Ripped Off

A coplete and utter disaster!!!

Amazing service from the advisor who works there. Then to find out that they lied to me about my dresses being discontinued so I would pay sooner and then one month later going into liquidation.

I habe lost everything.

Any bride thinking of going to one of these stores should go to another stockist. Stay away from this company, if there are any still open. I dont want any other bride going through what I have.

I am going through exactly the same thing right now! How far away is your wedding? I would be interested to hear your experience!

Pronuptia Manchester - Disgusting Service (2013)

My sister ordered her wedding dress and 6 bridesmaid dresses from this store. The service she received after she placed the order was disgraceful.

The staff were miserable and rude; and there was absolutely no happy atmosphere in the store.

The bridesmaids had their fittings in the menswear department because "there was a bride in the main room".

The staff would also have made my sister try on her wedding dress in the menswear department had we not mention that she too was a bride, and had made an appointment.

During the fitting my 14 year old daughter was harshly scratched with one of the pins, leaving a nasty red mark that was sore for days afterwards.

The staff showed no interest in my sister whatsoever.

They did not tell her about having any ribbons or anything put into her dress so that she could put it up during the reception.

They did not show us how the dress was to be fastened up.

We all left the store fuming with the service my sister received....a huge amount of money had been spent, and she didn't even get a smile from the staff.

When the dresses were collected they were going to put the wedding dress in a bin bag "because you haven't purchased a dress bag", there was no communication beforehand that this had to be purchased.

My sister was told to "hold your arms out", where the staff dumped the dresses onto her arms.

She was not helped out of the store.

The final straw came when the dresses were put on and they did not fit properly....they had screwed up the alterations big time (which my sister had paid a lot of money for on top of the price of the dresses).

I would strongly advise all future brides to steer clear of Pronuptia in Manchester.

Poor Customer Service Skills!!!

Never go to them once you pay deposit it goes down hill from there!! asking for more money because a designer wants more money even though there is an agreed cost!! bad business!!! so this is what i had to send to them to night!!

With regards to my order of my dress.

I am letting you know I wont be proceeding with the sale. I was just disgusted how you spoke to me yesterday on the phone. I found you completely abrupt and very hostile regarding the situation and your customers service skill are very questionable as well!! At the end of the day I would of be handing over the guts of near ÂŁ1200 pounds to you and I had every right to question you.

So after thinking about it all I don't feel comfortable doing business with you. Buying my dress was meant to be a pleasant experience and in my eyes you ruined that!

I am fully aware I wont get me deposit back, I feel happier cutting my loses than deal with you again.

I would not recommend Pronuptia to any potential brides.

I found the customer service to be pretty good until you have paid your deposit - then completely downhill from there on.

My instinct was to use an alternative store, however as one of the only stockists in the area of the bridesmaids dresses that I wanted, I went ahead and ordered - and wish that I hadn't.

The sales team will try to panic you into paying extra for rushed delivery - we didn't take this and the dresses arrived in plenty of time. It is sad that sales teams associated with weddings will prey on a bride's emotions and try to make more money out of them in this way.

Once the deposit was paid, the promises of updates once orders had been placed and prospective delivery dates were never followed up - I had to do all of the chasing. Neither did I get a phone call once the dresses had arrived.

And to add to this, the expensive alterations were done incorrectly, with no apology or offer of a reduction, just the inconvenience of a bride having to make unnecessary trips to the store.

Awful service, not recommended.

Trousers

After a few visits to the Bromley store I decided to hire the mens suits from them. What a huge mistake I made, How could anyone measure 4 men and get it so wrong. The groom had to wear the bride's fathers trousers as his were 2" too short. My dad's trousers were to small so he had to wear his own black trousers and the other two sets of trousers were to tight round the waist. One pocket had tobacco in it so hadn't been cleaned properly and one shirt didn't have the cuffs to put cufflinks in. So all in all it was a real cock-up to say the least.... I just hope that another wedding party didn't have to endure the same problems as us. I did wonder if our suits were meant for someone else. Please take my advice don't go to that shop...Then you can't be dissapointed....

Started Off Well But Got Worse

I went to the Pronuptia Hatton Garden store last April to try on wedding dresses. The sales assistant was lovely and friendly and there is a decent sized area to try on wedding dresses and walk around in them (some stores I went to were tiny and poorly lit). They do have a large decent selection of dresses. Sadly that was the last time I had good service from them.

I went a second time to try on the dress I liked and show my Mum. The sales assistant then was a new girl who was undergoing training and was very disorganised and didn't know what she was doing. She couldn't even give a vague estimate of how much the alterations would cost.

The first dress fitting went OK, but I was left waiting for a while before anyone came to put me in my dress. As we were paying for the alterations at the end a lovely man from the menswear upstairs was helping and giving advice on bringing a decent dress cover for the final fitting so we can take the dress home.

I've just had the second dress fitting - I came armed with my dress cover and my mum ready to take the dress home. Not only was I left waiting for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence or came to put me in the dress, the seamstress HADN'T FINISHED THE ALTERATIONS!! She had done two of the alterations (one not very well) and just tacked the hem up. She was checking the length and when she asked when my wedding was, she was then suprised when I said "Next week". We told her we had expected to take the dress home and had come a long way and didn't want to have to keep coming back to the store. We've given her 2 days to finish it, but I am now getting a tad nervous that we'll turn up and she still won't have finished!

Beware Of Pronuptia Belfast

The first time you go to the shop everybody is so friendly and helpful, after that the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.

Once the cheque is handed over they do not want to know.

Went into the shop to pay for the dress and accessories. My daughter had ordered a swatch of the dress material to purchase shoes but she did not get it and one year later she still has not got the swatch. Her wedding is in 5 weeks time. She also ordered a yard of SATAN MATERIAL to have straps made. They gave her TAFETTA MATERIAL. So 5 weeks before the wedding she has to source the material herself.

She went for her first fitting and nobody showed her any attention, her sister the Bridesmade had to put her into the dress and remove it again. The staff were all too busy chatting about a forthcoming function and what they would wear.

The day she went to pick up her dress, there were 3 other brides there trying on dresses. One of these brides we knew, and as the shop is so open the bride actually saw my daughter in her dress (they were from the same location)

I HOPE THIS MAKES PEOPLE AWARE OF THE POOR SERVICE PROVIDED BY THIS SHOP

Absolutely Appalling!

Never been on a review site before, have signed up to many as a result of my experience at Mia Sposa Pronuptia to try to stop others going through the same thing. In short, 11 errors with the wedding dress, including things being spilt on it, hidden holes in the seams, empty promises and a whole lot of unneccessary stress. Talking to other customers it seems it wasn't only us. Am fighting tooth and nail to get my money back, please don't give them yours. Awful, awful, awful.

Unprofessional And Unfriendly

I visited the Pronuptia Central London store yesterday (recommendation: don't look for Pronuptia on the sign - I had to walk a lot because I was looking for 'Pronuptia,' but they have changed their sign and since some time, they call themselves Mia Mia - but how do you know? They could at least update their website!). I had an appointment, and the store looked pretty calm - no other customer. I had just started browsing through their dresses (as indicated by the assistant) when she started pressuring me to choose immediately what I wanted to try out. I replied that I wanted to have a brief look at all the stock (especially because you can try only 5 dresses, she was adamant on this) and then decide, but she insisted anyway and so I was forced to pick some out without knowing if after that I would have found something I liked more. At that stage, I had already decided that I didn't want to have any relationship with this store. I had very little help and the experience felt pretty much as if they just wanted to 'get it done'. Minimal assistance and participation. I'm very patient and accommodating, and not used to complain, but the experience there was really quite sad. Don't go there if you want to be helped and supported in what is, after all, a very significant purchase for your 'big day'. They have a reasonable selection of mid-price gowns (mostly the 'White one' line of Pronuptia and San Patrick, also some Maggie Sottero) and a good number of samples on sale (especially if you like beaded and/or lace dresses), although their samples can have damages. Average price below 1,500 pounds.

Mia Sposa/pronuptia Cockfosters

Incredibly rude woman serving us!

I had driven past this shop a couple of times and decided to make an appointment to try on a couple of dresses. I brought my mum along with me. I had heard one negative report from this shop before but decided to go along with an open mind.

As we walked into the shop the lady (who was serving us, named Sarah) said she recognised me from school and we talked for a couple of minutes before trying on the dresses. I found a couple of amazing dresses, one of which is now a dress I am ordering somewhere else.

After finishing trying on the dresses my mum asked her how much one of the dresses would cost and without meeting my mum's eye she said 'I'm just writing it down for you'... My mum then asked her about the cost of another dress at which point she looked up at my mum (gave her the filthiest look and shouted at her 'I am just writing down all the prices for you!!'). My mum and I were completely taken aback at her attitude and rudeness and left the shop barely able to say bye to her as she had made us feel so uncomfortable.

I have never written a review positve or negative about anything before. After we left my mum said she did not once make eye contact with her the whole time we were in the shop. We are not the type of people who get easily upset about things but I just cannot believe that someone would treat a customer in that manner and expect that they would then spend over ÂŁ1000 in their shop.

Even a customer annoys you you do NOT snap their head off and glare at them if you have any kind of professionalism, manners or sales technique whatsoever.

Even if you are having a bad day you learn how to fake a smile and bite your tongue! It's called good customer service. I have been into five other bridal shops so far and in every one we have had fantastic, relaxed and professional service with a smile. I found my dress (the one I tried on at Mia Sposa in Cockfosters) but I have found a stockists that deserves my custom.
