Disgraceful Service

As I write my site has been down for the best part of a day. Repeated requests to support are ignored. I have a simple wp site only a few images, performance in general is poor with site load times. I have potentially lost business because of this. I will be changing hosts, an utterly disgraceful service!

Not Worked For Me

I have raised my review from 1 star to 3 as they did refund me in full which I am grateful for.

My issue is that nowhere does it tell you that you can not host

email on the budget plan so after paying for a 2 year plan I was told

(24 hours after I raised a support ticket) to be able to have a mailbox

I'd need to pay for the full price hosting meaning the cost was stupidly

high (3 times the plan I signed up for) for hosting my email and I HAD

to move my domain to them to have email too rather than just pointing

the nameservers as I'd intended. It was not hosting for me

They Are Absolutely Awful At Problem Solving For You

Avoid at all costs. They say the client can edit the site yet it is full of errors. The site builder is terrible and does not work properly. When you e-mail the reply like robots and DO NOTHING to solve the problem you are having.

Worst Experience Ever

I been with UK2Net for 5 years, on Saturday we been hacked, after working with support we tried to clear the issue. Unfortunately in UK2Net terms and Condition have to pay £80 to reconnect our account which is only payable on Monday,

I have nicely ask them to connect my site till Monday and will pay on Monday. They have ignored me and suspend my account till Monday.

Definitely the worst experience i ever had.

Poor In Every Respect

Two main reasons why I would never use UK2.NET again,

Firstly (I originally went via a cashback website) they do not pay on cash back. I have been waiting over a year (since spending NEARLY £120 with them) and still no sign of the cashback.

Secondly, They may offer cashback and cheaper headline prices to entice customers in but once you have bought a domain from them, they hit you with charges for everything else which other domain vendors include in the registration fee or don't charge extra for.

For example, they charge for pointing the domain at a different address, forwarding emails and DNS management is compulsory (and expensive) if you want to do anything with your domain. This together with their premium rate "help"line will mean that I will never use UK2.NET again

Excuses Of "can't" Not Really Acceptable

Apparently, if the hosting package you buy no longer exists when it comes around for renewal, the auto-renewal will go ahead at a figure that seems to bear no resemblance to the cost you originally paid - in my case it was almost 3 times the original amount. When I asked why the auto-renewal doesn't offer the equivalent package from their current offerings, I was told the system "can't" do that. Instead they wait for customers to notice they've been charged an excessive amount, and only then adjust the renewal cost back down to the 'current' price. Not a business model I want to have further dealings with, frankly.

The other sneaky thing - UK2 broadcast their 0800 number in a way that suggests whatever the reason you need to call them, it won't be costing you for the call. Err, no. Recorded messages reveal that to speak to the Billing department you re-dial to an 0845 number, and for Tech Support it's an 0871 number. The only people you can talk to for no charge are the ones that will sell you stuff.

Think carefully before registering a domain with UK2, once you've committed yourself the process of transferring your business away from them is not an easy one...

12 Years Of Paying Them For A Domain And ....

... they loose the domains.

Their systems are absolutely terrible and even though they promised they were implementing new systems to avoid the situation that occurred when they lost my first domain. However, they still managed to loose my second domain. I have paid for these domains for 5-12 years and even turned down offers for the domain.

They have no regard whatsoever for their customers - go with them and you will get stung.

Just a word of warning to anyone who uses UK2 (UK2NET) for domain registration/ hosting. I've been with this company (about 50 domains) for about 5 years. Recently I've noticed that my renewal invoices are getting larger and larger. It transpires that "for my convenience" they have started automatically adding hosting and "domain security" to all domain renewals. Its not a huge amount, about £3 for hosting and the same for domain security but that adds up to £300 per year. It took several hours at 4p per minute (!) to get these costs refunded. So, I'm updating the whois details so I can move to a different registrar... and uk2 have taken ownership of all my domains and wont let me update the details back. It's taken threats of going to the police for them to let me take ownership back! Needless to say I'm changing registrar immedietly.

Hi, this really doesn't sound right. I can categorically say we've not been charging 'security' and opting people into something like that, so this may be a system problem that needs sorting out. Choose If You Want Unhappy Customers

VPS servers are down most of the time and when you ask for the problem, they would say "We would suggest you to check the event log".

Also they would do the maintenance in the middle of the day on Wednesday.
