“Mixed feelings”

Good service re installation of lights and connection to services but you don't show a balance of account when you send the bill for the Cash Card. Also answering phone calls to you takes far too long as do replies to e mails. When i do get through the service is very good.

“Efficient but room for improvement, . ”

★★★☆☆

written by NinaDonnelly168 on 25/08/2016

When I first joined UWHC it seemed very helpful . Now I get the feeling somehow that it has got rather expanded and rather hard to communicate . Meter readings are a particular issue at moment . I have been in touch about it . Despite putting meter readings in early on the day they are not always showing up on the final bill . Getting estimated readings instead ? As with my gas bill this month although the electric ones appear to be correct . I am waiting for my paper version to arrive . I use virtually no gas in the summer months . Heating and hot water are turned off . With online shopping it should be made clearer that you have to click on the shop / company on the site in order to get the cash back . I ordered through dreams website and did not get any cash back . Also not keen on your new website at all .

“my personal view”

★★★☆☆

written by SalvadorWoodard on 12/08/2016

Overall I am very happy with UW. Any queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently. However still not entirely happy with website when it comes to broadband (emails) still quite slow at times. It seems to take quite a while to download in the first instance. Maybe I should just be a little more patient !

“Recent Experience”

★★★☆☆

written by Benton46 on 30/07/2016

Until recently I would praise Utility Warehouse, I managed to 'phone customer service to explain that my modem was erratic in opperation after some time I was told a new one would be sent but no mention of payment for this, I received the new one and set it up, it was recognised by the computer, but I could not get the internet, a password and username was required which I did not know, I tried several times to contact U.W. the last time I was 20 minutes listening to music, which no doubt I will be chargerd for,the modem I am using is the old one but could fail at any time, I still need the Password and username but am not going on the 'phone fo another 20 minutes just to listen to music, I think it unfair to have to pay for a new modem, and 'phone calls for music. I cannot get Broadband without a Modem and my sons tell me they don't pay for theirs, be fair.

“Utility Warehouse Broardband”

The service is generally ok with download speed around 10 meg but every so often it drops to around 3 meg for no apparent reason which obviously slows everything down for a while.

“Broadband Connection Poor”

★★★☆☆

written by CERS121 on 12/07/2016

I love using UW for everything but the Broadband is the downfall as there are others I see that are way faster than mine. I had hoped that UW would use the best signal at the time but doesn't seem to happen so slow internet most of the time but other than that the connection is better than it used to be but still needs improving.

“Broad band speed”

★★★☆☆

written by Rams2107 on 11/07/2016

I've recently been struggling with broadband speed and contacted yourselves for a solution, you then proceeded to change the channel to a lees busy one and I purchased a new router which you suggested and is now installed, albeit it is better I would of expected nearer the quoted 56 Mbps, I'm still only getting 25mbps download speed and only 8mbps upload speed, I'm regularly getting dropout on the web which is becoming more frustrating. The new router has improved but not to my expectations. The new router incorporates a modem which better, but still does not satisfy my needs.

“Not too quick”

★★★☆☆

written by crReece87 on 20/05/2016

Altho relatively happy with the broadband, at times it is sluggish and slow, and can cut out on rarer occasions. My daughter is frustrated by the slowness, and had considered transferring but has now decided to stay with her faster provider. As I have a full package with UW, I am happy to continue with the service, but would be delighted if it were to be improved.

“Slow Webmail”

★★★☆☆

written by alistairmacleod on 20/05/2016

Overall very happy with my switch to Utilities Warehouse but having switched also to a uwclub.net email I find it very slow to respond at most times. Consistent and doesn't time out but frustrating waiting for contacts to come up or emails to send (I'm on fibre so I assume it's the UW server)

“Basic Broadband Offering”

★★★☆☆

written by Steve-Lockley on 09/03/2016

If you are into heavy on-line gaming, or streaming music and films to several devices at the same time, this is not for you. We can use Amazon Fire TV or Chromecast to stream TV or films to a device with only occasional buffering most of the time. However, if you have multiple devices active at the same time it does slow down. Also we have had to turn the router off and on four or five times. I don't think there is a superfast broadband option from the Utilities Warehouse, so I may be changing away from them in the future.

“Could be better”

★★★☆☆

written by on 08/03/2016

Had hoped switching from unreliable expensive BT broadband to Utilities Warehouse broadband would result in improved contractual bandwidth and general reliability of connection. While the price has improved the reliability has not - I have to manually reset the broadband router several times a week (sometimes several times a day). Calls to the Support line have not produced any improvement in reliability. As a result of non-availability of broadband via wifi, my mobile phone automatically rerouted internet access via my 3G connection and so my mobile bill has unexoectedly increased. I'm putting up with it for now as I'm planning to move home soon and will shop around for alternate broadband supplier's bundled deals for the new home. A recent call to Customer Services after receiving a message about actually exceeding my broadband limits resulted in cancellation of excess usage fees and being moved onto a cheaper tariff for improved usage limits, of which I was previously unaware through lack of information from Utilities Warehouse. The Customer Services person was very helpful though.

Yes, I would definitely recommend them. They have two levels of broadband, I am on the cheaper rate and I have had good service for years. The other thing about Utility Warehouse is that if you do have a problem their customer service is faultless and is based in this country and they bend over backwards for you. Obviously the more services you have with UW the cheaper the whole package becomes and re the recent increase by British Gas, UW have only increased their charge by 2.9 %

If you contact Utility Warehouse (I find just after 2.00 pm or mid-evening are good times with little wait) you will find them very helpful and they will talk you through all you need to do. Have you tried re-booting everything? Hope this helps.

We take all 5 services from UWCLUB, mobiles (3) landline, broadband and Gas+Elec. Taking everthing puts you on Gold tariff which saves even more. We have a large 4 bedroom house and our average monthly bill for everything is around £240 taking cashback card refunds into account.

We live in a croft in the north of Scotland and use Utility Warehouse for electricity, landline telephone, one mobile phone and Broadband. On average the monthly cost is £95.00.

Ring them up and ask them. The service team at Utility Warehouse are the best ever. Usually swift response, no pressure, keen to help and of course a centre in this country. There are so many packages nowadays you need to be specific but I can assure you that whatever you ask for, the service will be top notch.

Well that depends but I feel confident that over a year or so Utility Warehouse is cheaper than the others. On the spot you may find one of the utilities cheaper for a month or 2 but over a period UW scores well. And to cap it they are so good on the phone if anything goes wrong.
