The Signal Is An Excellent Complete For Any Level
The signal is an excellent complete for any level of flat riding. DK has been perfecting their flatland entry for years, and with the choice of parts used in this complete -- sun rims, tektro brakes, interstate wheels, DK freecoaster -- you can't go wrong. the bike maintains a nice, low weight, but not quite as low as that exhibited by higher end flat bikes (splitting hairs as the difference is a pound or two, but this can be very important to some people.) on this note, the Signal is unbeatable for a complete of this quality, especially when you can easily spend more than twice the amount on a similar bike. the frame is streamlined well, making sure to give you plenty of room for scuffing/stopping, and a low profile that you won't easily get your legs tangled up in.
as for low points, there aren't many, and you really need to be picky... having a straighter set of handlebars that were more so perpendicular to the ground would've been really nice. the stock crank is a one-piece and is the only part of the bike that feels somewhat on the cheap side (likely to keep costs down.) mine wore out in about six months of heavy riding; your mileage may vary. the bar grips are unusually rough on the hands in my opinion, so you may want to invest in some gloves for those extended sessions.
overall, the signal is a highly-recommended complete for that first flatland bike. you won't find a cheaper complete bar none, and for a bike that is sure to last you a number of years, the price is excellent.
