I have a Mk 3 Mazda MX-5. The 2.0 litre version has the advantage over the 1.8 one in that Dynamic Stability Control came as standard. A number of owners have said that the MX-5 can be a bit tetchy in the wet, although I don't have personal experience of this. The car is quite fast, economical and fun to drive. The detachable hard top is easy to put on and remove, although there is a continual temptation to drive 'al fresco' at every opportunity. The boot is reasonably large, but otherwise the car is not very practical other than a means of personal transport. But then again, who buys a roadster on grounds of practicality.
