Well my Tumble Dryer did cut out.Dont store wet clothes in it, also leave the door slightly open after use, this seems to cure the wet in the electrics

problem, also keep the bottom filter clean every other week.

The reset switch is behind the heater element.

Apart from a few snags this product seem to do a great job.

Regards Kevin..

It Was 1 Month After The Year And The Display Burn

It was 1 month after the year and the display burnt out. Called hotpoint as they have a 5 years free parts warranty and was quoted £120-00 for the job. I asked if I could have the part to carry out the repair myself (5 screws and a clip) and was told they could not give me the parts.

I called back again and spoke to someone different in parts and was quoted £60-00 for the part. Hotpoint are charging for these parts and the time to carry out the repair would be 15 minuites max. (£60 would have covered this plus a bit of travel time)

Hopoint you are a rip off and your fictitious 5 year warranty is not worth the paper its printed on.

Hotpoint Ctd85a. When It Was Working It Was Fine.

Hotpoint CTD85a. When it was working it was fine. However within a few weeks the digital display was faulty but fair play to Hotpoint they sent an engineer to fix it. Over the next 2 years the machine started cutting out every so often which i attributed to moisture collecting in the heating element compartment.

But the most alarming fault occurred after two years. The drum spindle is secured through a hole in the back of the machine. The friction between the spindle and the edge of the hole eventually sheared through the spindle causing the drum to fall and breaking the drive belt.

The machine is, as far as I am concerned, not worth fixing and I'm replacing it with a Bosch.

I Will Never Buy Hotpoint Again. Hotpoint Ctd85a I

I will never buy hotpoint again. Hotpoint CTD85A is noisy as hell. Lasted less than two years before the heating element started cutting the electricity off in the house.

Looks nice, when it works it works well. Three breakdowns in one year (the third just days after warranty). 2nd and 3rd faults cut off all electrics in the house. Customer service not helpful, engineers weren't available at a convenient time and when they came did not have the parts to repair.
