I was after a bike for longer rides as training for a 200 miler at the end of April. The Gryphon looked good and ticked the boxes, 2,000 miles (5 months) of training and I did the 200 mile ride with no trouble other than the brakes were a little spongey to the end - just needed minor adjustment which is easy to do from a thumbwheel by the handlebar. If you look after it and keep clean it's worth the money and will last. The only issue I found is the tyres, had a few punctures on the supplied tyres but changed to Schwalbe Marathon Greenguard and haven't had a puncture in 1,800 miles. Gears still smooth when oiled and very happy with this bike. Took it in to Halfords (Rustington) for 6 week service. Support was superb and can't fault them, showed me how to adjust for optimum performance. Conclusion - great for the money and with decent tyres it will keep you going if you look after it!
