I bought my Ebac 6200 two years ago. When it works it’s very efficient, drawing lots of moisture from the air ........ however ...... It’s been back three times under warranty. First return due to excessive noise and peeling of the fake wood veneer. Second time, same as first. Third time same as first and second with the addition of the unit leaking on the floor and not transferring water from the internal reservoir to the top where it is emptied when full. Each time the process for return/repair was straight forward, with Ebac arranging courier collection (made much easier because I had the foresight to keep the delivery packaging). The company never told me what had been done to the machine but I suspect the first machine was replaced with a new one. Subsequent returns were clearly repairs ... but not very successful ones in the long term. I wouldn’t buy from Ebac again as I feel their quality control is very poor for machines that are at the premium end of the scale in terms of price.

This is our fourth EBAC dehumidifier and it does the job but it is so noisy I find it hard to believe that a company so experienced as EBAC would provide a unit for household use as the 6200. I have a heavy duty EBAC dehumidifier in my garage that is quieter than this model. I find it quite amazing that a company as experienced as Ebac in this field would allow this unit to be sold in its present state. I suggest that the problem of noise is caused by the cheap plastic bodywork of the unit. A most disappointed user of an Ebac Dehumidifier.

Echoing the majority of reviews. I had a well made old ugly Ebac for 10+ years that worked really well. My nice looking Ebac6100 has worked for just 2years 10months i.e. just out of warranty. It seems I was lucky - failure wasn't due to a leak but simly either control board or refrigerant. Either way I'm advised it's not a cost effective repair! Being keen to Buy British whenever sensible, I was about to give Ebac the benefit of the doubt. But then I read these reviews. Now there's no way! I'm off to research alternatives. This is exactly the type of story that undermines the reputation of British manufacturing.. and I bet it's not even made here anyway. Ebac - sort yourselves out!

Worked fine for 3 years (just out of warranty), then compressor packed up. The cost of repair was £170. We have another dehumidifier of a cheaper make that has lasted 8 years with next to no maintenance, and cost only £160 for the whole machine. Sorry but I won't be buying Ebac again.
