Worked Fine Until Out Of The Guarantee. Then

Worked fine until out of the guarantee.

Then magnetron failed, inverter failed, overheated.

Unit was not worth repairing and panasonic would not help.

I Have Now Had Two Of This Type, Both Of Which Hav

I have now had two of this type, both of which have given up the ghost in less than two years. The model is greta when it works but is not worth the hassle. I would agree with the reveiwer who said never buy a model with an inverter. I also found Curry's "Top Guys" insurance took over 2 months to respond to my request for a replacement!

We Have Owned This For 3 Years, when It's Working I

We have owned this for 3 years, when it's working it's brilliant but when it goe's wrong it's really a throw away item. We spent £70 on it being repaired and it give up in less than 3 months, the problem with these models and similar is that they have a built-in inverter which increases the voltage/power to provide more watts to speed up the cooking process, the inverter is the issue here. Never buy any microwave with a inverter, purchase a standard one and it will outlast any with a built-in inverter.

We Bought This Microwave When Our Old Panasonic Pa

We bought this microwave when our old Panasonic packed up after donkey's years of good service. We hummed and harred whether to go for the convection oven option but we are now very glad we did. It's great for baking part cooked bread rolls and for using quite literally as a conventional oven. The microwave options are good controls easy to use after a bit of practice. The receipe book includes sauces and it must be the easiest way to make white sauces for fish pies, etc. very pleased and no brekdowns.

Having Had My First Panasonic Microwave And Grill

Having had my First Panasonic microwave and grill for 10+ years I bought another when it finally gave up. I invested in a new one at £169 in the hope it would last. I had the new one a year and 10 days when it stopped working. Panasonic did honour the guarantee thankfully as it was a major part that had gone. Three months later it is already cutting out during programmes. Am now looking to replace with a cheaper model. The repairer said they don't build them the same any more. He should know as he repairs them!

Our Old Panasonic Microwave Finally Expired And We

Our old Panasonic microwave finally expired and we decided to buy a combination cooker. The instructions are reasonably clear and operation straigtforward. It is important to read and follow the instructions and get used to the oven. e.g. adapting the timings to allow for smaller quantities. I agree with a previous contributor the 'real' buttons are excellent. I hope the oven lasts as long as our old Panasonic, but reading a previous review this might be wishfull thinking. Time will tell. N.B. I am unable to comment on Durability or Service but system requires a rating.

Caters Well Even For A Large Family, The Depth Is

CATERS WELL EVEN FOR A LARGE FAMILY, THE DEPTH IS LESS THAN OTHER COMBINATION MICROWAVES WHICH IS AN ADVANTAGE ESPECIALLY IN A SMALL KITCHEN.IT COMPARES VERY MUCH TO THE PANASONIC 554, APART FROM THE EXTERIOR BEING OF STAINLESS STEEL AND HAS WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS "PROPER BUTTONS TO PUSH, NOT THE TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS WHICH CAN SOMETIMES BE HARDER TO PUSH.HAVING RESEARCHED EXTENSIVELY BEFORE PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT I AM FULLY SATISFIED WITH THE COOKING RESULTS....PERFECT EVEN COOKING USING THE CONVECTION OVEN, EASY TO CLEAN...A GOOD TIP IS TO PLACE FOOD IN THE CONVECTION OVEN AS IT PREHEATS TO THE TEMPERATURE REQUIRED, THIS ENSURES THE FOOD IS THOROUGHLY COOKED AND NOT BURNT, YOU CAN LITERALLY USE IT LIKE YOU WOULD USE YOUR PROPER OVEN, BUT YOU DON,T GET THE PROBLEMS OF SMOKE ALARMS GOING OFF AND A FULL BLAST OF STEAM IN YOUR FACE! SINCE HAVING THE PANASONIC 574 MY KITCHEN OVEN HAS BECOME REDUNDANT, I EVEN HEAT MUGS OF WATER IN THE MICROWAVE FOR CUPS OF TEA AND COFFEE..IT IS IMPORTANT TO SHOP AROUND FOR THE PRICE OF THIS MICROWAVE, THE VALUE RANGES FROM £169.00- £250.00 DEPENDING ON WEBSITE.

THE ONLY DISADVANTAGE I WOULD STATE, IS THAT IF YOU WERE POORLY SIGHTED, THE PRINT NEXT TO THE BUTTONS COULD BE DIFFICULT TO SEE AS IT IS BLACK WRITING ON STAINLESS STEEL, IF THIS WAS THE CASE, THE WHITE PANASONIC 554 WOULD BE A LOT CLEARER TO SEE.(BOTH THESE MICROWAVES SHARE THE SAME INSTRUCTION BOOKLET.)ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER TO PUT THE METAL TRAY IN WHEN USING CONVECTION AND REMEMBER TO REMOVE IT WHEN NORMAL MICROWAVING..
