“Lock you in and don't even bother to tell you”

I got ADT after my apartment was broken into and I was robbed. I had issues with the system not working because I didn't have good cell service. They finally fixed it with a cell tower hookup. I ended up moving out of my apartment and need to cancel. No one bothered to tell me up from I was signing a 3 YEAR contract with them. We had an ADT alarm in our previous home (bought through an agent) and were quite content with the service. So when we moved to the West Country it was a logical choice choose them again. Sadly, this was the worst decision we could have made. The sales process was a joke. 3 incompetent people have lied to me. My house was burguled and NOBODY contacted me from ADT. I then called to log this with them the next day and I said why didn't it work. They said probably a fault and they can send out an engineer?!?!?! SERIOUSLY. I've just had £17k worth of goods stolen. Had to have an engineer to replace door sensor after having a new door fitted. Was charged £120 and after his visit my system wouldn't set properly as he had altered some settings. Had booked to have my front door changed and contacted ADT in advance as didn't want builders to tamper with alarm. ADT advised me of labour cost £100 plus VAT for 1st hour... what choice did I have? To avoid the cost twice I was advised to remove the front door without touching or moving the actual sensor... therefore this was kept intact so only needed to call out engineer once to take off old door and put on new. “Crazy high prices and bad service”

This company have written themselves a licence to print. As a small business we have finally been bullied into paying over £1000 for 6 bottles of Smokecloak fluid that I found elsewhere on the net for around £35-£50 per bottle. Constant false alarms result in massive callout charges. If you must use them, have a contract to cover it all or you will end up crying every time there is a false alarm. “Disgusting Company - AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

This company is a total waste of space. Whilst technically the alarms are good, don't expect any help or support when needed. Despite having an expensive monthly contract in place, they will attempt to charge you for callouts, citing any excuse possible to charge. It gets worse; you pay for 2 services a year which they used to visit and check everything by hand. Appalling after sales and fault reporting. 10-20 calls a day to me and my contacts due to faults. I had to panic and drive home. Also, my emergency contacts do t want to be on the list due to harassment. Our landlord sold the unit we were renting and the alarm system in the unit was with adt. This was already installed when we took over renting the unit. Told adt about the landlord selling the unit and that it was no fault of our own and was told there was a £1,000.00 cancellation charge. Our ADT alarm was installed in early 2014, since installation it has constantly set off false alarms, numerous engineer visits later ADT acknowledge the alarm was installed incorrectly. We have been with them for 2.5 years with an alarm that never worked, and that their engineers couldn't isolate why it wasn't working. “moving monitoring to ADT as a New customer ”
