“Pleasant Flight”

Flew LAX-Moscow-St. Petersburg, RU. Fast check-in (3.5 hrs. early); flight on time but passengers were a bit unruly placing their carry-ons in overhead bins. Flight attendants were courtesy, efficient and business like. The seat pitch was great! Plenty of leg room for us in economy. Seats were average in terms of comfort. No entertainment and no wine or beer. For the price, it was a great experience - especially with the legroom.

“Cheap, punctual, but not cheerful”

LED-LHR-LED. Could be SO MUCH better. Cheaper than BA, more punctual than BA, but on board no booze, no duty-free, horrid meals and incomprehensible English. Loved saving money and being on time, so suggestions are: Improve online check-in Do one choice of meal onboard (apart from pre-booked special dietary ones) but better one. Sell booze (if not giving) Sell some duty free towards the end of the flight to pass some time. Teach English corporately to your staff - they think if they speak fast no one would understand whether they have made a mistake or not - it is certainly true - nobody understands anything announced by the crew. Otherwise - lets raffle BA's feathers - after all T4 is still LHR and the price is fab. Beware of hipflasks ;-)

“WORST AIRLINES EVER CREATED- SAVE YOURSELVES!”

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. THE MONEY YOU SAVE ON BUYING A CHEAP TICKET FROM TRANSAERO IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE, STRESS, AND PHYSICAL AGGRAVATION THAT HAS YET TO COME TO AN END ALMOST 3 WEEKS AFTER MY FLIGHT. I NEED TO SEE A PSYCHOLOGIST FROM MY HORRID EXPERIENCES WITH THIS AIRLINES. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS LEGAL TO OPERATE IN THE MANNER THAT THEY DO! THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A NUMBER TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE - WHAT A JOKE! AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING, THEY LOST MY BAGGAGE. AND OH YEAH, THEY WONT COMPENSATE ME FOR IT. EVEN THOUGH, THE LAST REPORT OF HAVING MY BAGGAGE SCANNED PROVES THAT IT DIDN'T EVEN GET ON TO MY DAMN FLIGHT. BELIEVE ME, I WILL MAKE SURE EVERY PERSON I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE, AND ANY PERSON THAT THAT PERSON EVER MET IN THEIR LIFE - WILL KNOW - THAT TRANSAERO - OPERATES IN SUCH A INCOMPREHENSIBLE MANNER- THAT THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN - IMMEDIATELY. “Needs customer service improvement :-(((”

Horrible, horrible service!! Do not flight with Transaero! My flight was from Moscow to New York, on May 17th 2013. This day on MCAD was a big car crash, 3 people died, traffic was ridiculous. My flight was at 10:50am, I got to Vnykovo at 10:10, that flight has status of registration, when we got there 1 min late, people from this company didn’t want let me and my child in, they said it’s an airport rule. Can you imaging how frustrated it is and I have a connection in JFK! I went to change my ticket for a different flight, lady at front desk, was not helpful at all! She said that I purchase tickets through internet and you need to call them, over wise purchase tickets again, and flight only next day, she didn’t offer different company to flight with!! I asked to talk to the manager, what I get from it is “It’s not my problem!” I went to a different company “Aeroflot”, there people were more kind to my situation, they got me to the flight at 3:20 pm on a different airport, and thanks God I mad it to my connections!!! When I flew from NY to Moscow, entertainment was awful; it was only 1 movie for 9 hours flight! Staff took 1 hour to help me after I called them!

“Horrible”

I had a flight from Miami to Moscow !!! The flight was late and I had another one after but I missed it because of them!!! The company promised to pay for a new flight but they never did!!! I had To buy a new ticket !!!! They can NOT BE TRUSTED!!!! Do not use their service!!!!

“Booked economy plus, got standard economy = fraud!”

Return flight to Russia. Upgraded to Economy plus for the extra legroom, costing twice as much, but allocated seats in standard economy for the outward journey, very cramped. Kept boarding card for evidence. On return journey Economy plus was not even available on the plane but they couldn't care less. This is plain fraudulent, but I don't fancy my chance sof getting a refund. I won't be using them again.

“TransAero”

The company just started to fly in US, but not well. They promised a lot but didn’t. The all LCD displays doesn't work on both plane; Being 777-300 and 747-400, but they offering the DVD player for $35, interested!?. The seats very close to each other, old and doesn't work well. Some seats twisted. Food can be much better. If you extra baggage be ready to spend at list 30 min to pay for it, and this is not in same place as registration. When get back to US on 737-400 they didn’t have ice for the beverages.

“Fraudulent Airline, Fraudulent Credit Card Charges”

I attempted to book a flight on Transaero from New York to Tel Aviv, via Moscow, at the end of June. After being unable to complete the transaction on their website, I called the customer service number. I thought I had finally booked my ticket, when several days later a Transaero service representative called and said that between the time I had booked the ticket and the time they went to issue it, the price had gone up. She asked that I approve the additional $100 that it would cost. After reading the AWFUL reviews of the airline, I was actually happy to have a reason to cancel the flights I had booked with them and fly Swiss Air instead. It took several calls back and forth, but I was ultimately able to cancel. Or so I thought. Transaero had tried to charge my credit card with the cost of the ticket despite my cancellation, but the card was denied (literally the only time in my life I was happy I had a low credit limit!). Well, I just got the my statement in the mail, low and behold there are several hundred dollars of fraudulent charges – I just spent 40 minutes canceling the card. In addition to the $500 in bogus charges that went through, there was close to $2,000 in denied charges. This experience has taught me that if an operation looks fly-by-night, it probably is. It is NOT worth saving $100 bucks on a ticket! Book your trip with a reputable, safe airline.

“I would definitely fly with Transaero again, I've...”

I would definitely fly with Transaero again, I've flown with them 5 times in the past. They offer really good customer service on their planes. However, I have never had to deal with their ground customer services team, so I cannot comment on that. If you decide to travel to Russia, beware of their Domodedovo Airport customs! You have to find someone to let you through the gates. People at the airport, both employees and passengers, do not smile. Ever! If you have a transit flight via Domodedovo, make sure you demand someone to serve you! My name was being called out on the speakers for late check in but despite my pleas to be served before other passengers, they made me wait in the queue. I was the only transit passenger and everyone else had hours before their flights. The flights to Kazakhstan from Moscow are always on time. If you go to Kazakhstan, very doubtful since most people here have never even heard of it, go to Almaty the former capital. It is absolutely gorgeous! The city is surrounded by beautiful snow mountains and lakes with crystal clear waters. The Kazakh people are very friendly and most of them speak good English. It is a very well developed city and if you do go there, you will enjoy your holiday immensely.
