No Stars At All For This If That Were Possible. We
No stars at all for this if that were possible. We have had a Bosch Exxcel 1200 washing machine for more than five years and steadily it has become all but useless. There is an annular gap between the rubber collar inside the door where it sits just inside the revolving internal drum and the rim of the drum itself. Items of washing work their way into the gap so that they actually are being dragged around just inside the water containment tank. It seems that there is a build up of gunge in the tank on all surfaces and this gets on the trapped clothes. This started when the machine was about two years old. We have always used liquid detergent. All our vendor can advise is to use a washing soda wash at the highest temperature and then a couple of flushing washes. We have done this and we do get some gunge out by also applying a hot water hose jet all round in the gap but now we cannot do a large wash without the staining. It has come to the point that only small washes are possible - no sheets etc. We need to take the machine apart and clean it thoroughly.
This is a fundamental flaw which Bosch may or may not have corrected in new products. When we have told Bosch about it we get no reply. Best to steer clear of Bosch I would advise.
You are not alone with the grunge issue as most machines seem to suffer from this affliction.Trouble ,writing in a general sense, that in order to get the AAA energy grade the h2o level is too low which causes encrustation of sludge just above and including the door seal level;this combined with ,and i think your model is soley cold fill from memory only, rather than a mixed or hot fill ,depending on the programme setting, does not help the machine at all.Have been and still am a washing machine engineer for 30 years (grey hair proves it!) it seems the crux of the whole problem really lies in in the detergent and liquid detergent we all class,in the repair trade, as a killer,ie the machine slayer-no bleach in the product=smelly machine from bacteria that builds up after year 3 of ownership and everyone using bio detergent at 30 or 40 degrees. In very servere cases the fungal growth(yep, that`s what it is) attacks the aluminium spider assembly-the part you can`t see that bolts behind the drum that carries the bearing shaft-this part rots and then fractures and to all in tense and purposes writes the whole poxy machine off.I`ll agree with you that at the stage your machine has got to no amount of descaler is going to work now as it is too late;if your machine had had regular treatments or better still was run on softened h2o you would not have had the problem. You cannot wash modern fabrics without ruining them like you could wash and get away with with most stuff you wore back in the pre 70`s, sadly (in away!)times have changed; put it another way,if there was a G rated machine (the equivalent to a 1970`s built machine) that had high level water useage and was really bad on energy, though was hot fill from your water tank- just time things to coinside with bath night to kill two birds with one stone as it were! Then noone would buy the machine even though it would last alot longer(given also that 1000 spin speed is really the max and no faster for health of the bearings on a front loader)because of such a lousey rating grade. The whole thing is a total farce and a charade part manufacturer part detergent products part green agenda, but noone lisens, even the newspapers don`t understand the concept-or maybe they do ,but are not too happy being seen to attack the green agenda(which i support, but intelligently support that is!-i`m against wind farms for example as a complete waste of time and money in their present design form). So their you have it.It is somewhat more complex than this i have to say-molecular structure of the water tank material/ionic structure of h2o for instance and how ionic attraction between these two fundamentals and the detergent inter relationship, but i hope everyone who reads this gets an insight into the wacky wonderful world of the washing machine problem of ponging and their generally short life span.

Poor Wash Results, Does Not Rinse Throughly, Even
Poor wash results, does not rinse throughly, even when placed on second rinse cycle, obviously built to achieve high energy/eco standard with overall terrible wash result, having to manually rinse things by hand in sink - not what a washing machine is for. By far the worst machine I have ever owned, we are thinking of changing it after only 1 year, that says it all!

The Bosch Exxcel Wfo2465 Machine Fails To Wash Trh
The Bosch Exxcel WFO2465 machine fails to wash trhough the conditioner and leaves the drawer compartment full of water each time. The whole of the washing powder/conditioner compartment becomes full of black mould.I think one of the reasons for this is becuase it is a cold water fill and it needs hot water to keep the compartment and pipes etc clean and clear.Any suggestions for resolving this problem would be appreciated as otherwise it has been a good and reliable machine.
I have the same problem and have had the tray out and given a thorough clean still not solve the problem, would never buy another bosch.

Owned the Bosch Exxcel WFO2465 for under a year and was very displeased with it. Bosch are very conscious of making very efficient machines which use hardly any water or energy - however, this does affect the performance of the machine. Clothes do not "slosh" around in warm, soapy water as they should do and do not come out clean. Changed the Bosch for a Dyson CR02 Flowcheck machine - hot and cold fill, uses lots of water, heats up extremely quickly and cleans the clothes like washing machines used to.
