) has diminished to one agent... No one at Britannia made me aware of this when I paid my subscription. The agent arrived after two and a quarter hours, but the service contract is for a customer to be assisted within one and a quarter hours. Have used breakdown twice and very pleased with service including person on the end of phone who was so helpful and put me at ease when you are in a panic . I have been a member of Britannia since 1992 - I had their personal cover. About a month ago I received a letter from ASDA / LV saying I had not made a payment for my cover. I queried this as at no time have had a policy with ASDA ( i had to reiterate this several times). I really didn't get a satisfactory answer - but they did have my account details & said they would take a payment as normal.
