My 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport has so far proven to be absolutely fantastic! The seats and seating positions are comfortable for me and my family and we can get all 5 of us in with loads of legroom in the rear.
It has been reliable and really is a car to be seen in, the front panels of its roof are easily removable but you'll need a friend to help you off with the rear section. The diesel engine is reasonably quiet at startup and gets quieter from there.
Servicing is a DIY job for me, leaving me free from the rather expensive Jeep Chrysler service regime that seems a little expensive.
Yes, it is a little thirsty (24+ MPG) but its so much cheaper than my previous TJ and YJ Wranglers with their thirsty petrol engines.
Would I buy another? Too right!

Archaic doesn't come close. Looks the biz, but it ends there. None of the doors have stops on them, so if you're not careful when exiting, the door will swing to and cut your leg off. The tail gate is nightmare and won't stay open unless you wedge it. I have the optional soft top, which is a joke. Takes forever to lower and god help you if you're caught in a cloudburst 'cos you'll be drowned before you get it back up. When you do it'll leak.
As if all that wasn't bad enough, the luggage space is almost non-existent. The only way we can get anything bigger than an eggbox in the back, is to roll the back seat forward. Trouble is, you can't lock it in that position, so ours is permanently strapped in the folded position so we can use the vehicle for shopping. Classy. On road ride shakes your fillings loose. Good sound system though.
No wonder folk buy Jap 4x4s. Any chance Chrysler/Jeep will enter the 21st century?

This Jeep Wrangler 2.8 CRD Sahara UnLimited is a great 4 wheel drive, semi work vehicle
but don't buy it if you want to take the kids to school every day.
it travels along the 'A & B' roads nicely with great off road capability
most of the new 4x4's are built for for people that want to be seen in a 4x4, but not use it for what its required.
This Wrangler does exactly what it was built for
+
has room to take passengers.
