Quiet, No Problems
I have had this dishwasher since I bought the house in 2005. The best feature is it is very quiet. It seems to work fine. No problems or repairs needed. I will say I do rinse the dishes before they go in. I can't bring myself to skip that step. For this reason, I can't speak to what it would do if the dishes weren't rinsed.

I am a custom cabinetmaker and have always seen these installed on my jobs so I thought they were a good dishwasher "wrong" what a pile of same issues as everybody else . Did cut down on the soap 1/2 teaspoon and cleaned the dishwasher with hydrofloric acid which got rid of all the white junk. Still a pile of

I have had this Bosch dishwasher for two years. In that time we have had at least five repairs. The first two were covered by the warranty, the last three were not. I have paid more in repairs during the last three episodes than I paid for the washer.

Have had the Bosch SHU66C for almost 4 years. It's never worked well since day one. Very poor dishwashing, water sometimes left in tub (despite checkups by plumber), just doesn't clean well at all.

I Purchased A Bosch Dishwasher In July 2003 Based
I purchased a Bosch dishwasher in July 2003 based on the positive reviews it received. The model # is SHU66C. I have had nothing but problems with it since it was purchased. It was not cleaning the dishes properly so a repairman came and replaced a part.
The dishes tasted soapy. I was told I was using too much soap although I was using substantially less than recommended in the manual. I was told I must have hard water or soft water. I have neither. I was told my dishes must not be dirty enough, stop using soap. This left the dishes feeling grimy. I needed to make sure to clean with vinegar periodically and clean filter, which I did.
I was getting brown spots on the cutlery which I had to take steel wool to remove. I was told that with a stainless steel interior you cannot mix metals so I would have to wash cutlery separate from pots and pans and some pots and pans I could not wash together. I also could not have cutlery touching each other as this also caused the brown spots. No dishes could be near each other because the water would not be able to clean the dishes properly. I now wash pots and pans by hand and often have to rewash, by hand, glasses and cutlery, even dishes on occasion. If I try to rewash dishes in the machine, they come out with a film on them.
Now, after four years the machine just stopped working. It stopped in the middle of the cycle. When I tried to restart, the lights on the control panel flashed momentarily and then the machine died. I am now told I cannot get a service call for 3 weeks and even if it is the control panel (which would be covered under warranty), it would cost $99 for 18 minutes and $12 for every 6 minutes after that.
I had a Kitchenaid for 20 years and never had a problem with it. I was also able to wash dishes, cutlery, and pots

I Would Never Buy A Bosch Product Again. We Paid
I would never buy a Bosch product again. We paid $1000 for our Bosch SHU66C dishwasher and it is the worst appliance we have purchased in over 32 years. Ironically, Consumer Reports recommended it.

I Was Originally Considering The Purchase Of A May
I was originally considering the purchase of a Maytag Dishwasher before opting for this Bosch SHU66C05 and I have to say it's a purchasing decision I don't regret. My main specifications when deciding on which dishwasher were the quietness of the product and as well as the quality and reliability. I am happy to report that the Bosch was equal to the task. As far as the noise factor goes, you almost forget that the dishwasher is turned on as it operates in virtual silence! Bliss! The interior design is practical and as yet has been able to accommodate anything and everything I have thrown in it. There is also a very sleek drying feature. The washing and drying elements of the product are second to none and the washer produces excellent results. The washer also helps protect your fragile items as you can choose from options such as
delicate/china to pots and pans. I have yet to find any genuine negatives in my assessment of this dishwasher and I have come away as a very satisfied customer.
This dishwasher isn't the cheapest on the marketplace, but if you've got the cash then you won't be disappointed.
I Have Bosch Model Shu66c, Paid $1000 For It And A
I have Bosch model SHU66C, paid $1000 for it and absolutely hate it, not to mention they have the worst customer service on the planet.
The first dishwasher didn't heat the water at all, and the two technicians told me it was because of the way the house was plumbed. The dealer took it back, replaced the control panel, and sold it as used.
They ordered a second one, which did have hot water...so it was not my plumbing. However, this one heats the water too hot (and it's programmed for the lowest hot water setting). It causes the detergent to suds, even through the rinse cycle. All my dishes have a baked-on suds residue that I can't get off.
I have worked with the Bosch N.A. Northwest Service Mgr. for the past 6 months to get resolution. I wanted them to take it back (dealer won't take it back as they already ate the cost of the first one, since Bosch didn't pay for the problem.) They have decided not to do anything, and left me a rude message saying I don't know how to use my dishwasher.
Bosch is not concerned about having satisfied customers. I will never buy another Bosch appliance just based on the terrible customer service, and I definitely do not recommend their dishwasher.
For the price I paid, I was expecting much more. Our Bosch stainless has the worst cleaning performance of any dishwasher I've ever owned. There is a white, chalky residue all over everything, including the dishwasher. After the first 6 months, the shop sent the repair tech out and he said it was the fault of our:
- Plumbing - (too long of a distance from water heater to dishwasher)
- Detergent (using too much)
- Rinse Agent (using wrong amount)
Well... we have tried everything he suggested and NOTHING has helped.
I am so sorry I bought this dishwasher and I will NEVER buy another Bosch again.
And, add me as a VERY UNSATISFIED BOSCH customer. I also had two models -- first one lasted 60 days (from Nov. 2003 - Jan 2004), next one 30 (from Jan 2004 - Feb 2004). I was able to get a refund from the retailer from whom it was purchased and they are picking it up within a week. In both instances mine just QUIT WORKING! I am now on to Miele #894SCI. Had a Bosch SHY66C06UC. I have made a comment re this on this website--but, it is has not posted.
I too have had problems with Bosch. I bought a SHY56AuC114 in November of 2003 for $1000. After 6 weeks it stopped working. A service rep came to repair the unit and he fried the panel. Then I was told that the part was on backorder and they did not have an anticipated delivery date. After much conversation with the dealer they came and replaced the unit. Low and behold, six weeks later it does not work again. I called Bosch and they were rude and offered no help. I too will never buy another Bosch appliance.
