“don't do it”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 297Maynard on 08/06/2015

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. All the rooms need refurbishing, they don't look like they have been done since the 70s.The beds were as hard as a park bench. Around the pool seems to only be cleaned once a week, so for the rest of the time your feet stick to the floor. The meals need a chef who can cook. All Inclusive is Full Board with free drinks as the snacks were 2 slices of dry bread with cheese and ham?? inbetween, that was the only option. I gave 1 star for the staff. Most of them were lovely although there weren't many of them.

“January 2014”

On arrival (we were early) told that apartment not available until later (not a problem). We went and had a look around, found the pool and the bar after quite a few steps. Had a drink (plastic cups!!!) Decided to go for a walk. On arrival back to hotel, was told that we had a different room, so off we go. 60 steps later plus a slope we get to our apartment, which was quite large, clean and beds looked comfortable. Kitchen area was quite sparse, no kettle or toaster?? Unfortunately due to the amount of steps, this was not suitable. Made some inquiries at reception if they had another apartment, Manager showed us another which only had 6 steps to get to. This one we said would be fine. As previous, clean but not a lot of utensils. Had to hire a kettle and toaster!!! Found the apartment very basic, like what you would have got when you first went abroad quite a few years ago, where you had to hire everything. Staff were friendly and helpful, including cleaning staff. Overall for what we paid, it was ok! Would recommend to friends for a cheap break away. Location not too bad for bars, restaurants and to get local buses.

“Los Fiscos self catering”

★★★☆☆

written by on 23/03/2012

The complex has lots of steps which can be a nuisance and they lock the gate to the Bar side of the complex after 8:00pm. This means more steps to climb. Steps are only to be expected but people should be made aware of this before booking. The apartment was reasonable but with limited equipment for self-catering. Kettles could be rented but we used a pan to boil our water. In the long run this would cost the complex more as they not only lost out on the rental for the kettle but it also uses more electric to boil the water, their loss not ours. The Bar on the complex was geared towards “All Inclusive” which allowed them free drinks, as self-catering, we had to pay for our drinks and they were very expensive. This resulted in us drinking elsewhere, again their loss not ours. We knew the location before we arrived so we knew what to expect when going to the beach/harbour so that was not a problem. All in all a good holiday.

“Hotel Blue Sea Los Fiscos”

★★★★☆

written by wendrach on 08/09/2011

Hotel was clean and staff were most friendly. Hotel was situated in the old town of Lanzarote but was near a lovely harbour/marina with excellent bars and restaurants. Beach is a good 20 minute walk away though. Swimming pool was great and overall the hotel is excellent value for money. Our apartment was huge and clean, food could be a little repetitive but plenty of fresh salad and lots of variety. We would definately go back but where the hotel is situated there are some very steep hills so would not suggest for the elderly or infirm. A great hols and once again great efficiency with Ryansir and low cost holidays. W R Coventry

“When we arrived at the Aparthotel Los Fiscos, we were...”

★★☆☆☆

written by 1220ste on 17/05/2007

When we arrived at the Aparthotel Los Fiscos, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the self catering apartment we were placed in, although we were half board. The reception staff were very pleasant and the apartments were kept relatively clean. Right, that was the good bit. The bar staff consisted of one extremely miserable Spaniard who did not like anyone. I think he was there to frighten off all those on all inclusive from drinking too much. The restaurant was just awful! Peas and green beans for breakfast, I mean come on! It was above 80 degrees all week and th air conditioning was never on. What's more, Manuel the miserable barman also helped in here as well. The food all week was awful, in fact guests on all types of board ate out, including those on all inclusive. I just would not want to try and describe the food to explain just how bad it was. All week it was like this until the very last day, this happened to be the day a large group of Spaniards booked into the hotel, not that I am suspicious or anything! Lets get on to the entertainment, how do I describe this? Basically non-existent, poor kids. The entertainment staff was a homeless Dutchman who spent all week chasing anything in a skirt. There was the odd quiz that lasted around 20 minutes and one game of bingo. Fairs fair though, one night they had a singer, well I think those noises squealing from his vocal chords were meant to be songs. Puerto del Carmen was OK and the taxis were excellent. This hotel was at the top of a hill and that was not very good for most people, even the relatively fit, never mind those with any physical infirmity. To sum up, change the bar staff and put on some decent entertainment. Make the food the same as the last day we spent here, turn on the air conditioning, clean the pool once in a while and we may consider staying within 30km of the place at some time in the future.
