Where Do I Start With Miss Potter? I Was Forced In

Where do I start with Miss Potter? I was forced into watching this film with my date so I was a reluctant viewer to begin with. I can't honestly say that I hated this film, it is just about watchable if you make the effort but it is an old-fashioned picture aimed at girls and olds.

A typical love story really, but it doesn't contain anything very emotional. The big names are Zellwegger and McGregor who may as well have phoned-in their performances - chuck a few cardboard actors in for good measure and you've got yourself a movie.

Too summarise, women and olds will love it. Your average man will not.

Ha Ha! Great review Hank! I was almost tempted to see this film! Glad I didn't now!

I think your date should now be kind enough to accompany you to see 'Living the Dream'!!

I Have To Admit That My Eyes Filled With Tears Whe

I have to admit that my eyes filled with tears when Miss Potter's publisher had died as she was about to marry him, but Beatrix herself was in a lovely, special little world of her own. Whenever she painted one of her animal drawings, in her own mind they would suddenly come to life, but her parents found her behaviour rather odd as she would not conform to their ways by being expected to attend well to do dinner parties and marrying against her will to someone had alot of money. They did not approve of her marrying her book publisher. Miss Potter would always spend every summer in the Lake District with her family. After her publisher's death, she eventually found happiness again and bought the same house in the Lake District where she had always stayed and kept it as a working farm and went on to buy other properties for that same purpose. She was fed up with living in London. Miss Potter eventually ended up marrying the former groundsman from the working farm where she used to stay, but he had became a property dealer and her parents still did not approve. All in all it was a very good film which showed the life of a young woman, her work in an age where women did not have very many rights or to be allowed to do things nor think for themselves. It is well worth a watch!
