written by bendeneo on 24/12/2010

Hi there, Great player/recorder in my opinion. Plenty of quality modes and i find it records well from all sources, but I do use it in a very low-tech way..... i.e. I play everything directly and just record directly via scart.
Its a good cheap reliable unit.

NB - I've lost my remote so does anyone know the correct remote code for the Acoustic Solutions DVDRW300... or could perhaps program my learning remote for me?!

Cheers! [email protected]

I have owned this Acoustic SOlutions DVDRW300 recorder for about 1 year now and it is still operating to the same standard as the day it was purchased. Indeed it plays everything, from svcd, vcd, + & -, rerecordables, multi region (no mention of this on the box)pal and nstc, cd, mp3, jpeg files...the lot.
Don't be fooled by the price tag, yes it's cheap, but it certainly is not nasty.

I bought this second hand today in Cash converters. I have to say I paid 40 quid thinking I must have real bargain. I was surprised; really surprised to find that it wasn't priced at 300! Go get one, astounding sounds amazing!

The Acoustic Solutions DVDRW300 is cheap, I paid £60 at Argos...... good quality recording on standard play (sp rec) can be changed to 3 other rec modes, editing feature is good for rw discs though not to buy if you want to do more than the standard rec/play.

Hi,
<br/>You have to "finalise" the DVD before it will play on another DVD player. Got me very frustrated until I realised how to do it!
<br/>It is very counter-intuitive!.
<br/>Let the player load the disc, and when the first screen appears (menu) before you press play, press the up arrow on the remote. You get another list of options - one of which is to finalise the disc. Click across to reach them and follow the on-screen prompts.
<br/>It should then play on all compatible players and can also be copied via a suitably equipped PC.

The DVDRW300 is a very good value so far, once I had managed to work out the cabling and controls nothing has gone wrong since, only one coaster so far and that was me picking the wrong video source for the recording.

Hi Dungbeetle.
<br/>Not sure if I can help - not knowing what set-up you have - but for what it is worth I always play back through the DVD recorder whatever it is I want on DVD - this is not "dubbing" as I understand it.
<br/>In other words The DVD recorder is being fed from my V+ box as a straightforward playback of a recording - not "copy toDVD- (Via scart connection) and that program is being shown on my TV (via scart) with a blue band showing "recording" on-screen when I start to record, "pause" "stop" and so on as I progress. This ties up my cable - but it does mean I can control the recording!

Hello
<br/>
<br/>I was just wondering if you could help me out with recording from hard drive to DVD disk on this machine as you seem to have had success! The manual is next to useless in my opinion and I can't fathom it out. What I want to do is put onto disk some programmes that I have recorded for my little boy. I followed the limited instructions and selected the items I wanted and pressed the record/dub button, we got a symbol on the TV screen and display on DVD said dubbing. That was 4.30pm - it still said dubbing at 7.30am this morning! The DVD is still blank and I'm not sure what to do next so any help would be very much appreciated. Sorry for being so long winded!

It does not recognise individual channels - just the set top box as a source via the SCART lead - at least that's how it works with my V+ (NTL) box. The "Copy to DVD/VCR" option on V+ seems a bit iffy - got picture but different sound when I tried it - so just playback what I want to record to DVD now.

I can't comment on the longevity of the Acoustic Solutions DVDRW300 DVD Recorder as I've only had it a few weeks. But I was blown away by it enough to come on here and big it up.
