“Absolutely Diabolical Breakdown Service!!!!”

Written on: 14/02/2020 by skJohnston206 (1 review written)

Broke Down and called the breakdown number, who then told me my 65 miles would take 2 recovery vehicles to get me home, as they couldn't find anyone to take me the whole distance ( no joke) 1h 30 minutes later I'm messaged by a recovery agent, saying they will be within the hour, then a message by Britannia saying 3 hours, then they cancelled the first recovery. They can't respond efficiently enough or have zero control over recovery vehicles ( contractors) they add to your stress levels with… Read Full Review

“Shocking service ”

Written on: 26/01/2020 by MrJackson (2 reviews written)

I my car totally lost all power and I stopped on the M3 motorway about noon. The weather was freezing cold. I was advised that it could take up to 30 minutes to rescue me. Eventually after 90 minutes I was rescued. I was frozen cold. I complained to LV and to Britania Rescue both said it wasn’t their fault I would never have expected such a terrible service from LV and will suggest that you don’t even consider them for a break down service… Read Full Review

“Best Breakdown Sevice”

Written on: 02/10/2019 by Sjrbucks (2 reviews written)

I had a flat tyre twice within a space of 3 weeks (different tyres). The first one was on the M5 and the breakdown man put on my spare at the side of the road. He arrived within 40 minutes. The next time I was at work and the breakdown guy arrived with 25 minutes and again put on my spare tyre. When I was with the RAC, it took over 3 hours of waiting and chasing for them to come out. I would definitely recommend this company… Read Full Review

“Well coordinated rescue”

Written on: 22/06/2019

Britannia Rescue coordinated the recovery and transportation of our broken down camper van from a venue about 10 miles north of Banbury to our home repair garage in Sussex while at the same time organising a hire vehicle so that we could continue our journey north to a funeral. An ISIS flat loader arrived at our overnight campsite and took us to the CMG base at Newport Pagnell services, from where it went onwards to East Sussex. Shortly after our arrival at CMG, we were collected by a… Read Full Review

“Pathetic service”

Written on: 30/08/2018 by Alcoe (1 review written)

I have been a member of Britannia LV since 1996, long before they were taken over by LV. I am absolutely disgusted by their poor service. They were called out to a problem at my home address as the car alarm kept going off through the night and as I have held a deluxe cover policy with home assist, I needed someone to disconnect the alarm. For almost 15 minutes they messed around trying to find my policy and not dealing with my emergency. Then they stated they would phone within the hour when… Read Full Review

“What Breakdown Cover?”

Written on: 23/08/2018 by carlos876 (1 review written)

Last Nov/Dec 2017. I joined Britannia Breakdown Cover. After a couple of weeks waiting for my membership details I received nothing either by post or online. I contacted the 'customer service' desk on at least two occasions and was assured the information would be forwarded. I again contacted them and checked they had my correct address and e-mail. I received nothing. In July of this year I again contacted Britannia and WAS ASSURED that the information would be sent. Guess what? NOTHING. I… Read Full Review

“Horrendous journey - my saviours”

Written on: 12/08/2018 by lynnegeldart (1 review written)

I was returning from Dorset to mid-Wales yesterday afternoon when, after stopping in a layby on the A31 for lunch, my car refused to start again. I called Britannia Rescue who, within half an hour, sent a lovely young man from Ravenscroft Motors whose magic touch restarted the car. He sent me on my way with a recommendation to get the battery checked. About 3 hours or so later I was just south of Leominster when I stopped at a service station, but unfortunately drove over a deep kerb on my… Read Full Review

“Over 2 hrs 10 mins in major city and still no sign”

Written on: 14/06/2018 by 275Choate (1 review written)

Sat at the roadside with a flat battery. I was promised ‘up to 90 mins’ now 2 hrs 15 mins. Multiple calls by me to BR and they then call local provider who have given excuses that are clearly not truthful - ‘stuck in traffic’ ... nowhere in bristol would take over 2 hrs fromthe time and location they supposedly set off. They also promised BR they would call me direct but haven’t. Who knows if they will ever actually appear??… Read Full Review

“My heroes”

Written on: 24/12/2017 by jawatton (1 review written)

Had a blow out on M40 today which was not good on a Sunday which happens to be Christmas Eve. Recovery tried to get me a new tyre but car parts sales shops shut at 12.00pm. The lady at the end of the phone from LV was reassuring and made me feel safe. The recovery guy was very efficient and a lovely man and transported me from Oxford to Essex. My son needed LV recovery a year ago on a Bank holiday Monday and they only took 30 mins to get to him… Read Full Review

Written on: 20/10/2017 by RachelLloyd (1 review written)

On Sunday 15 Oct 2017 I had the misfortune to loose all electrical power to my motorcycle while in slow moving traffic on the M5. I managed to get to the hard shoulder and call Britannia Rescue. Due to the heavy traffic it took just over an hour to get recovery. during this time the lady at Britannia Rescue contacted me three times to check that I was okay and to keep me informed as to when recovery would reach me. This is the first time that I have needed to use this service ( although I have… Read Full Review

“Breakdown - 19 August 2017”

Written on: 22/08/2017 by WestieWalker (1 review written)

Car would not start after overnight stay at Dunstan, Northumberland. Called Britannia Rescue around 1000am, who advised AJK Thompson (Seahouses) would attend. Around 30 minutes later technician arrived and diagnosed defective battery. I was concerned that the nearest battery fitting locations all closed around 1230 on Saturdays. The technician phoned a local supplier, then obtained authority from Britannia Rescue to go and collect and fit new battery. Many thanks to Britannia Rescue and… Read Full Review

“Noble Autos, Littlehampton”

Written on: 22/06/2017 by DorsetHolland (1 review written)

Called Britannia Rescue on 13th Jun as my car had lost all electrics. The main man from Noble Autos was on the scene within the hour and diagnosed a faulty alternator. A replacement battery got us moving again as far as their garage in Littlehampton, where Nobles made every effort to get us back on the road in time for our Gatwick flight. Unfortunately, despite fitting a new alternator, other complications (and time constraints) meant we had to leave the car with them and collect it the next… Read Full Review

“Excellent service, amazing mechanics attended”

Written on: 10/06/2017 by PRosindell (1 review written)

My car broke down with a major fuel leak whilst visiting Dumfries from Nottingham, I was advised the breakdown recovery would attend within 90 minutes, Border Cars Dumfries arrived within 30, the mechanic soon found the problem and repaired it. When the car wouldn't start due to engine management issues he persisted and finally got it started, the car was then taken to their garage to be wash due to diesel contamination. This service was OUTSTANDING… Read Full Review

Over a 2.5 hours waiting period for someone to come and have a look and sort it in a few minutes. I live in central London so this should have been a 0 minute job. They use different companies and don't have any of their own vans etc. Certainly won't recommend and I will be cancelling my policy tomorrow. Not acceptable… Read Full Review

“Damage to my car”

Written on: 11/10/2016 by g.hodg (1 review written)

I broke down on my way to holiday towing a caravan. The breakdown driver suggested a garage to me in Leeds and a hire firm and said he would take me to pick up the hire vehicle to get me on my way again and then he would take my car to the garage. Everything fine until I went to pick up my car to be told the breakdown driver had damaged my car. £800s worth of damage. Britannia are refusing to pay and blaming the garage. They have just washed their hands of it and told me its my problem. As… Read Full Review
