“Poor quality”

We had this freezer from new for 5 years and we expected better from Hotpoint. We were experiencing problems from the start and was told that it was our fault for opening the fridge door! But it was under warranty so we took the repair Three visits from a repair guy and he replaced for free a part from Hotpoint. There must a have been a design fault from the start. The fridge freezer worked well for 4 years. It has now officially died. The fridge does not work and the freezer is running a bit warmer than would like. An engineer came and told us that liquid had shortened the PCB unit and he had never seen such a rusted up fan in his life. This is a frost free unit so it does make some unusual noises. We have bought a new fridge freezer and we will not be buying any major Hotpoint appliances again.

I bought this fridge Freezer(FFA90),it was ok for a while then it will release loud cracking sounds at regular intervals, and this is meant to be frost free, but it keeps freezing the excess water under the storage racks, very annoying.I have to keep mopping the floor every day,due to water leakage.I will not buy another HOTPOINT again.

Received this Hotpoint FFA90 from a friends relative second-hand, had it for a week before reading the other reviews.
I know the fridge/freezer is at least 5 years old and they did not experience any problems at all with it, there are no rust marks or damage to any part of it and apart from the noise (which i`m still getting used to) it seems to be ok.

Well what can I say - apart from the noise aspect that I have learned to live with over the past 4 years, the door shelf clip broke that the milk bottles were stored in, the salad crisper drawers have cracked, the runners for the drawers in the freezer have cracked to show the insulation. It started to accumulate ice under the bottom freezer drawer that needed scrapping out weekly so I called in Hotpoint - The engineer came out and declared it uneconomical to repair so I am now waiting for my replacement - unfortunately another Hotpoint but hopefully a better made one that is actually fit for purpose and doesn't make a noise (fingers crossed!!)

Purchased the FFA90 13 months ago. 3 weeks after 12 month warranty the fridge began to warm up. The engineer ( £89-£98 call out ) informs my wife that the freezer liner has split and of course this is unrepairable. We can purchase insurance from them to replace new for old @ £14 per month.
Poor quality or what?????!!!!!
