“FB-NO!!!”

written by Midnightvisitor on 09/05/2013

For a lot of people face book is the easy way to make friends with people and to see the world through different eyes--that being said you can find as a user a lot of time being spent checking out pictures other people like and playing a lot of games--to which begs the question--Just where will you find the time for other things in your life if you are glued in front of a computer. The fact is that I was a face book user for over 10 years--posted hundreds of pictures-spent a lot of time chatting with people or poking others and yet at the end of it I have to admit that many people I knew from work and to see them each day and chat with them on face book...well it made me feel like I didn't really know the person as well as I would have liked. It does save on postage and time spent emailing to see a person on a page and then chatting with them but if i had a dollar for all the pictures and game request I was sent I would be watching sports right now a huge wide screen Television--so yes if you want to be entertained, meet people from near and far away join--but if you wake up one day like I did and wonder where I was wasting all this time when I could have been doing other things--well that's a choice you have to make for yourself

“Tired of pounding that changes”

written by julian.jonker0 on 05/11/2012

I am so tired of pounding that changes all the time and that you can not have law and keep the old. It does not take much before I leave FB altogether. must be said, after they've turned it on, I use only FB. 2% of the time compared to before.

written by on 15/10/2012

Services are not working properly, especially chat and messages! Multiple delivery of msg, other time no delivery at all. Missing functions + confusing with like pages, fan groups and profiles - people use it differently and it makes a lot of mess. Developers slept over the new technologies, go to g+ and u'll see why

“No thanks”

written by Michmash on 20/06/2012

I don't understand what the appeal is with facebook? To be perfectly honest i'd hate to have a facebook account. I did have one a few years back, and that was enough to put me off completely. The fact that people can get in touch with you and invade your space, all hours of the day and night just doesnt appeal to me at all, The whole point of facebook is to keep in touch with people and share pictures.. Email or the mobile works perfectly fine for me. The constant 'friend' requests from people i haven't seen in years and probably wouldn't recognise in the street, 'pokes' from the same sort of people who you wouldn't talk to even if you DID recognise them. Theres also that need people seem to have on facebook to share literally everything about their daily lives with everyone on their 'friend list'. 'Waiting for the bus'? Really? And you just had to let the world know that? The final thing that nails the coffin shut on facebook for me is the influx of incredibly young children who are flocking to its shores recently. Kids as young as 5 and 6! Parents should not be allowing this but still, facebook should have some kind of age limit, it might aswell have its own playgroup at the moment!

Jenny-Hen's Response to Michmash's Review

I total agreement with your review. I hate the fact that it has so many people hooked and absolutely everything has to now link to your facebook account so pointless 'friend' can see exactly what you are doing and know the in's and out's of your life.

“Facebook has a lousy user service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Olaf_Tehrani on 31/05/2012

My Facebook account is no longer available. The reason is that one of my 'friends' has reported me because of sharing a link to a radiobroadcast by the Danish public service radio. The title of the broadcast was rather controversial. It read 'Experts: Legalize drugs' and related to the fact that police and military around the world now for decades has tried to combat drug crime - without much luck. Perhaps even the contrary. The Facebook team employee who looked into the matter, has apparently never heard of anything so exotic as Danish public service radio and probably thought it was the propagandatransmitter of the mafia. Consequently he or she ‘deactivated’ my account - apparently assuming that I was trying to persuade my friends into taking drugs! Facebook cannot be contacted, and misunderstanding cannot be corrected. Sad that Facebook can’t recruit people with better education and a shame that the company can’t afford a decent user service!

One FB leads the way in Community Social hubs. But as they went on with marketing they've forgot their major role and their primary concern is now money.

“Facebook sell your personnal details to ad companies”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Kirsh on 15/02/2012

Facebook sell your personnal details to advertissement companies. It's perfectly legal since it's written in the conditions you sign when you join. If someone wants to know about your personnal life, the 1st place they'd go is FACEBOOK. Also, if your pics are private, some of them appear in google image.

“Why people are crazy abou Facebook?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Dorothea on 09/11/2011

I don't really understand why people are crazy about the social networking. I had fake account only to play some online games. Always wonder what percentage of software of this site is really to spy on user and percentage is really as it says. Would never recommend. If have friends, write email, call them, meet them on weekend :)

“Not user friendly”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/05/2011

I find this site has too much bullying going on, and also too many members out to cause distress with their reporting ID's as phoney. I have lost 5 friends from this and none of them will give personal information over the net, I don't blame them ID fraud could be a result. Not moderated properly and very bad security. If there was a direct contact with the company it would help but even that is too much trouble for FB. I don't recommend it at all.

“ Facebook ADS is my gripe,I started 2 ad campaigns ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by theoverseer1 on 03/11/2010

Facebook ADS is my gripe,I started 2 ad campaigns
at a low budget, they have charged me over the last 3 weeks
£45.I have had to delete one Ad,and whilst querying the other
I cannot contact them on the phone or by their contact form
which keeps asking me for an email address which i repeatedly
enter using my facebook account email. Bad communication and overcharging leave me cold towards Facebook ADS.However FACEBOOK as a SOCIAL SITE has been good.

“Facebook, the worlds biggest collection of slutty...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ToddWilliams89 on 27/09/2010

Facebook, the worlds biggest collection of slutty girls trying to get a f**k next weekend. The place where you go to be a farmer and look after a few pretend cows and water a pretend plants. The place where you go to cook food and build stoves. A place where you go to be in the mafia or in a mob!

Seriously, facebook is an overated pile of garbage. I actually believe people would kill themselves if facebook shut down! People who use it fall into 2 catergories!

A) Normal
B) STUPID

The normal people just go on there to have a laugh with friends and post pictures from last nights bowling match.

The STUPID people go on there because they have no real life friends and have to make 4500 internet friends that are probably 76 year old men wearing a dirty old anorak having a wa*k over there pictures!

written by on 05/01/2010

For several days I have been trying to register with ' Facebook ' but without success. My confirmation code was not accepted, and then a continous message which read 'Important messaagae from Facebook.......Privacy Announcement.........which I could not delete, to confirm the code number given etc., I sent an e-mail to 'Facebook' to explain these problems..............but no response. I think I will give 'Facebook' a miss now. Would not recommend, due to my own experience of trying to register.

“I thought I'd redress the balance a little, as...”

written by debs1969 on 28/05/2008

I thought I'd redress the balance a little, as previous reviewers have praised Facebook but I'm personally not impressed with it.

My biggest gripe with Facebook is those applications your friends try to share with you. You know the sort - you get a notification that you're being chased by a zombie, etc. I'm sure that's fun if you're 12, but I'm nearly 39... I'm astounded that so many of my 'intelligent' friends enjoy such silliness, to be honest. These applications quite often trick users into clicking on ads and giving away personal information. I don't trust them one bit.

MySpace, on the other hand - I love it. I love that I get random invitations every day from bands I wouldn't otherwise have heard about. I've discovered tons of brilliant new music this way. And if a man were to send me a friend request - which they wouldn't, because I'm an old lady now - I always have the option of flagging him up as a spammer.

Also, on MySpace, I get to have The Mighty Boosh and Russell Brand in my friends list... Facebook won't ever let you do things like that, because artists are not using it to promote themselves. Again, I've discovered all sorts of cool stuff by having artistes in my friends list at MySpace, such as forthcoming tours, start dates of new TV shows, etc. Excellent stuff.

I only ever log into Facebook now if I get an email saying there's a message from a friend there for me. Otherwise, I do not recommend Face book.
