“Wii Sports”

★★★★☆

written by chaperz117 on 31/12/2011

Good Game. Not very realistic at all. Fun for little kids. Boring after a while. Could do with some more optional game. Over all a good sunday night, by the fire, family fun game.

Wii Sports is a fantastic game which you can use to break you into the Wii. There is a variety of games you can choose to play, including Tennis, Bowling, Baseball and boxing (plus more). You can either play individually or against a friend. You can even test your fitness to a certain extent, and see how well you perform week on week.

The graphics are ok, not out of this world, but it's really all about the gaming experience with this one. Instead of sitting static on the sofa, you have to get up and move around using the Wii controllers. You really feel like you're part of the game, especially when you're playing tennis against a friend. It's a great family game, but also a lot of fun to play when you have friends round for a party! Great fun, and really recommended.

Wii Sports is fun while it lasts but reasonably shallow, particularly when playing on your own. However, it is perhaps the single best example of how to use motion control for computer game interaction.

The Wii Sports boxing game is particularly my favourite for the reason that it provides the most exercise. After 3 games on the wii sports boxing game, I always wake up the next morning with my arm muscles aching, that's a clear sign that the exercise is working well.

We bought the kids a Wii for Christmas and what a fantastic Christmas day we had! All the family played it non stop for about 8 hours (with a bit of a break for Christmas dinner!) What amazed me is how easy it was for everyone to get the hang of and become competitive straight away. My Mother in Law is 70 and she soon got the hang of it and giving our 12 year old a real run for her money.

Wii sports is fun. The minute I got it, I played it nonstop, and it was a complete blast. The training mode is very fun.But when you play it a lot, it becomes a bit boring. you do the same thing every time. Swing for golf, punch for boxing, bowl for bowling, wack for tennis ,and bat or pitch for base ball. But when you have nothing to do, it can become pretty fun.

I don't recommend the wii games for children under 5. But for those over, well recommend Wii Sports.

Things me and my friends have noticed since we got our Wii when it came out. We stay up later, friends always come over to play, we drink more (beer), the beer tastes better, and we tend to get drunk really quick and lose track of time.

Well recommend Wii Sports for the Nintendo Wii.

This is a real sports game from the Wii but sometimes players get a little too much into it.

All the family can play together, including my 16 year old disabled daughter and my 84 year old mother. My daughter is now addicted to the wii so she plays against the computer, or else she quite often brings on other characters and plays for everyone at the same time. Although it is great fun to get up and do all the moves to the golf, bowling, tennis etc, you can perform just as well sitting in a chair and perfecting a flick of a wrist! well worth the money either way you play.

★★★★★

written by frances2710 on 19/08/2007

I had the most fun playing a computer game that I've had in ages! It's highly addictive and I think the best way to actually make computer games a little bit active so our nation's kids don't all get fat sitting in front of computers all day. Couple this with some kind of dancing game in the future, or other hook-ups that involve really moving about, and we're onto a winning solution for solving childhood obesity!
All computers should be interactive like this, even when typing Word documents at work, so office-workers like myself can fight the flab!
I just played on a friend's Wii so can't vouch too much for expense and I haven't researched what other games are available for it but whatever they are I bet they're great and fun and I want one!

There is a game called Wii Fitness coming out that uses a pressure-type board as well as the controllers for complete workout.

“Wii sports is a great starter game to be bundled in...”

★★★★★

written by Rabbit banger on 04/04/2007

Wii sports is a great starter game to be bundled in with the wii- it makes great use of the wii's incredible controllers and will make everyone in the house gather round to watch. The multiplayer abilities are very good but require more wiimotes, which can be bought for an extra £29 each. It is also easy to use and gets progressively harder to suit the abilities of the player. I will quickly cover all five games:

Tennis: This is my favourite game as it is surprisingly accurate- if you lob the ball it will go up in the air, if you hit the ball to late it will go out of play and if you hit it hard it will go faster. This game allows up to 4 people playing. So I give Tennis 10/10

Bowling: Again very accurate if to put spin on the ball you'll get spin and if you bowl fast the ball will go fast. The only problem with bowling is that its too easy someone whos never played before will get a number of strikes in their first go. It will allow 4 people to play against each other. I give it 6/10

Baseball: Is the hardest game to play and it does make your arms sore. It is very technical, thought and will allow you to perform fastballs, curve balls, screwballs and splitters. You can have two people playing- one batting and one fielding. As it is hard i will give it only 6/10.

Golf: Is quiet hard but very addictive the detail on the course it good so is a good game overall. It will support 4 people playing. 8/10

Boxing: This is the only game which utilizes the nunchuk controller for your other hand. This is a very active game and will drain your energy quickly. You can perform many different moves- dodges, uppercuts, hooks, etc. The vibrating features and small speaker come in useful in this game. Two people can play split screen. This wil require the purchase of another nunchuk (£15)

The loading time on wii sports is great and so are the miis (virtual people) who come into play in every game. Wii sports it an excellent game which I fully recomend. 9/10. Thanks for reading my review.

Couldn't agree more. Got my dad hooked on it, all my mates, the wife and even my 3 year old nephew.
<br/>We set it up in the conservatory when we have BBQ's so you stand outside but the telly is inside and everyone joins in its a fantastic game. I only hope Wii Play is half as good.
