The Vilamoura, Dom Pedro Marina Hotel is located on a road behind the marina, so within a 2 minute walk you are at the beautiful marina, where there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach, which looks gorgeous, but the sand was full of broken shells which were very uncomfortable to walk on, and the sea was full of shells, stones and dead fish.
The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff were always very helpful, and they all understood English.
Our room was on the third floor, and was spacious with a nice sized bathroom. Our view was of the sea and pool area, but only because we paid extra for a sea view room, but we felt it was worth it.
The breakfast was always nice with a wide variety of foods, and we were never rushed.
The pool area was nice and clean. The pool is small and not really suitable for swimming lengths in, but is ideal for children. There are plenty of areas to sit in with the sun, or shade provided by the gorgeous palm and willow trees. There were plenty of sun loungers and towels available free of charge at any time of the day. The hotel operates a policy where sun loungers cannot be reserved which was great.
Overall this hotel and resort is suitable for both couples and families.
