My favourite Thai restaurant. Bryan, the owner, always has a friendly and genuine welcome for his regulars, nothing is ever a problem and the staff are first class and willing to please. The food is always first class with a great choice and the house red is a particular delight. Always busy but that says it all really.

Yan restarunt, Westhill, is very frendly I go there with my family and also had a work function thier in the private area. It is an amazing atmosphere all the staff freindly.
The take away is quick aswell and the fact you have comfortable seats to sit while waiting for it is a bonus. The toilsets were very clean. The staff are accomidating espicialy with 2 kids under 5.

Yan is a lovely place, relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and polite. Its nice to be served by an owner as it adds a personal touch. Its also not that expensive either. I just don't think the food is outstanding. Its nice but nothing extra special. I do rate this restaurant as is seems to be 'the place to go' but i am not overly wowed by the food. Portions quite small too.

Fantastic choice of menu especially for a vegetarian, Very friendly and quick service, food cooked fresh and tasted great. I would recommend having the tamperer as a take away however it doesn't taste its best after a half hour car journey to get it home.

The owner often greets you at the door.....he knows his regulars, but everyone is made welcome by the friendly staff.
Myself and grown family go there at least 3 or 4 times a month. We even get a take away if we don't feel like getting dressed up and going out.
It's the best.

Definitely to be recommended but not if you want a quiet, romantic meal.

A better oriental restaurant in Aberdeen(shire) you will NOT find. I have visited this restaurant a number of times now since it opened and I can honestly say I can't fault it. Lunch or Dinner, groups of friends or just myself and my wife out for a meal (recently also takeaway). I don't think for a second that this can all be down to luck. Bryan has opened an absolute gem here and the number of people going there proves it. I only hope they can keep up the high standards they have set and achieved.

Just love going to eat at Yan as it has all the magic ingredients for us. Quiet atmosphere, soft furnishings absorb sound, linen table cloths and napkins. No noisy children running around. Calm atmosphere. Great food and good service. Out of the city so parking is easy.

The owner of Yan is always friendly, and he comes round all the tables to make sure that everything is good with your food etc.
Try it for yourself.
Overall, great value for money, and I can never eat all the food, as portion sizes are excellent.

It's a shame really, as the food at Yan in Westhill, Aberdeen is above average, and if they were less greedy with space and table turning it would be a nice environment to eat in. The card issue at the end was lack of training and laziness, but it was the final straw, and everyone left disappointed and slightly angry.
If they got their act together it could be good.
