This unit broke down on us in January of 07, its now April of 07 and we still don't have our unit working. I've been calling Kitchen aid, the extended warranty company, and the service company and none of them are helpful. Attention people in IL, do NOT select Service Maintenance as a repair company. I swear its a two man company. No one there knows what they are doing. The people that I talked to barely spoke English and the techs have no idea on how to fix the appliances. This has been the worst experience that I ever had with an appliance. After all that is said and done and almost 5 months later, they offered me a replacement unit which they will only cover 75% of ,which means I still have to pay about $150 because a new unit costs $500. Don't ever buy Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products. I hope Kitchenaid reads this and I hope they would get in touch with me, because I am going to tell everyone I know not to buy these products.
