Good Size But So Fragile As To Be Essentially Useless

I was really pleased with the size and layout of this tent. We got it for family camping and having 2 distinct bedrooms with plenty of space between them seemed brilliant. Unfortunately there are 2 downsides:

1. It's v heavy, around 30kg

2. It's not strong enough to hold its own weight. In 4 nights of camping (Summer in the UK) we broke 4 poles. Up until then I had never broken any pole on any tent in 20 years+ of camping, on 3 continents. Customer service was worse than nothing. No address or phone number was shown on Vango's website and the email address didn't work. Eventually got through to them via facebook. Both the vendor and Vango refused any kind of refund or compensation, claiming I must have pitched it wrongly and tent poles can't be guaranteed. I explained that I am a v experienced camper who used the instructions, good weather and that the "Sale of Goods" act requires all items to last a reasonable time regardless of guarantee, but only received patronising and dismissive replies. So I spent GBP200+ on a tent that lasted only 4 nights. I will never buy Vango again. Searching online it appears that many other people have had the same experience.

I have only given 1 star because 0 stars doesn't appear to be possible. Avoid.

Collapsed Dangerously After One Night Of Rain

As experienced campers we pitched the tent despite the instructions in an hour, one of the roof seams were missed, poor connections and zips and the front porch felt unstable in design. We purchased the tent from Charlie's stores who were advertising a diablo 600 XL picture on their website as a diablo 600 2012 so did not intentionally purchase the weak design. The tent was ok in the wind although nothing like our previous vango rio 400. However we were not convinced of its stability and at 6am after 1night of rain it collapsed spectacularly whilst our precious little girls slept it was frightening and we had to completely evacuate immediately. A vango force 10 was my first tent 25 years ago and this will be my last. You can't phone vango their email returns your complaint and you have to sign a disclaimer before you purchase one from Charlie's stores so you can 't take it back - RIP off Britain is alive and well. I have a tent with not a mark on it no rips and 4 broken poles and we've used it once !!!!!

The Diablo 600, Is The King Of Tents In My Opinion

The diablo 600, is the king of tents in my opinion,on a recent expedition to devon our tent was the envy of my friends, mainly due to its large porch area, yes it can be a bit of a chore to erect but it gets easier the more times you do it,but that is the only downside to it,two large bedrooms easily hold double airbeds with room to spare, and a large living space, and a nice big porch area for all the cooking,it withstood some serious heavy rain and was a 100% dry inside due to sealed groundsheet(which my freinds did not have). a serious tent for serious campers.

Can endorse all that has been said. Excellent tent which withstood 3 days of Atlantic winds on exposed site. Felt stable and secure although it is a bit of a job to erect and definitely a 2 man job. Wind and rain proof and dry all the time. Good zips and the dark inner sleeping covers did their job admirably. We are only two persons using this so it is fairly spacious but would be cramped with 6 inside.

I Have Camped For Many Years. Now 56 In All. This

I have camped for many years. Now 56 in all. This tent is fantabulous. Great space - bedrooms, porch (trailer and all when needed) as well as massive living area. Only one drawback is the time to pitch it. Once it's up, it is the bestist tent ever even against wind and rain.

If I was starting again, I would buy the same one, Diablo 600.

Vango pay a lot of attention to detail. I still have and use a Vango Force 10, which is 41 years old. Do you hear that VANGO, 41 years old. Impressive or what?

Been Out 6 Times This Year & Still In Perfect Con

Been out 6 times this year & still in perfect condition. Even though one of the times it was erected in 35mph winds with heavy rain. Was sure it would tear but was proved wrong! Sturdy in wind & have had no leaks. No condensation inside at all.

Living space is good size & second pole in bedrooms allows for standing space. Porch easily fits our camping kitchen & 2 chairs. Enough room for us, 2 energetic boys & then some.

Erecting was easy after watching demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V59bcFtiFFM although takes time due to tying & cliping outer sheet.

Vango Diablo We Have Had This Tent For 4 Years And

Vango Diablo We have had this tent for 4 years and used it about 5 times. The zip on the main porch has now broken, so we can use it no longer.

It takes about an hour to pitch even for 2 experienced people, including guying.

It does not fit onto a standard pitch (which is about 5m by 7m) and we have been refused entry onto several campsites unless we pay an extra pitch fee.

It held the rain out really well until the last camp, and then was very difficult and expensive to re-proof due to its size.

Does cope well with wind.

I found it very cold due to the sheer size of space that you need to heat with your body heat. - we did use it in April one year.

Vango Diablo 600 Is A Fantastic Product, Compact I

Vango Diablo 600 is a fantastic product, compact in stowage, huge when erected. Well ventilated and cool in hot weather, keeps the wind out when required.Very easy to erect but takes time due to size and shape of parts, two people make it easy, three make it simple.Sleeping areas big enough for extra adult ( or 2 children) each and common area large enough to cope with any number of activities.

Love The Diablo 600, I Have Read Some Bad Reviews

Love the Diablo 600, i have read some bad reviews aboyut vango lately , but i have no idea about that, i used the tent in strong winds and heavy rain, and it stood up to the test, plenty of room, large living area.

I found it at www.newquaycampingshop.co.uk they had it at a reat price and the staff were super friendly.
