Why has nat west not sent the surveyor yet for the buyer of my property. they paid for it over 5 weeks ago. and its holding my purchase up now. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is this normal?

We have applied for a mortgage through NatWest, they have asked us to clear a loan before our application is approved. If we clear it what are our chances of being approved for the mortgage?
