Time Ships by stephen Baxter is the sequel to Wells classic time machine, plot sees wells travelling back in time to resue his beloved Weena from the morlocks but realises that his time travel has opened paradoxes with severe effects on humanity.
In his new travels he befriends an intelligent morlock and discovers the alternate paradoxes in time and the true implications of his first time travel. In his vain attempt to put everything right he sees that he is helpless and subsequently sees the end of his world, however all is not lost as superior intelligent beings in the future put Wells interference right, return him to his love and remove the paradox that threatens all existence of man.

The Time Ships by Stephen Baxter was too original. Hope to Time travel by Paul Curran was more fun to read cause it was more inventive.
