“Terrible experience”

I wish I had read the reviews on the review websites before I booked a villa with villa plus. Like so many before me I am advising you not to book a villa with this company. The photographs on their website are totally misleading. In February 2024 we stayed at Villa Salinas, Lanzarote and it was an absolute disgrace, a villa which Villa Plus should be ashamed to market. They have a responsibility to ensure their villas meet the description as advertised and they failed to do this. We were mis-sold this holiday. We asked to be moved but they said they did not have any other accommodation available. There were so many problems I couldn’t possibly list them all. I cannot understand how they get a Trust Pilot 4 star rating. Here are some of our complaints: The villa hadn’t been cleaned properly. We had to go to the shops and buy cleaning products. There was mould on the inside of the fridge. Plates and cutlery were dirty The oven was dated and the electric kept tripping every time we tried to use the oven. Cockroach infestation to the lower ground floor Bedding smelt fusty, pillows and mattress were dirty, stained The covers on the pool loungers were filthy The cushions on the outdoor table chairs were filthy and smelt The cushions on the bedroom veranda were ripped and the foam was spilling out There was only enough seating in the lounge for 4 people (there were six of us), 2 x 2-seater sofas and a broken Ikea chair Photos show pool table and tennis table which we thought would be great for the children but both were in such poor condition they were unusable The heated pool was significantly smaller than 8m x 4m as advertised and the pool heating was not functioning. The advert said that off road parking was available but the electric gate would not open. Security issues with external doors not being securely lockable One of reps from Villa Plus agreed to rectify as much as he could which was only a quick clean, fresh linen, and new cushions for the sunbeds. We didn’t notice the stained mattress until the day we were leaving but the cleaners who changed the beds will have noticed and didn’t say anything. Sorting out the complaint took the whole of our second day in the Villa making the first 2 days of our holiday stay miserable and full of stress and the rest of the unresolved complaints continued to ruin the rest of our holiday. We have complained to villa plus and was offered an insulting £150 compensation which we have not yet received.

“Unacceptable noise from next doors villa ”

3 days of ear damaging noise from next doors property in Villa Orzola in Lanzarote . Reps unable to find suitable alternative accommodation. Also said they were talking to builders have to press them for a response and sometimes nothing at all. Worst holiday I’ve ever had in my life would not recommend villa plus to anyone !

“Bad customer service from villa plus no reply to my...”

Hello email as requested after phone call to local representative I’m currently staying at Villa Vista Faro Lanzarote from January 10 to Sunday 21 January. I have to say I’m very disappointed with the villa For Example . The dining chairs outside are not able to be used as in a bad state of repair. The dishwasher door is unable to open fully as the kitchen hasn’t enough space to enable this . Outside storage near pool has door hanging off unsafe for children with an assortment of broken toys,which should be binned. One of the sun lounges is missing a cushion Curtains in lounge are not hung properly Bedroom blind in upstairs bedroom to short and chain to raise or lower broken The sliding door to outside requires maintenance Only one outside light at front entrance of house works as the other one is damaged To sum things up the villa is in need of some up grade. I’m attaching pictures to verify these issues This villa is nothing like pictures. I sugest you need new people to vet these villas

“No refunds and no replies!”

I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with Villa Plus. Despite providing a substantial seven months' notice due to unforeseen health issues, they refused a refund and showed a complete lack of sympathy. Their unresponsiveness, taking over two weeks to reply to a single email, further added to the frustration. Villa Plus appears more focused on taking money than on customer care. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them, as their unsympathetic service has left me thoroughly dissatisfied.

“Villa Tienda, Alcudia nightmare”

Villa Tienda in Alcudia was booked with Villa Plus September 2023-October 2023.on arrival we found the villa inside and outside bore no resemblance to the actual images on the Villa Plus website. Our first impressions on arrival was the overpowering stench of dampness and mould inside the property. Opening windows and doors made no difference. Parts of the ceiling plaster in the lounge area were falling down onto the furniture underneath. The walls in almost all rooms showed cracks, some running from one side to the other. All furniture old, dated and well past it’s sell by date. Couches in the lounge covered in throws and I dread to think what was underneath. We had to sleep the first 2 nights with our sheets covering our noses as the stench was so bad. The outside barbecue has an asbestos roof on it and we found a couple of small loose pieces of asbestos sitting on top of it. This ASBESTOS ROOF SHOULD NOT BE THERE as it was clearly very old and asbestos breaks down with age and becomes dangerous when it breaks down! Outside of villa showing visible signs of a damp and mould problem, with broken sills in places inside and out, broken and missing fixtures everywhere, broken/missing tiles round the pool, filthy looking render on outside bearing no resemblance to the images on the website. We both have lung conditions and after one night breathing and smelling the overpowering smell of mould we knew we couldn’t stay any longer or we’d be risking our health. 12 years of hiring villas and this is the first one we’ve had that’s been what we’d call a s******e. We are not habitual complainers! I cannot believe Villa Plus are still advertising this villa in 2024! Luckily our rep moved us to alternative villas in a different resort after 2 days for the remainder of our stay in Majorca. Apparently we were the only ones to complain! I’m sorry to say that either that wasn’t the truth or other people have very low expectations…????***AVOID VILLA TIENDA ALUDIA AT ALL COST!***

I had to cancel my villa giving over 8 months notice, the actually kept my £500 are you having a laugh, The villa will be booked again so you loose nothing , admin foes not cist £500 You are despicable money grabbing company who should be ashamed of yourselves, Any other travel company take the admin cost of up to 120 but oh no not you £500 do you do book it in gold I have never been so mad and highly recommend you do not use thus company

“Villa Casa Gardenia (New Villa in Gale, Albufeira)...”

Please do not book a villa what so ever with this irresponsible company. We booked a 'new' 2 floor villa, so you expect some expertise being emphasised in the details of a property, especially when there are 4 villas that have been built 'WRONG' disability access and safety of a property was not assessed what so ever. Discrimination became evident, a possible manslaughter case could have happened. Possible health issue could have become apparent. In essence, we booked a 4 en-suite bedroom villa for our family of 10. We questioned the outlay of the villa and explained our needs for our disabled personnel. We were asked to fill their disabled needs form in, they returned with the villa was accessible. Guess what, the bath with shower over was on the ground floor! That was our first complaint on arrival - they had no other villas for us. We are (retired) and had to carry our 17stone son into the bath. 2.The swimming pool had no signs anywhere of a incline of a quick 2ft- I nearly drowned with my grandson due to the quick sheer drop and disorientation - If I didnt have my family there to save us this could have been a fatality on their hands. 3. The bins were 1/2 a mile away, so we had to walk everyday with our refuge to avoid flies and an health issue - This is a £5k villa and no maintenance to bins at the front of the property! 4. The water on arrival was cold, we found that out with a cold shower - maintenance arrived and said the owners had put the boiler temp down! he put it up for us. 5. No condiments left of coffee, tea, sugar, salt , pepper etc etc - we had to buy all and leave what we didnt use. I complaint on return, 11 wks later and they reply with they are not responsible and it is written in their details, I looked at their details, and sure enough they have changed them and the pictures - Lucky for me I kept the original and using as evidence! Just do not use them!

“What a shower they are”

What a shower they are. They cancel your holiday and refund the money with out any consideration of what you have paid in terms of Car hire Transfers and flights. All you hear from them is "It's our policy" which is of no help whatsoever. The alternative Villas they suggested were more than twice the price of what we paid. No help towards the cost of this was offered as it's their policy just to refund. So we are hung out to dry by Villa Plus. When speaking, she constantly interrupted and wouldn't listen. The standard of the Villas has dropped over the years and I thought that given the pandemic situation they would have tried really hard to get as many positive reviews as they could. For instance earlier this year when in one of their villas in Portugal they wouldn't even provide bin bags. How many people take bin bags on holiday. All the small things that used to be provided are no longer available unless you buy a seriously overpriced welcome pack. Cutting corners is one thing but obliterating the services that were previously available is totally wrong. All in the name of profit and not having any duty of care for the client. Perhaps they should rename themselves as Villa Minus. My husband is waiting for a phone call who I hope will have discussed our situation with her manager.

“The pictures shown of villas are not up to date. ”

Lovely pictures of villa. In reality that is not we arrived to. There were work men there trying to fix electrics/broken door handle that was hanging off on the patio door. Air conditioning broke. Swimming pool you could see through as there was so much green slime in it. That was after it had been cleaned. The place hadn’t been cleaned as it had large dead cockroaches on the floor in the bedroom. It was supposed to be a luxury Villa, we would have got nicer in Blackpool in a 2 star. The whole place needed gutted. Rep said it was tired!!!!It hasn’t been touched in 10 years at least.

“Awful”

We are taking Villa Plus Limited to court (hearing date 21 July 2023) for breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Misrepresentations Act 1967. The villa (Argaka Heights) we rented from them last summer was uncleaned, in a very poor state of repair and had very different and much poorer quality furniture than advertised.

“Disgusting Villa From Villa Plus”

Stayed in Villa Estrella in Playa Blanca. Disgustingly filthy sofas hidden below dirty blankets. Never a good start when you arrive for your holiday. It wasn't finished there with surprises....Broken and damaged patio furniture, damaged coffee table with rust stains, picture hooks with missing pictures, no dining furniture in the dining kitchen...just a big empty space....window blind fittings with missing blinds, broken and damaged fridge, no dressing tables in bedrooms, no mirrors in bedrooms, dangerous pallet style decking with extremely sharp broken sections waiting on an unsuspecting child to impale themselves on it, filthy pool....we thought the place had been burgled it looked so bad. We then realised it was just a horrible villa with stained walls and disgusting furniture that Villa Plus were renting to unsuspecting and trusting customers. The local rep was helpful in telling us there was nothing she could do but that the villa did need 7000 to 8000 euros spent on new furnishings. We think she might be underestimating the work that needs done to this horrible Villa Plus rental

“Awful”

Absolutely terrible experience.. management feedback very poor.. do not use.. I stayed in a villa in August which was not cleaned to a decent standard..  but more than that our swimming pool turned green after three days due to the filter and pipes broken.. we had no pool use for 2 days whist this was being fixed, due to this I picked up a stomach parasite which meant I had severe upset stomach and sickness on return which I've only just fully recovered from... including two lots of antibiotics and as a side note green hair too..(which I was advised to out tomatoe ketchup in) No grips on the steps getting in so my nephew slipped and hurt his leg. It's been over 2 months since my initial complaint and around 6 emails and I have finally heard back from villa plus advising that they sympathise but take no responsibility . This is disgrace and disgusting especially as I have photos of the issues and have been so unwell. Do not use this company.. we spent over £2.5k and they are awful. Very  disappointed.

Company disgusting. Gave them a call due to a medical accident happening and asked if we could have a refund due to what had happened. They stated they give no refunds, I then asked them if they could give the money back in a voucher or change the dates of the stay and they said there was nothing they could do, considering we spent A LOT of money for the villa we had rented and due to no fault of our own we were unable to travel. They were absolutely useless didn’t help at all or even give a solution of what they could offer us. I think this is absolutely disgusting the way they treat their customers and if they continue to treat their like this they will end up losing a lot of business. Absolutely DISGUSTING.

“CANCELLED VILLA”

We had our villa booked since last year and 5 days before we fly out they tell us the villa has been withdrawn. Absolutely no offer of any compensation and if customers cancel within certain time frames they don't hesitate to inflict penalties. Appalling service and we will NEVER use them again and word of mouth will cost them lots of business.We will be telling everyone about our experience with you even our local newspaper and maybe even national. Shame on you Villa Plus - treat customers how you wish to be treated as you will lose a lot of money when this could've been handled so much differently. How about telling us to find alternative accomodation and you would cover the difference if it costs more is the very very least you should be offering. APPALLING SERVICE

We had exactly the same happen to us, they offered us nothing at all, think it is absolutely disgusting when people are spending a lot of money and they can’t even do anything to return to money! Not even a voucher to use again with them!

“Villa Plus - Untrustworthy and unethical”

I was a package customer with Villa Plus - ATOL protected - holiday cancelled beginning of September - FCO guidance and also my return flight no longer operating and no available alternatives. Jet 2 immediately refunded for both flights to VP and I was verbally assured by VP that I would be issued with full refund within 14 days. Nothing happened and despite extensive emails, complaints to ABTA, CMA, Resolver and trading standards, all I had back from VP was the usual generic nonsense ' if you have been promised a refund, then you will get this - we don't know when but thank you for your patience'. Well my patience finally ran out and with no sign of any proposed date for a refund after 8 weeks I went down the section 75 route. Although the full amount was back in my credit card account almost immediately, I had to wait 35 days before claiming this back to my current account as VP could 'dispute' this - although why they would when this money was owed to me ? Well, they did nt dispute and I was finally able to claim the full amount back from my credit card last week. During this time I heard nothing from VP aside from further generic emails. So pleased I just did nt sit and wait it out for VP to pull their finger out. Section 75 definitely the way to go as at least I knew I would eventually get my money back. Having holidayed with VP on a number of previous occasions, the disdain and utter contempt they have displayed towards their customers during this pandemic makes me realise they are not a trustworthy or ethical company. Next years holidays with them are villa only - please read their terms and conditions - they are not covered by ATOL/ABTA and you will get absolutely nothing back from them if your holiday is cancelled.

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ”

We booked a holiday for 4 to Cyprus on the 23rd of September for a week before the Coronavirus pandemic with Villaplus. We had expected the holiday to be cancelled under the current circumstances however, received an email stating otherwise. This email gave us an ultimatum, pay the outstanding balance in 48 hours or our holiday would be cancelled and we would loose our deposit. We had already been trying to email and phone Villaplus in regards to this holiday with no response in email and to find a recorded message when phoning which said the phone lines had been closed. I feel we were pushed into loosing our deposit as it was impossible to speak to someone at the company especially within the tight 48 hour deadline provided. Our deposit was already high and we were not in a position to lose even more money to the company by paying the remaining balance. In this tight window we tried to find out more ourselves about the tests required to go and seen you need to be showing symptoms to get tested by the NHS. We seen that you can get tested privately but at a cost of £100 upwards per person and the websites confirm the 72 hour turnaround required for holiday makers is not guaranteed so again this could have resulted in our party just loosing even more money. One member of the group has been shielding throughout the pandemic and another is pregnant and therefore travelling unnecessarily for both is a huge health risk. We have tried to explain this to Villa plus who have sent back a standard email not even acknowledging our points and basically telling us to go through our insurance. The way this pandemic has been handled by the company is appalling, they have no regard for the safety of their customers and clearly are only interested in tricking them out of their deposits or as much money as possible. Closing phone lines and ignoring customer emails until after the deposit has been lost shows this is a clear tactic being used by Villa plus to make as much money as they can from customers during these desperate times. We would have been more than happy to have even been offered a credit note for the deposit to use at a later date once things have calmed down but were given no such choice. Instead we have been bullied into a situation where their terms and conditions mean they can pocket our money. I have reported Villaplus to the Govt's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) as behaving unfairly during this pandemic and would encourage others in a similar position to do the same.

“Not the worst travel company, the worst company full stop.”

I agree with those that have gone before, no communication, never answer the phone but cut you off about 20 mins in to the call. Didn't even have the courtesy of telling us our holiday was cancelled. The website gives the minimum of information and is irrelevant to those of us who are owed money, many of whom like us paid up over a year ago to ensure we get the villa they want. It is tempting to say that the holiday industry has been hit hard, sadly whilst I am sympathetic many of us have been hit hard and will have lost jobs or at the very least have a very uncertain future, and dont forget, this is not their money, they aren't doing us a favour. We have had 3 holidays cancelled this year in total and the response from Jet2 for example is vastly better than Villaplus. As part of our package I was able to book extras with Jet2 direct and I got a refund before the holiday with Villaplus was even due. Truly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have no faith that I will get a refund unless I contact the credit card company. Head over to trust pilot and notice the ridiculous way they respond to reviews without addressing the actual issues raised in the review.

“No refund 9 weeks after they cancelled holiday ”

Please don’t book with this company. Read all the reviews over the last 6 months. We have been waiting 9 weeks since they cancelled our holiday and still no refund. We are amongst many. If you feel like booking with them. Try ringing them. They will not answer the phone and only deal with emails relating to the possibility of banking a new deposit. They have been subject to a pounding by which , castigated on watch dog and if you read all the web sites you will see an obvious pattern. Do not risk your hard earned money. Despicable company

DO NOT BOOK WITH VILLA PLUS!!! Discracefull how they have acted through covid. Deliberately uncontactable, closed phone lines and not answered emails. Then we were told we breached our contract. After taking legal action Villa Plus backed down and returned our deposit in full. We have used Villa Plus for years now but will NEVER again!! Hopefully they will not survive this as a company by how they have treated their customers.

we have villa only holiday booked for 22/8/20, today is 20/8/20, villa plus havnt sent travel documents but tell us our villa is available to us despite flights off due to travel restrictions, say no refund but we may be offered voucher as good will gesture. We havnt cancelled our booking but have seen our villa same dates aswe paid for resold on booking.com so villaplus, we know our villa is NOT available as you claim, REFUND please

Have literally just booked a villa/flight to Lanzarote. Airline is Ryanair. Want to pre book plane admittance but do not know how to do this. Can anyone help?  Wish to pay the addition cost to enable three members of our group take small wheeled suitcases on board. Could not see where we needed to add for this. Can anyone help?
