“AVOID do not use this company ”

Terrible company and terrible service. Avoid at all cost. They mislead with False information on the website and then lie when questioned. They will not make you aware of any changes to the hotels once booked. They are rude when you call. The manager apparently far to important to take calls from customers. I have had to escalate my complaint to Abta. Whether something will be done I am not sure, however all I can do is make sure I avoid anyone else experiencing the same as what we have for a family holiday, and if I can stop them in receiving a booking then I will be pleased. Best at Travel and Destinology is who I would highly recommend and they price match.

“Disabled daughters boyfriend in major accident was...”

Disabled daughters boyfriend in major accident was pulled from Barbados holiday by parents, we then cancelled him but were told by Kenwood that they would keep his place open in case he was able to join us after all. Months later he felt able to come along so Kenwood were informed.. Rude and unhelpful member of staff says he was cancelled, and the hotel now had no room or bed for him so wanted £3000 to add him back on. Heartbroken disabled daughter begs me to please sort out holiday. I call the hotel DIRECT to be informed that Kenwood had lied and that we had already paid for a family suite for 6 anyway,(not what Kenwood told me), so adding him was not a problem. They then offered him a 35% discount due to the circumstances and after calling BA for flights and transfers we managed £1200 all inclusive..Disgusting..The second time we have used Kenwood with problems.. Go direct..

“Beware of Kenwood Travel”

I would never recommend using this company if you are the kind of person who likes updates on your booking and someone there to speak to in case you would like to make any small changes. Originally I spoke to Dipak who gave an amazing sell of the high priced package and ensured I could easily contact him again if needed. However of course Dipak was non-existent after I had made a payment and no matter how many times I phoned or left messages. I never heard from him again. They got the transfers on our booking wrong on a number of occasions and I had to chase and chase endlessly. In addition my meal requirements were not taken into account (I emailed them many times about this) so I ended up skipping my meal on the flight. When originally booking we were assured our seats would be together on the upper deck of the Malaysian airline flight - on the way there it was absolutely fine but on the way back we didn't even have a seat together. My fiance ended up having to speak to Malaysian airlines on the phone for 45 mins to sort this out himself (followed by a high phone bill). I'm guessing they didn't make the return seat reservations in time and didn't bother updating us on this! Since receiving the documents for our trip we have had no follow up or further contact, they ignored my emails whilst I was away so in the end I just gave up with them. Overall, our holiday was amazing - but this wasn't down to them. Kenwood travel are rude, disorganised and only after your money! Don't expect a service once you have made your payment.

“AWFUL COMPANY AND SERVICE!!!”

Due to travel to Barbados for Christmas on the December 2016 to the Sands Hotel (new build- completion date was August 2016). Concerns started in August (estaimted completion date) when a friend of ours was actually in Barbados and said they had seen the hotel and it was no where near completion and a total construction site!! In the meantime, our other friends wanted to join us in the Sand Hotel but they were finding it difficult to book as other company's took it off their webpage (obviously as it clearly was not ready)... So we told them to book it with Kenwood travel as they were still advertising it on their website. They called them and was told that the hotel hopefully will be finished by October but not looking good for Christmas, so our friend passed this on to us considering we had already booked this in April 2016. We then decided to send a email asking about this and was told it should be ready by October 16th but to call back before we pay our balance. We then got the call to say it will not be ready and to look for other hotels within reason. We were actually given a list of alternative hotels by an employee at Kenwood, one of which was Turtle beach but we were told we cannot have this one even though they had already offered it to us! Called back AGAIN and spoke to another employee at Kenwood, who advised that we could not have our chosen alternative due to availability. He then suggested a hotel called Sugar Bay- We said yes to this hotel but then was told we have to pay £2200 EXTRA! We have been completely mis- sold a holiday by Kenwood and the customer service is absolutely appalling. We have been waiting and saving nearly all year for this holiday in a BRAND NEW luxury hotel to be told a couple of months before it would not be ready and we have to settle for less! The only hotel they offered us at no cost was called Mango Bay- I advise anyone to look at this and the Sands and compare the two- how can they expect us to be happy with this in the slightest- it is also a different side of the island where we purposesly did not choose in the first place. Kenwood have caused so much inconvenience for us and have not compensated appropriately. We would not recommend this travel company to anyone.

“Never use them”

If I could give no starts I would... So I guess the 1star would be not waiting for long to speak to anyone on the phone. Myself and my friend booked a holiday to the Sands Barbados via Kenwood Travel. On receiving notification from local residents that the hotel will not be ready in time n informing Kenwood Travel of this and supplying them pictures. They are refusing to acknowledge this n are being unrealistic that it will be finished in time. There level of customer service is repugnant. For example I was told that "I was being silly " by Russell Fleming a manager. This speaks 1,000 words about professionalism. I will never book with them!!!!!

My experience with this company has been dreadful!! I have never come across a more unorganised travel agents who completely messed up my holiday experience, made promises they could not stick to and lied throughout. This company is a complete shambles. The staff are extremely arrogant and rude, clearly have no customer service skills, they shout down the phone and should all be sacked. I WARN YOU DO NOT USE THEM. Bluddy joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Very Poor Customer Care”

As a second time booker of Kenwood Travel, I was extremely disappointed with the service second time round. After booking my holiday in February, I was informed in May that our hotel would be closed during our stay due to scheduled maintenance work, no help was offered to find an alternative and bearing in mind the time frame, hotels in general were much more expensive so after many emails back and forth we reluctantly opted to keep our flights and find an alternative hotel ourselves. So I booked a hotel and paid in full...finally everything was sorted! In July, I emailed regarding the flights as I wanted to make payment, only to notice that the departure date was incorrect. I assumed this may have been a typo so I politely queried it, only to get a reply saying "Just realised there has been a schedule change on the Virgin flights and they no longer fly on 12 Nov and fly on 13 Nov. There are no flights for 12-22 Nov. Many apologies, I think it is best if we offer you a refund of your deposit as those are not the flights you wanted". I did not want a refund, I wanted a holiday so again after many emails back and forth, I was left with no choice but to get a refund. The team did admit that the notification they received from VA regarding the flight change did slip through the net and as a gesture, they liaised with Virgin Atlantic so we wouldn't have had to fork out any additional cost for an indirect flight but it meant that we lost a full day traveling and in all honestly, it didn’t cut it, considering the fact that if I had not asked for the flight details to make payment, they would not have even realised the flight schedule had changed. I was offered a refund on numerous occasions throughout the booking process and I constantly felt like I was a burden to them. When everything is running smoothly, they are more than happy to have your business but at the first hiccup, they want rid of you. There website states many empty promises, Travel Expertise, Consumer Protection, Personal Touch , Direct Savings …. None of which I experienced and I will certainly not be using Kenwood travel again nor would I recommend them based on their customer service skills and lack of competency in dealing with my booking.

We booked a holiday to Antigua and arrived to find the whole resort covered in seaweed. We couldn't even open the doors to the balcony due to the smell of rotting fish. No swimming,sunbathing,snorkelling or even eating in outside restaurants due to the smell. Hotel staff were going around with bandanas tied around their mouths to avoid the smell. We asked to be moved to another hotel and numerous phones calls and emails later no one from Kenwood could be bothered to answer us. The hotel rep arrived and agreed we should be moved but could not contact Kenwood. Hotel signs from two months prior to our stay apologised for the seaweed so one would have thought that Kenwood were aware of the situation. After 4 days we got through to Kenwood and asked for the manager and here is where the problem really began. Seaweed is a natural phenomenon and even though everyone knew about it prior to our holiday no one told us about it. The manager refused to move us and it took four days of phone calls ( stuck inside our bedrooms) for him to agree to move us. We were moved to the ONLY hotel he would agree too which was the sister hotel of where we were staying and two stars below where we were staying. Moved on the fifth day of our holiday to inferior hotel where my son had to sleep on a pull out bed. Kenwood didn't even bother to contact us and after numerous attempts we gave up trying to contact them. To sum up, very poor service. Very hard to contact when things go wrong.No ones cares when things go wrong. Rude manager who could not care less about you. Book with anyone else.

“Over Charging by Kenwood Travel”

Tried to book holiday to Thailand early Nov told to wait till end of month early Dec contacted kenwood again was told agent was on holiday until 10th Dec so spoke to another agent. Explained what had happened he said he could do booking. the price had shot up from the time I tried to book early Nov said best deal was flying with Asian air line said had better price for flight from Finair so he dropped price when I checked visa details found that could only do 29 nights when I told agent he amended dates but the price would stay the same. I also asked about hotels in Helsinki said kenwood did not do Finland and was best to book myself also asked if any bars around hotel in Thailand said was plenty on checking found I restaurant so as an agent for the Asia he did not know what he was talking about. asked him to pre book seats on flights said he would phone back next day still waiting, So if you find hotel you like on this site book hotel on the day and use Momondo or other for flights and don't trust what agents say. I think by trusting agents has cost me about 500 pounds so you could save a fair bit by using the above details

“Great website - awful customer service”

I found a holiday I liked on the Kenwood Travel website. I had a couple of queries about it so I emailed the queries to Kenwood. A week later after not hearing back from them, I called them. I spoke to a lady who apologised for not getting back to me, discussed the issues I had, promised to email me back with the answers and provide me with some options for me to decide which holiday would suit me best. Since then, nothing!,, in spite of me contacting them twice since. It's a shame as the website is excellent and if everything you need is mentioned there then you'll be fine, but if you need to consult them, don't bother!

“Rude and Unprofessional”

Hi, I booked with Kenwood Travel recently for a holiday to Tobago in December. I found them to be very unprofessional, rude and clearly don't need the business. I wasn't happy with the airline in the package we had, so I called to ask if we could change this and I was told that there was nothing available, even though they didn't bother looking. I was happy to pay the difference within reason and I was told if I had an extra £5k there might be something and that if I look on their website and find something else they may be able to move my £300 deposit across....surely I am the customer and they should try and help me find an alternative? We asked about upgrading to premium seats on the same flight instead and were told it was £350 per person. When I checked with the airline it was on £220 per person but was advised only Kenwood could upgrade the seats for me. The system isn’t live therefore anything I did find on their website as an alternative was not available. In the end I found another holiday with a different travel agent which cost an additional £2k total for a 5* hotel (the other one was a 3*)and booked that and cancelled my booking with Kenwood losing my £300 deposit. I would have rather lose my deposit than give them a penny more of my money. I emailed them to cancel my booking explaining that I had been unhappy with the way they had handled my booking and they didn't even bother to acknowledge it. I was away at the time and had to ask my partner to ring them to request an email of acknowledgement which I finally received. I am well-travelled and book trips all the time. My advice is to avoid!!!

“Don't bother”

I have just tried to book a holiday to Dubai with this company August 2014, waited 3 days for confirmation. I wrote numerous emails before finally being told the price had gone up by £600. If I could rate zero stars, I would. My treatment was terrible, nothing I liked about spending 5k of my hard earned cash...so I didn't. Advice...buyer beware of booking..found a better holiday with another company.

“Appalling customer service”

I had been using the Kenwood Travel website for a while to browse luxury long haul holidays. So when my whole family decided to go away together next year (2014) I rang them to confirm prices I had seen online for a holiday to Thailand. I tried for just over a week to get a price from them. They never returned my calls, saying the agent was busy/on another call/on the toilet/not at work today. Eventually, after getting the price, with my credit card in my hand I rang to book. Amazingly, they still didn't want to know. Nobody else but the original operator could deal with it and despite leaving three messages, he never returned my call. I thought, if they don't want to talk to me when I'm giving them money, then what will they be like if I have a problem abroad? Your loss Kenwood, I have just spent £17,000 on a fantastic holiday with Thomas Cook Signature, who actually wanted my custom. I am surprised at reading the pages and pages of five star reviews on this website and in my opinion, after spending many hours trawling through them all, the language and wording seems a little repetitive and the content very similar?

“dreadful service, and worst ever customer service”

I booked an 9 night holiday in September 2012 to Antigua and paid the balance of my holiday end of January 2013. When looking to book my seats on the aircraft I discovered that the dates had changed to a 8 night holiday, not once was I informed of this and I was also charged for a 9 night holiday!! Kenwood answer to this was , they used a 3rd party to book it! Refund or take the holiday. customer service non exsistant, I had to ask for the payment of the extra day back and compensation for my holiday being cut short- non! No way would I book with this company, if you have please double check everything to make sure you get what you pay for! My worst ever holiday experience

follow up! after speaking to customer service manager who dealt with my complaint very professionally and tried to resolve my complaint to mutual agreement.
I would now give Kenwood travel another chance on booking my next holiday, the inital booking procedure was very good and apart from this big mishap everything was dealt with well.
I have been informed that procedures have now been implemented that this could not happen again.

I agree, Kenwood only care about one thing.... Taking money! After care is non existent and if you ask to be referred to someone higher up they put you in touch with the rudest manager ever!
Believe me when I say that I will never book with kenwood again! Please be warned! Go elsewhere, it will be cheaper, better organised and definitely safer should you need help once you have booked or returned from your holiday!

“In the first instance Kenwood Travel were reasonably...”

In the first instance Kenwood Travel were reasonably efficient , the price was not the cheapest but the fact we could pay a deposit on the day and the rest later was a good thing.
We were due to fly out on 29th April 2011 but we had an unexpected family death on 13th April 2011 and the funeral was not available until 26th April
So I contact Virgin who we are flying with and am told they will change the flight dates free of charge in these circumstances but this will need to be done via Kenwood Travel
I contact Kenwood Travel and am told there is normally a fee of around £150 each way to change ticket dates and I would be called back... no call back.
I call Kenwood Travel and am told Virgin are closed??
I am called back the next day Claudia who informs me that the charge is £150 for each traveler there are 3 of us, I tell her that Virgin do this free of charge and she tells me that I need to call Virgin and get them to send Claudia a note saying they will honor that.
I call Virgin back who tell me they cant tell me anything at all and I need to speak to Kenwood Travel, which I do then I call Virgin again to log a complaint and the lady who I dealt with at Virgin is a bit more helpful and explains a bit more and asks for the death certificate to be faxed.
Then a few minutes later says I have to go back to Kenwood Travel, then she calls Claudia as I am on hold then tells me I need to speak to Kenwood again which I do.
I find out that the new dates we need to book are actually cheaper than the original dates but am told by Claudia that I will be charged the same as the original dates and that the difference cannot be given back to me approx £44 per ticket.
I understand that there will be admin fees to change dates etc and accept this even though the circumstances are exceptional I do not however accept that the admin fee of £150 is acceptable nor do I accept that the difference in ticket price could not be given back to us
So overall opinion is that Kenwood Travel are OK as long as nothing goes wrong so with this in mind and us going to Florida probably at least once a year now (we have family there now) we will have to look else where

It is not clear when using Kenwood Travels website that you are actually only making an enquiry and not a booking as payment details including card security number, names on passports, agree to terms and conditions etc etc are required before the form can be submitted. We thought we had booked a holiday to Cuba travelling in 3 weeks time but after entering all our information we received an e-mail to say "thank you for your enquiry into availability"?. When I contacted Kenwood to question this and if the holiday was available I was told that it wouldn't be, when I then said that this service was "C**P and not clear from the website I was felt their reply was inapropriate. My husband then called Kenwood Travel regarding why they had needed our passport and credit card details when we had apparently only enquired about the holiday and were not booking it, he was told that this was the process, however they did advise us that they would remove our details immediately. The service we received was appalling and we would not use this company again.

Yep, just had the bait and switch tactic tried on with me by Kenwood. "Booked" a holiday on the website and entered all the details and then had a call from them stating it would actually cost me an extra 400 quid than the price I had "booked".

This type of sales tactic should be outlawed.
