This machine is a good all rounder. It copes with the gruelling demands made on it by Windows Vista. Performance Index is 4.3 which will be easily adequate for all but the high end gamers.
Mine came with Vista Home Premium which I successfully upgraded to Vista Ultimate with barely any issues. (High Definition audio driver needed reinstalling and Roxio software needed repairing.)
It has a superb screen and as ever with Sony Vaio products appeared to be well designed and built with the exception of the poor battery locking and the ventilation on the base.
It's also very quiet. Fan and optical drive noise level very low.
Would happily recommend this to anyone looking for an above average laptop, although as stated earlier graphics performance not up to the demands of the die-hard gamers.
