I had Panasonic phones previous to buying BT Calypso. I am ready to ditch my Calypso phones and go back to Panasonic. For the first two to three months they were fine, apart from not being able to hear caller very clearly through handset. The battery life is apalling and, like other reviews, everytime we get a call or try to make a call, the handset switches off - it's a good job we have mobile phones !!… Read Full Review

Don't bother wasting your money on a BT Calypso 225. It will make strange (and sometimes loud) noises at any time of the day or night that can go on and on for several minutes - almost sounds like aliens trying to get in touch! The battery life is appalling and I have yet to find replacements. The handsets will just switch off as soon as you try to answer a call. We are now down to one of the 4 handsets that will work for calls and answerphone messages, even the one handset that was recently… Read Full Review

I brought this BT Calypso 225 phone after having the elder version previously. With a double handset....the second of which needn't be plugged into a phone line, just an electrical socket....it seemed just the job. In actual fact, nothing has worked right with the phone from day one. It was correctly charged before using, and still the battery life is way below average. I have purchased more rechargeable batteries at a cost of a quarter of the phone itself. These I give a good charge fro… Read Full Review

I was desperately disappointed with the twin phone setup I bought from BT. If I had paid £10 for it I would have felt cheated, but £60 was a complete buying disaster. The whole user experience was so bad that I found myself deliberately not using the phone. Fortunately the phone resolved the problem for me by breaking down completely. Overall, complete rubbish product… Read Full Review

The first thing that I liked about the BT Calypso 225 was the ability to add numbers from my mobile phone to the address book using the SIM reader. Great facility as there is no way that I can ever remember all of the mobile numbers of friends and family and I can save 200 on here.
The BT Calypso 225 has quite small keys, which I did think that I was going to regret, but I haven't miss-dialled yet so either my fingers are quite as fat as I thought they were or the keypad isn't actually that…

The BT Calypso 225 had a low speaker volume even at the highest setting, no voice clarity.
Disappointed.

I absolutely agree. I have the BT Calypso twin and it exhibits the same 'wierd noise' symptoms, battery life is awful so much that if someone has left a voice message and I try to play the message - the phone dies. Very very poor quality
