Surf Grill Shack - Wanted Somewhere To Eat Before
Surf Grill Shack - Wanted somewhere to eat before going to the theatre and went in on the off chance. Staff were very friendly and the burger was the best I have ever eaten. Will certainly go back.

The Date On The Tomato Sauce We Were Served Was 10
The date on the tomato sauce we were served was 10 months passed. We waited over an hour between our starters and our mains. After complaining twice about the wait times we received no apology.
When the food arrived I thought it was no better then cheap pub food, cold chips, basic cheap ingredients, very tasteless and bland. There were four of us at the table and only one could finish his meal.
We told a staff member that we were very disappointed with the service, food and price. We left enough money on the table to cover the cost of our drinks and starters and left the restaurant.

The Service At The Surf Grill Shack In Hampshire W
The service at the Surf Grill Shack in Hampshire was lukewarm to say the least, and we were pestered to give our order. The food was below that of a late night curry house, with poor quality meat and cold fries.
The vegetarian dish I was presented with was a very sad affair; the fajita mix consisted of a handful of vegetables cooked in cheap oil, served with processed cheese and limp salad, with some catering grade salsa and guacamole. We received one plate (warm) then waited about 5 minutes for the next fiasco. We then had to wait for the tortillas to be brought to the table. When I asked for some sour cream, after making sure that I had been given the right meal, as there were no spices, I was told that there was none, but I could have mayonnaise with it. The waiter then tried to get us to buy more drinks. So lets recap: bad greeting on entry, insistence that we order sooner rather than later (it was only 7:45pm) food turns up in batches, quantity and quality of food neither exciting or good quality, and very poor response to complaint about food. Oh yes, the waiter also tried to clear our plates away from us while the other member of the party was still eating, and gave us our bill without us asking for it. I can honestly say it has been the worst dining experience since I ate at Roka in London. At least when I complained about the meal they listened before acting as if I was not there!
