Does Everything Cd's, Duplex Printing, And Photos,

Does everything CD's, Duplex printing, and photos, has two print trays, its cheap, and very good quality, its standby mode is nice. Fantastic printer, well worth the small cost and the ink lasts well, and is cheap to replace.

I Truly Appreciate The Ease With Which I Can Creat

I truly appreciate the ease with which I can create photos of family using my Canon PIXMA printer, or photos downloaded from the web for my art class. The photos are crystal clear, the colours are exact and the size of 4" x 6" is perfect. I have taken some of the photos to art class and the other members have asked me to get information for them. They tell me their printers do not give them the perfection my printer is giving me. Today, I have been asked to gather the information about my iP4200 for a fellow watercolorist as she needs a new printer.

The look of the machine itself is attractive, professional and it is not intimidating. When it comes time to replace the ink jets, I encounter no anxiety and do so with ease. The same can be said when replacing the photo paper in the appropriate holders. It is a joy to use.

This Is An Excellent Printer. I Have Used It With

This is an excellent printer. I have used it with about 6 different photo papers. I always buy the most economical (cheapest) and so far all have given excellent results, after figuring out the best printer settings for each.

In the normal mode it is quiet and it also has a quite mode.

It is fairly fast: I get great prints, 4X6s in about 30 seconds and 8X10s in about a minute.

I get great text documents on regular paper and near professional ones when using high-grade paper.

The auto two-sided printing, an option on other printers but standard here, is great.

All features can be selected and controlled from the computer.

Cartridge info is adequate, the Canon program keeps you informed and provides warnings. The cartridges also have indicators informing you of their status.

It boasts true borderless prints but so far I have not been ale to get any. That may be me not figuring out the settings yet.

Unfortunately it feels flimsy, not nearly a sturdy as I would like but I don't intend to be moving it around much.

The ip4300 is hard to find now but the replacement ip4500 has the same Pixma technology and slightly better specs.

I would recommend the ip4300 to anyone needing a low cost (under US$100) photo printer with very good text capabilities.

I Bought This Printer To Replace An Epson Printer

I bought this printer to replace an Epson printer that stopped printing just out of its guarantee, I've always been an Epson fan but after buying this printer and using it for a month or so I can say Canon blows Epson away.

The printer has two selectable feed trays, the bottom one I use for 150x100 photo paper and the top one for A4 paper, its great being able to switch between the two without having to unload and load the paper tray each time.

The printer prints both sides of the paper without you having to turn the paper over and reload it, a fantastic way of getting your printing right each time.

Letter printing quality is superb and photo printing is superb too.

The printer has a quiet mode which you can programme for different times automatically.

The printer switches itself off after a given time set by the user.

Ink use is good, I've printed a lot of photos and letters and all the tanks are showing good levels of ink.

I rate this PIXMA printer as the best I've ever owned.

Although I agree with the review, I however am finding ink usage is very high, compared to my ip4000. the black no.5 for instance does not last as long as it its equivalent on the ip4000, this is despite the printer settings been set to fast. Plus the ink costs a third to half as much again as for the ip4300.

Picture quality when printing photos, however, is excellent.
