I have been with them from before the transfer to Equiniti. I have found customer service to be responsive but generally of little help. The web site is dire. Lots of bits don't work and you have to figure out your own workarounds. I have brought several issues to their attention. They can't help, and nothing is ever done to fix the problem. On the plus side, their accounting is sound and they are reasonable value for money. A recently introduced charge for holding funds is a disappointment, but to be expected in view if recent regulatory changes.

I am using them since they were Comdirect. I notice the level of Customer Service and their website is deteriorating each year......

Selftrade provides me with adequate UK market research information and an acceptable share dealing service to handle my SIPP and ISA shares. Selftrade has handled a number of new share issues very efficiently. The trading platform can be slow at times of high activity but as I'm not a daytrader it usually works fine for me. Identification of shares not eligible for ISAs could be made sooner in the dealing process. The dealing charges seem competitive except the annual fee pushes these quite high if I don't trade very much. I'm staying with them but looking at alternatives (mainly to spread my holdings between more than one broker).

Key words: 'adequate', 'acceptable', 'slow at times', 'annual fee', 'quite high' perhaps most important 'alternatives'. Really wish I'd read all the reviews before using this useless company.
