Unregistered charity whom invite and accept public donations yet provide no transparency as to how they are spent. Regular breaches of data protection. Condone long term, serial bullying through fear of exposure and takeover.

,they were fantastic when my 2 terriers went missing/stolen,they gave me loads of advice and support in my search, without them i never would have got the one back who was found 90miles away, sadly one is still missing 12 months on but they are still keeping their eyes open for her.i cannot praise them highly enough and preach to every one i meet about registering their dogs on doglost!

Some years ago when my dog was stolen the founder who was based about 300 miles away from me was able to tell me where my dog was. She telephoned me to say my dog was at Hounslow police station although it was a black lab it was not mine so 1/2 hour later she told me he was with Guildford dog warden this time it was my dog. Considering it was when they just started in 2003 and were unkown how on earth was she able to tell me whereabout of these 2 labs? Her explanation was not to my satisfaction. When I tried to approach dog finders in dogs found section there is no way they will tell you where the dog is kept so you can go and see if it is yours. Very strange.

Doglost is an important site for any dog owners. It is a TOTALLY free service - supported by volunteers -who will contact and advise owners.
The personal contact is invaluable

Good place to look for your missing pet and meet other owners going through the same circumstance..
I thought it was supposed to be a free service - unsure about the numbers of actual missing pets and found rates... the new website is missing long term missing pets......

In my experience, Doglost is an invaluable resource for anyone who has lost their dog, especially in the current near-epidemic of stolen dogs. The site offers both practical help and moral support. It also campaigns for the micro chipping of all dogs, and for mandatory scanning of dogs at vet's surgeries, rescue centers etc. A thoroughly worthy enterprise. A few of the regular posters are a little sentimental.

Any one who has ever lost a dog knows how distressing it is, not knowing when your dog will come home.
Doglost provides a way of doing something constructive while you search for your dog .
The website covers the whole country, and as soon as your dogs details are posted, volunteers from the area will searching for it, posters can be printed and are emailed to members in your area, and useful advice about people and organisations to contact are provided.
A great resource for those in the unfortunate position of having lost their dog.

Doglost was able to email lots of local vets and dogwardens with details of her missing dog...via this we received 2 reports of found dogs that matched her missing dog Duke.
The second dog she viewed was reported to us by the Guildford dog warden and indeed was her dog.
Most owners would be relieved to know their dog had been found and dare I say it they would be grateful to doglost for their time and effort. Instead doglost has had years of this persons libellous comments.
